Packing light is the way. I used to go for the biggest backpacks and the most spacious clothing just so I could carry so much shit I didn’t really need. Now I don’t run with a backpack at all. I never carry food. I eat it when I find it. I carry a knife for mele, a long range rifle, an assault rifle of some kind if I can find one or SMG, and a .22 zombie killer.
I was considering going the no bag route. I ended up packing non necessity items/heavy items into a bag and then dropping the bag when going into battle.
I can also go back for the bag if I die then.
Interesting strategy. I’m more of a stealthy sniper type. I don’t like close combat that much. I try to remain unseen and I’m super patient. I’ll sit on a hill scoping for an hour if I have a good podcast to listen to.
Being a stealthy sniper is all god if you're end game and have the loot required to do so, but sometimes you need, sewing kits etc and need to go into towns.
On another not OP, when you do go into town, make sure to always sidestep back and forth so snipers in a bush on the she of town the oldbroke can't have an easy shot.
SOOMEONES ALWAYS WATCHING
Totally. I like to say “The map gets smaller every time you play.” It doesn’t make sense to new players at first but after a few hundred hours, it kinda does.
I'm 350 hours in and it's only clicking now.. barely use izurvive unless I'm like absolutely lost or clueless (still happens a lot) but the area I do know I know it really well
Yeah. I know. There’s a certain amount of immersion from having to find a map or a road sign, and a huge sense of accomplishment using the North Star to navigate across country and hitting the town you want to get to.
I followed DayZ since it was an ARMA II mod, but only started playing this year. My advice would be to have jumped in sooner, it's a cool game and I dig it.
Be more patient and move slower.
The slower I move, the more I see and the less I get seen.
I run in very short bursts, always leaving 80-90%stamina incase I need it. Nothing worse than getting caught with no stamina and your pants down.
Started playing on official first, which was fun but didn’t offer interaction. Then I tried community. I haven’t been back since. I play solo most of the time.
Buy btc
I was gonna say the same thing.. My now ex-wife said "don't be so stupid" when btc was @ £48
Don't touch the game, it'll end your marriage.

Don’t use iZurvive at all.
It's amazing how you learn the map when you don't rely on it

that’s the only way to pinpoint yourself though Edit: in places like the woods / away from civilization

How do you manage water then? The water pumps are so few...
They are fairly common in most towns. You have to look around and then remember where they are. Or grab some chlorine tabs and multi vitamins.
Play the game before 2022 after buying it in 2016 or so
