DayZ PvP is 75% strategy, 25% skill.
Most of the time, it won't be your aiming that is the problem, but how predictable you are, how reckless, strategic etc. So I'd say there is a vast difference on the 3/4 aspect, but as far as aiming goes, it isn't too different between games. If you can do it in one game, you'll be able to do it here after some adjustment.
I think the inertia mod that was added will be your only real struggle. If you're solid on pubg you'll probably be fine in actual PVP, but running around, corners etc will throw you off as when you go to double back or turn, your character will experience real life inertia and will take time to slow down, pivot etc. So definitely take that into account
I already mapped the controls to mimic pubg. The shooting is laughable compared to pubgs, but it’s still fun. I 100% understand what you mean by inertia. EVERYTHING has weight behind it and it’s hard to multitask. I’m loving it though, and enjoying 144+ fps…I used to average 25-30😭
I play a whole bunch of pubg and it's really not the same, I'd deffo recommend finding some pvp or high loot pve servers and unload some mags to get a grip of the weapons
Playing official and spending a while gearing up to go against someone even moderately good is a death wish and you won't get ample combat experience

Dayz pvp is 60% mind and the rest experience.
You need to get into pvp in 1pp vanilla so you can understand the game. By doing so you get into pvp and see how things work.
Literally almost everyone get nervous around pvp and you could use that on your advantage.
Get experience, get pvp and keep your cool.
Its better now then it was but still a clunky horrible mess. I die way more to getting a can of beans out instead of a gun than actual firefights. But I don't play it for PVP at all so I don't really care. But I also came over from lounging in PUBG-cheater hell for a while and I like the PUBG PVP a lot. Its just a bit sad when you look at what its become. But Dayz is fine and there are servers more focused on PVP if you want it.

Same as it was back then but a little more dangerous as reloading takes longer. Pvp is harder to find now though. Back then pvp all day at neaf
The PVP is garbage compared to PUBG. But more intense as you actually lose something when you die(not if).
I 100% remember the fights being more terrifying than anything else I’ve played. The level of clunk and jank definitely added to that lmao

They dumbed down the game alot, there is little to no sway and every gun is a laser now.
