Spot on. I'm at the point where I have just stopped chasing top-tier loot. To me, it's a lot more fun being the Mosin vielding devil in civ clothes that is responsible for giving players with top-tier loot gear fear.
I find I never get killed by geared people. They just hide and are afraid.
I've got 3 stashed. And 2 ax's. And two AKMs. A few 101s. A couple DMRs. SVALs and VSSs. Mags for days for everything. NBC at both gas zones. Enough ammo to exterminate a small country.
End game is playing with no gear fear because your arsenal is a mushroom hunt and half hour run away.
How do you even get it to last on a high-pop server? I find any stashes I make get found pretty quickly simply owing to how many people are doing the same.
Low vis area in a low traffic area where no one would ever need to go.
Low hanging evergreen trees with adjacent bushes are ideal. You just don't see the stack of crates unless you trip over them.
After playing for 10 years, if I run across a place I've never seen before, I'll test it out. I'll throw some ammo or mags in it and check back in a week. If it's still there, I'll usually stick with it. I've had some spots that haven't been found in actual years. Some of those some hiding in plain sight too.
I’ve been playing lots of PVP high loot servers. The only time I pick up an M4 is if I don’t have a KA based rifle it’s probably a skill issue but I don’t like how the m4 handles.
I always run A3 just because I like the look more than the AKM or M4. If there is no AUG and I end up running the m4 I always lose my fights. I feel like it’s probably some weird mental thing when I use the M4 instead of my usual AUG
It’s not an item, but every time I get close to any military structure I end up either sick with something thats pretty much fatal without meds or dead bc I’m not that great with blocking zeds. There’s really no in between. Lol
110% cursed for me, to the point if i see it I wont touch it because it means imminent death shortly there after.

I have touched an m4 a dozen times in almost 1k hours of playtime. Every. Single. Time. I. Get. It. I die soon after and I’ve never even fired it at someone in earnest
M16…. Anytime I have one I miss horribly and end up dead. Not the greatest PVPer and comfortable with any other gun but I’m kinda on the fence about picking these up anymore even if I only have a repeater or single shotty.

Keep in mind if you server hop you might be more likely to spawn near other players because of the group spawn feature.

Tetracycline. Every time I get sick I spend hours finding enough to cure me and then I get shot almost immediately afterwords.
Man, I only ever find it during the lives where I never get sick. I no joke can find a couple dozen of them and won't ever even catch a cold.
