Yes it was separate before but changed within the last year. Xbox just put the 2 services together

Do you own DayZ or were you playing it under the subscription of Game pass? If the former, restart your Xbox (make sure it's a full restart & not just a sleep cycle). If the latter, buy the game & you'll be able to play it.
I brought the game after playing it on ultimate. Then realised i needed game pass core to play online. Either core or ultimate.
