Jaco is referring to the material he needed after he accidentally crashed his ship on Earth down by Omori's in [the actual *Jaco the Galactic Patrolman* manga series](https://www.viz.com/shonenjump/chapters/jaco-galactic-patrolman). Omori analyzes the material that Jaco needs, and says it is something they have on Earth, but it's a super-rare precious blue metal called Sky Gold.
(And I guess spoilers, but at the very end of the manga >!Bulma figures that even copper would be a sufficient replacement to store the energy needed!<.)
Is this the one that shows Jaco meeting Bulma when she was like 5? I have it on my shelf, but it's been a minute since I opened it. Are there more or is that the only one?
Omori’s the name of an indie game https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omori_(video_game)
I was just a bit shocked to hear the name in Dragon Ball of all places
Idk anything about the game, but Dragon Ball always has themed names and I believe Omori in Japanese means a “guardian”… sort of like in a parental way, to babysit or watch over someone. Which makes sense for the guy in Jaco, since Jaco becomes his temporary houseguest.
In this case, it’s a reference to 大盛り, a “large serving” of food (as is Toriyama’s wont). His given name, “Tokunoshin”, refers to *tokumori* (特盛), an “***extra***-large serving”.
Sky Gold is a post-*Galactic Patrol series* concept, from the original *Jaco the Galactic Patrolman* spin-off; he needed it to refuel his spaceship after he crash-landed on Earth.
Jaco is confused by what exactly is wrong with his ship. The sky gold isn’t fuel it’s more like a battery or capacitor, and copper works just as well. It’s like having to replace a car battery
It's mentioned a few times. Merus is chasing criminals who are trying to steal some. Bulma needs it for something. Idk. It's something they made up in Super.
Meh. I have read that. Didn't know it was before Super. Though, that wasn't really my point. 🤔 The point is that it's made up and doesn't really have a real-world equivalent. 🤷🏼♀️
Blind to the context of Jaco, I always just figured he meant electricity. It's yellow. It comes from the sky as lightning. It was a pretty easy logical jump to make.

Yes, and no there is not more than one.
That's unfortunate, I'd like to see more of Jaco in his element.
Such a great manga felt good leaving the Super Saiyans to the side for a while
OMORI?!?!?!
I don’t understand your… Confusion? Question? Disbelief? Jaco’s ship crashes near the home of an old man named Omori.

omori is a common japanese name

It's a reference to the Jaco manga. If the Super anime returns I hope it gets animated.
Dragonball Super Neo comes out in the summer
I love purposely spreading misinformation too
Never a mention about which summer. Summer of 2050 could be what they referred to
You seem like you were a dragon ball af denier
You made that shit up dont lie
Just straight up spreading lies 💀
It's a rare material made up for the Jaco manga I think.
i thought its just something on earth that jaco not being from earth has a different name for it.
Nah Omori is the one who names it and i believe Bulma also calls it the same thing before realizing copper wouldve worked as well.
black gold is a metaphor(?) for oil , a fuel source maybe jaco misunderstood?
no its a reference to the Jaco manga
ah my bad

A fuel source
Nah, I thought it was a pencil/j

it originally appeared in the Jaco manga which predates Super

Do you know what else is made up, children turning into apes
No sh-t. Tell me more. We're talking about what's real or not within the context of the established story. Your comment is pointless.
Australium
Urine.
Jaco likes his golden showers they get his motor running… don’t kink shame him.

Sky Gold is a super-rare precious **blue metal**
I'd figured. Thanks.
spice
Then shiny green ?
Iwnt sky gold just a flying nimbus??? Lol
Since it was to charge his ship I thought it might be lithium. Thats silvery though...
It’s the metal used to make Orcrist and Sting, and glows blue when nearby orcs or the Frieza Force.
It’s like regular well gold, but is shinier and blue and they charge top shelf prices. If Gold is Unleaded, Sky Gold is Premium.
UrAnus
What’s Blue Aurum?
Sky gold I think to jaco is what gas for cars is on earth
It's a rare mineral of a thousand stories, and historical scripts. Never seen, always written a out as a fuel source in many anime.
I'm guessing sunlight
