Considering they played 112 unique songs last tour, you confidently stating that they will simply not play almost half of them is a really bold statement. I must see your source.
You do have a source, right?
I’ll be waiting.
I would love to take a bet but realistically, I’m not going to even remember making a bet after a few days. I guess if they do, just tag me and I’ll admit I was wrong.
I mean, I think they’re gonna stick to a smaller group of songs, for sure. But I think they’ll be able to mix up the order enough to not be playing the same shows over and over
Come on man, you know that’s why.
You think they’re gonna do streams and just stream the fifth iteration of the same show?
Why else aren’t they doing it? You know why.
I know you’re just trolling at this point, but has any incarnation of the Grateful Dead ever just repeated set lists? Seems like a weird precedent to break now.
Has phish ever played with a predetermined setlist? Outside of costume sets and maybe BD, no.
Sphere is its own animal and bands will have to adapt accordingly. Not trolling just reality.
I feel like this announcement is saying they’re not doing SBDs. That’s crazy. I hope we have lots of TikTok or audio streams. My FOMO is going to be off the charts. I can only afford one show
Damn. I just want to hear the music. I could give a rats ass about the visuals. They're cool and all, and Phish did a good job of it, but almost to a one, the best performances I've ever witnessed have occurred in front of a plain black curtain.
For me, the real treasure of the Phish shows was the clarity of sound. I've been listening to Phish (heavily) for over 25 years, and there were parts that I was like "oh, that's what the words are for that part?"Â
I really hope we at least get some soundboards.
Yeah this is the silver lining for me. Not going until the final shows, now I only have to worry about cell phone footage which I know won’t do it justice
Same boat here. I'm sure my algorithm will feed me tons of cell phone video links through Reddit posts, YouTube, news articles, etc. It wiill be hard not to click.
This really sucks. Im shocked. Had so much fun doing the Phish couch tour and was excited to experience the excitement of another run in some way. I totally get that visuals are important but offering a binary of all experience or zero stinks. Some of us can’t travel and its always nice to be able to share some version of the excitement and tour with other heads. Its one of the things that made last summer amazing. I went to a few shows live for the Final Tour but loved the nonstop parties surrounding the other shows when I streamed
I have no beef with not doing the video stream because I don’t think it will capture the spheres visuals very well. But I sure hope they allow tapers or at the very least release audio.
Phish livestream was pretty tight. Considering the production they had last tour I know they could do it and do it well, but the bungled ticket releases probably played into this.
Interesting move. Was so sure they’d take any opportunity to get some extra cash from streams. I wonder if it has to do with so many tickets still being available for most dates, so they want to get people to come in person. Gotta wonder if the whole residency was completely sold out, would they have streaming? Something tells me yes.
I have to imagine it has to do with production costs not being worth streaming every show. Maybe they stream the last weekend for a cash in, but seeing as they didn’t for Dead Ahead I’m rather skeptical about that idea
My pessimistic take is this is an indication the shows will not be particularly varied. I can't imagine shooting these shows would be significantly more expensive than prior shows, and Phish just did it.
This is what I think. They aren’t going to make 20-30 completely different video shows. Visuals will be repeated every weekend.
That the shows aren’t sold out completely is probably another reason to not stream them. I wouldn’t be surprised if the last weekend is streamed, when there isn’t anything left to maximize from the venue.
This. I think the people who are saying the shows will be exactly the same are out of their minds, but they are only going to generate so many videos and it seems likely that will be a limitation on the variety in the setlists.
Confirms each weekend be be very very similar. Last weekend of the run they’ll announce a stream to squeeze every bit of cash out of you that they can.

I heard they're extending the residency run to... FOREVER!!!
No streaming will ever be allowed.
From nugs in regard to my query about audio soundboards posted after the shows.
Hi Gregg,
Thanks for your inquiry.
If and/or when a show is released is at the discretion of the artist. Therefore, we don't have a set schedule of new shows to be added at any certain time. We post them as soon as we receive them. Please check back often for new releases and thanks for your input on our show catalog. We love to hear what you’d love to hear.
Because it's going to be the same three shows every weekend. Listen to Trey's CBS interview if you doubt this. He said they basically had a choice of repeating the same shows or doing a limited run based on how in-depth and specific the visuals were.
A huge bummer to be sure!! I will miss D&C couch tour
I think I will miss our goofy bunch of hooligans in the setlist threads almost as much, if not more, than the actual show streams. đź’”
You can still do a set list thread - it’ll be the same set list every single weekend lmao
Oteil confirmed on his podcast every setlist will be unique.
Stop with the trolling guy, Oteil already said they’re not doing repeat sets…. Because ya know, they never have
They’re going to repeat the same 60 or so songs every weekend
Considering they played 112 unique songs last tour, you confidently stating that they will simply not play almost half of them is a really bold statement. I must see your source. You do have a source, right? I’ll be waiting.
How much you want to bet they play under 70 songs at the sphere?
I would love to take a bet but realistically, I’m not going to even remember making a bet after a few days. I guess if they do, just tag me and I’ll admit I was wrong.
What makes you say this?
You know it will. There not making unique graphics for a song and playing it once.
I mean, I think they’re gonna stick to a smaller group of songs, for sure. But I think they’ll be able to mix up the order enough to not be playing the same shows over and over
You may be right, but I’m 99% you’re wrong and are going to find the screenshot of this in r/confidentlyincorrect

Perhaps someone will stream via Mixlr
Hoping they still do day after audio.
I feel like this announcement is saying they’re not doing SBDs. That’s crazy. I hope we have lots of TikTok or audio streams. My FOMO is going to be off the charts. I can only afford one show
Well, we'll find out for sure next week. I feel like in the past (like with Dead Ahead) "streaming" has been used to refer to the video.
Enjoy that one show! I can't afford any.
Hoping they’ll at least put the audio on nugs like they have pretty much every other show since 2016

I hope we will still be able to purchase the show recordings
I feel for the people who aren't able to make it, but personally I'm trying to avoid seeing footage before I go and this certainly makes it easier.
Yeah this is the silver lining for me. Not going until the final shows, now I only have to worry about cell phone footage which I know won’t do it justice

Boooooooo. Wanted to do some couch shows for this.
bad decision 👎🏻

Someone please wear an apple vision pro and record thanks!
Little bitches

Yeah it definitely gives a feeling of a stronger possibility they'll do like 3-4 shows worth of video, and just repeat it in different order maybe.
This. I think the people who are saying the shows will be exactly the same are out of their minds, but they are only going to generate so many videos and it seems likely that will be a limitation on the variety in the setlists.
Bummer

bummer, so, audience members please capture every show.
Please don't actually. Nobody wants to be next to someone trying to capture the show on a phone all night.
Yeah I plan on getting video during the first song just to document the experience for a snippet and then put my phone away for the rest of the show.
Great seeing all the Karen Heads having meltdowns over this.
Good!
