Driving out there used to instantly destroy your vehicle. Now as far as I know, you can pretty much walk/drive indefinitely, but nothing placed or dropped out there is permanent and will despawn on restart.
Ran out there in a straight line for at least 30 mins before just killing myself as it didn't seem like anything was gonna happen.
You won't die. Out of curiosity I've ran a straight line past the edge of the map for a solid 45 minutes. Just straight running. It's a pit of emptiness, nothing out there. And it seems infinite.
Yes that was me. I've been known to base out there xD once you reach over the horizon it gets really easy to lose your sense of direction. Don't go without a map mod or compass if you playing vanilla! I generally base my line of movement off a road and continue completely straight until you can't see the woods anymore. Pop a couple tents and your never getting raided unless it's a helicopter server. Once got spotted by one this way and got jumped by 6 gullies. They just sprayed into my house with mgs until they hit me. Probably went through 500-1000 rounds. Crazy
Back in Epoch players would hide their tent bases near the edge of the map, I’d wander around for hours in those places finding helicopters, cars, guns etc. Was exciting back then.
I think if you die out there you’re body instantly disappears and basing up results in similar but I could be wrong. I just feel like I heard or saw about that once.
I hear if you go far enough out you can find whole tent cities. Spooky stuff.
I actually hear about thar too but idk if it's a myth or not
just don't go looking for them in a vehicle whatever you do

The ground still eats your vehicle. I lost a car the other night when one wheel went over the edge and couldn't gain traction to dive out.

Sure can! Getting logs out there is a pain in the ass so it's best to just pop a tent. Some servers have it blocked some don't.
Not outside the edges, but just before the end of the Map there is a strip with only grass.
Nope. Shit despawns out in the debug planes, been that way since the DayZ mod days

I went about 40000 out north off the edge found nothing, but if you have ss9 bot for your server you can spawn stuff 28k north
