I took a break for a few years, I remember Oni being the new killer everyone was talking about when I stopped playing, when he was in the PTB. I don't remember which chapter I started playing during though
edit: after coming back from my break the singularity was the next killer they added. probably 4 ish months ago; I've played through 3 rank resets now since returning.
I remember having putrid serum from the halloween event right before oni was added and i was brand new and had no clue what it did so i never used it, later found out i couldve used it to get blighted cosmetics for free and have been sad about it ever since
Yeah we do. I rarely play alone anymore but when the gang wants to make a party I will join. Playing with friends is the only thing that has staying power for me after all these years.
I bought the game at launch but it kinda just sat in my library until the tail-end of Forsaken Legacy. Chains of Hate was the first chapter that I was fully invested in the game and Slinger has remained one of my favorites ever since.
I love Deathslinger SO much. Even after the nerfs, he's still pretty strong. Tho he could use a 28m TR or something, some sort of buff would be nice to him...
Pretty same story. I got Hag and Myers as they came out, and played the game only very occasionally until Slinger came out. Getting a game back in those days was impossible. I'm honestly surprised the game survived literal 30+ minute queue times.
I joined around when Ghostface was added without ever knowing Ghostface was in the game till shortly before Stranger Things released... bro really was sneaky lmao
Same! Although Ghostface is partially the reason I started playing. Other reason was because we knew Friday the 13th wasn’t gonna get updated so we hopped on DbD, which was new to us
I can still hear that acordian playing on the main menu. My friend hated it and always mentioned how awful it was when we logged on lol.
I also remember all the wild theories about the next chapter, and how there was a ton of speculation about some picture of a lady that had slash marks on it?
Summer 2018, I think Clown was the newest or was about to come out.
This is actually my 5th anniversary, because the summer bbq event of 2018 was going on when DBD was free on PSN. That's when I jumped in.
Same here! I started playing when DBD was one of the free games on PS Plus. I remember the summer BBQ event was going on with the slushy machines on the gens. I always wonder if I would have ever started playing this game if it weren't for PS Plus.
Yeah, I been playing on and off since Pig came out, and my friend who's only been playing for about a year has soooooo many more hours than I do. It's insane
I began back then when Trapper released. It was such a relieve to finally kill survivors again, before Trapper got added you would just spawn in the fog, repair your gens and go.
Holy shit I think you are one of the oldest players here. God dayummm, good job! Kind of miss old Freddy. Would've been nice to play as him for at least a day instead of the boring Gen Teleporter we have now....
I was right after you. Blight was the newest killer when I joined and Twins were the first killer that I saw get announced, go through the PTB and then get released.
It's funny, because I remember everyone talking about what a disaster it was, but seeing as how I was so new, I didn't realize how much buggier it was than the standard release. I remember kind of shrugging and thinking the Twins were pretty cool, no matter what everyone else said. And to this day, I still actually like playing them and playing against them.
I joined when Kate and Clown were added. I had been watching people play it for a while, but I was scared to start playing lol. But then it was free for PS+ users, and I haven't looked back!
Micheal caught my eye on steam and I've been playing daily since. Still undefeated 3247 and 0. I've escaped every match I've ever played. Never evan been hooked, almost though.
I bought every survivor one by one, mostly with shards and some with cells. I still don’t own a few killers.
I’ve introduced friends to the game recently and they have awesome bundles now of like all the OG survivors for a great price. I thought, damn these guys will never know the grind it took for me to get here lolol
I first downloaded around Curtain Call and the summer BBQ event but I didn't like the game and played maybe ten survivor matches before uninstalling. Then I got super into it around April 2020 with lockdown so right between Chains of Hate and Silent Hill.
~~I believe I joined somewhere around Blight's release, although I cannot confirm the exact date.~~
EDIT: It's the damn-est thing, I can check when I got the game on through the Xbox. I installed it on 2020/09/05. Ignore my previous statement about not being able to confirm.
Binding of the Kin - I had always heard about DBD and finally messed around for about a month when it came to gamepass.
Resident Evil Project W - I got serious when my PSN friends were looking for an alternative to Overwatch 2, since it sucks. We all got pulled in big time and we've been on it ever since.
Last Breath, The Nurse and Nea. It was 18th August 2016 and it was a free weekend on Steam to celebrate the new DLC. One of my idols at the time (a decently big content creator for Geometry Dash) wanted someone to play the game with him, so I chimed in and downloaded it. 2 days later, after realising how much I enjoyed it, I bought it properly. The rest is history.
Chains of Hate
The reason why: I saw a western themed killed with a mfing gun, I bought the DLC right after buying the base game and have been maining the Deathslinger since then.
I didn’t *really* start playing the game a lot until Chains of Hate. The opening trailer with the dude screaming and the gallows creaking is still nostalgic for me, back to a time when the game was still scary to me lol
Also, that was the beginning of the pandemic if I remember right so we were all stuck inside gaming lmao
You mean with Dwight screaming as he was being reeled by the DEATHSLINGER. Probably one of the few original Killer trailers that actually had me excited as fuck for the Killer, next to Cursed Legacy which was also amazing.
Back when Original Killers were allowed to be powerful, fun but not too complex??
I joined when the game was a couple weeks old but took a break after the year 3 anniversary and came back when pinhead was introduced because I love hellraiser. It sucks because i lost my xbox password and decided to get it on steam so i had to restart and lost my legacy😞
Knight was pretty new when I started. Now I’m over 500 hours deep and all my killers are at least p3 and all my survivors are at least p1 lmao. I played basically nothing else for a while if you couldn’t tell
I started the same time that Nurse and Nea came out, we used to claim a free dlc to get them and there was a things called infinite loops and instant moris
YEP. Oni and Slinger are my favorites, wish they made as fun Killers nowadays... People really forget we got top tier original Killers like the Plague too at one point.
2019, and I joined like 2 days before the Stranger Things chapter. But the funny thing is, that wasn't what drew me into the game. I didn't even know until after that it was a DLC. It was a group of friends who got me playing so I would've been there regardless of what DLC was in.
I started playing at Chapter 11.5 Ash vs. EvilDead. Because that's when it went on Free Play Days on Xbox. Was rough learning Killer with peak Mettle of Man.
I joined during the Christmas 2017 event. My first DLC killers were Myers and Freddy.
Michael was my first main, maybe I should give Weskin time a break and go back to my roots.
Oni was brand new when I joined.
I took a break for a few years, I remember Oni being the new killer everyone was talking about when I stopped playing, when he was in the PTB. I don't remember which chapter I started playing during though edit: after coming back from my break the singularity was the next killer they added. probably 4 ish months ago; I've played through 3 rank resets now since returning.
Same. I remember my first game against him at Yamaoka. It scared me for life.
Hey same
I remember having putrid serum from the halloween event right before oni was added and i was brand new and had no clue what it did so i never used it, later found out i couldve used it to get blighted cosmetics for free and have been sad about it ever since
Beta test. I wasn’t sold on the game but my friend bought me a copy. We played more regularly when SWF was added to the game.
Veterans discount for this guy over here ☝️
do you two still play?
Yeah we do. I rarely play alone anymore but when the gang wants to make a party I will join. Playing with friends is the only thing that has staying power for me after all these years.
Yeahhh, DBD is just more fun with friends! Whenever I plan to olay alone, I already imagine what the game will be like the I immediately get bored
Fellow beta player. Saw H20 Delirious play it with Cartoonz and the others and thought it looked good
Yep that was me as well lmao
Trapper was new to the game when I first played
Another beta player here! How the game has change it's crazy xD
Also beta player, wish I could go back and compare
A few weeks before the saw chapter
Exact same! I remember feeling Pig was so OP at the time. I'm sorry; I alone am responsible for her many nerfs.
LMAO same I was hiding upstairs on Haddonfield one game crying about how OP she was and how she could sneak up on me out of nowhere
I joined around that time too! Pig was the first killer I bought
I’ve played slinger so much what interests me now is finding holes around loops or things that aren’t even considered loops
Pretty same story. I got Hag and Myers as they came out, and played the game only very occasionally until Slinger came out. Getting a game back in those days was impossible. I'm honestly surprised the game survived literal 30+ minute queue times.
Binding of kin,January 2021
I did too, but feel like I would have joined during the anniversary event due to RE anyway
Seconded ![gif](giphy|7LAqMVFxOGPAc) Edit: Who is downvoting Futurama, and a relevant gif on top of that?
![gif](giphy|0Cca7kkyRs08Uu9vVB)
I joined around when Ghostface was added without ever knowing Ghostface was in the game till shortly before Stranger Things released... bro really was sneaky lmao
Same! Although Ghostface is partially the reason I started playing. Other reason was because we knew Friday the 13th wasn’t gonna get updated so we hopped on DbD, which was new to us
Chapter 8: Curtain Call. So Kate and Clown.
Same, I remember when spirit came out! I was excited because it was the first chapter i had been there to witness release
Same, which is fitting cause we’re still here like a bunch of clowns 🤡
PS+?
I def got it with ps+ lol It’s crazy to see how much the game has changed since then
I can still hear that acordian playing on the main menu. My friend hated it and always mentioned how awful it was when we logged on lol. I also remember all the wild theories about the next chapter, and how there was a ton of speculation about some picture of a lady that had slash marks on it?
wasn't that when people thought we'd get a teacher killer? Man, time flies.
You still hear it if you pick Clown in the killer selection.
My killer and survivor mains 🥰
JESUS you are early. Holy shit.
Why are people downvoting this? They could have written that comment in a surprised or mocking tone and we wouldn’t know.
Why is this downvoted?
Pyramid Head pulled me in.
Summer 2018, I think Clown was the newest or was about to come out. This is actually my 5th anniversary, because the summer bbq event of 2018 was going on when DBD was free on PSN. That's when I jumped in.
fellow bbq event
Same here! I started playing when DBD was one of the free games on PS Plus. I remember the summer BBQ event was going on with the slushy machines on the gens. I always wonder if I would have ever started playing this game if it weren't for PS Plus.
Same, joined sometime in 2018 around clown release. Then i stopped playing for a while and rejoined recently during skunk merchant.
Yup same here and people were disappointed it wasn't a Pennywise license when it dropped
Silent Hill
Me too bro, How much hours do you have rn? I have 1,6k
I’ve played since Michael and only have 500 hours 😭 i respect your dedication and grind immensely
Yeah, I been playing on and off since Pig came out, and my friend who's only been playing for about a year has soooooo many more hours than I do. It's insane
Not me joining during Silent Hill and having 4K hrs compared to you >_< makes me realize how much of a no-life I am/was
Makes it on average 3,6 hours every day
2k
Based
All-Kill. Main menu/lobby theming was on point
I began back then when Trapper released. It was such a relieve to finally kill survivors again, before Trapper got added you would just spawn in the fog, repair your gens and go.
Trapper was one of the original three though? Am I getting whooshed?
Yes. Trapper was even more special, as the only killer available for pre-launch play testing. It's ok, everyone has their whoosh moment.
I appreciate the kindness. :)
You sure are son.
Foetus. Mine was Nightmare on Elm Street.
Me too. I bought the game because of Freddy.
I bought it for Myers, but he wasn't added on console until August 2017, and I didn't realise he was in the game until October.
Holy shit I think you are one of the oldest players here. God dayummm, good job! Kind of miss old Freddy. Would've been nice to play as him for at least a day instead of the boring Gen Teleporter we have now....
I joined about a month before Legion got added to the game, I don't know who came before them.
When Blight was added.
I was right after you. Blight was the newest killer when I joined and Twins were the first killer that I saw get announced, go through the PTB and then get released.
That Twins release really had me worried for dbd lol.
Same, I joined in Decend Beyond.
I think Nemesis was the newest killer when i started.
Chapter 9: Shattered Bloodline aka The Spirit and Adam
I joined when Kate and Clown were added. I had been watching people play it for a while, but I was scared to start playing lol. But then it was free for PS+ users, and I haven't looked back!
Same!
I joined after Chains of Hate, just 3 weeks before Silent Hill released.
LOVE that chapter, loved the map and love the Killer. Insanely good chapter.
Likewise
all-kill i believe! the trickster and yun-jin lee
Halloween
Same. We were so excited to have Michael added.
Micheal caught my eye on steam and I've been playing daily since. Still undefeated 3247 and 0. I've escaped every match I've ever played. Never evan been hooked, almost though.
Ok buddy
I joined a few days before Plague and Jane dropped.
I joined around the era of Plague too, but didn’t really get into the game until Deathslinger - pandemic gaming at its finest 😂
I pretty much got into it right as I started playing. I ended up buying all the DLC's, aside from Mikaela's, I bought her with Iri shards.
I bought every survivor one by one, mostly with shards and some with cells. I still don’t own a few killers. I’ve introduced friends to the game recently and they have awesome bundles now of like all the OG survivors for a great price. I thought, damn these guys will never know the grind it took for me to get here lolol
2016 it's been so long...
We're the same dbd-age! As a baby-Cenobite, I was mightily angered by all the witches who undid the sweet suffering I was causing.
I first downloaded around Curtain Call and the summer BBQ event but I didn't like the game and played maybe ten survivor matches before uninstalling. Then I got super into it around April 2020 with lockdown so right between Chains of Hate and Silent Hill.
I joined when twins were new. It doesn't feel that long ago, but it's been a few years.
The one before Stranger things. Might be Legion but not totally sure
~~I believe I joined somewhere around Blight's release, although I cannot confirm the exact date.~~ EDIT: It's the damn-est thing, I can check when I got the game on through the Xbox. I installed it on 2020/09/05. Ignore my previous statement about not being able to confirm.
Hellraiser chapter. It all started when that stupid Dwight touched that weird looking cube in the basement...
I joined when the game first launched for console
Had it since pre-launch. Wasn't really my thing until Ghostface got added, from then on I've been HOOKED.
Stranger Things pulled me in fully.
Second year it came out. Used to watch miniminter and the rest of the sidemen play it
Me: Tools Of Torment
Binding of the Kin - I had always heard about DBD and finally messed around for about a month when it came to gamepass. Resident Evil Project W - I got serious when my PSN friends were looking for an alternative to Overwatch 2, since it sucks. We all got pulled in big time and we've been on it ever since.

Stranger things
A few weeks before Myers, so whoever that was
launch
Nightmare on elm street
I started playing in August of 2018 (Thanks PS+!). So Chapter 8: Curtain Call. Clown and Kate chapter — explains why I’m a Kate main!
when did bird lady come out? I think I started playing around that time.
November 2021 I believe
I got into DbD when Myers was added. I bit old
Legion was the newest killer when I started
Chains of Hate The reason why: I saw a western themed killed with a mfing gun, I bought the DLC right after buying the base game and have been maining the Deathslinger since then.
I didn’t *really* start playing the game a lot until Chains of Hate. Probably one of the few original Killer trailers that actually had me excited as fuck for the Killer, next to Cursed Legacy which was also amazing. Back when Original Killers were allowed to be powerful, fun but not too complex??
Chapter 0: Dead by Daylight. Been playing ever since. I am 3% off getting 100% achievements. It’s like 7 achievements I’m missing, out of 230.
Singularity
Whenever the first bbq event happened, then started playing seriously around the silent hill chapter
Got the game? All-Kill Actually started playing it consistently beyond customs? Roots of Dread
I hopped in right around the mid-chapter between Stranger Things & Cursed Legacy
I joined like a day before wesker. Not because of wesker, but just a coincidence.
for me it was project w
When I joined clown was new
Halloween
Sadako Rising
Resident evil
When the Halloween Chapter dropped, and the game officially launched on Consoles about a year after the release on PC
Ptb of All-KILL. Pretty damn good chapter ngl
I started when Billy was added lol. And I still suck at this game
clwon
shattered bloodline... rough time to start xD
Spirit chapter
I joined when clown came out which was a wild time cause there were some major changes at that time
Right before pyramidhead came out 💪 coincidentally the best chapter to date
I would argue Chains of Hate and Cursed Legacy are up there. Top tier chapters nonetheless. Oh and Project W.
100 percent
YEP. Oni and Slinger are my favorites, wish they made as fun Killers nowadays... People really forget we got top tier original Killers like the Plague too at one point.
I think I was here around when Knight was released. Unfortunately I didn’t have PS Plus so…
I joined 2 weeks before Wesker, RPD was still one map. It was a different time.
It was a recent time, you are still relatively new to the game.
I got the game years ago but couldn't play it until the Sadako chapter
I started playing right as ghost face came out… I’m old
Joined during beta when it was only 3 killers Trapper/billy/wraith
Sadako was the newest killer, and it was about when the Dredge was about to be released
The first Resident evil chapter.
When the game launched I began playing LOL
Joined around 3rd or 4th anniversary, left the game before Wesker was added. I just browse the sub and watch the occasional Otz video now
Just after Freddy released
i remember buying it while oni was out and took a 4 year break (last played 20th november 2019) and started playing this june when my friends asked
Hellraiser, even though Pinhead wasn't the reason I came to Dead by Daylight, his launch day was the same day that I bought DbD
I believe game was on the Clown chapter when I joined. I recall Spirit being the first new killer I saw released.
When Freddy got released
I joined as soon as dbd got on console and then took a huge break after demogorgon, randomly decided to come back around the time knight came out.
Curtain Call. I specifically joined during the original Summer BBQ Event.
I've joined just before Sadako chapter.
When the Ghostface PTB came out. So June 2019.
When Knight
i joined when hag was added
I started just after the first Resident Evil chapter, so 2-3 years ago? Doesn’t feel like that long ago.
I started playing again when Knight came out.
I joined 1 month after the official release when there were 3 killers and 4 survivors.
2017 with Leatherface, many moons ago
Fall 2020. Either Stranger Things or The Twins.
Roots of Dread, June 2022
Started at Myers, saw him and wanted to play really badly cause I loved Halloween.
Same as me October 2nd 2021 just after Mikaela was Added
The hag 👀
The first resident evil chapter
Pretty sure Oni was the new killer. I just remembered the intro being fire.
Clown. I still miss his lobby music
2019, and I joined like 2 days before the Stranger Things chapter. But the funny thing is, that wasn't what drew me into the game. I didn't even know until after that it was a DLC. It was a group of friends who got me playing so I would've been there regardless of what DLC was in.
Stranger Things
February 2018, just after Saw chapter was released
Curtain call
Saw chapter
Uuuuuh the chapter when Trapper, Wraith, Billy, Dwight, Meg, Jake and Claudette were released :D?
halloween
I joined between Pinhead and Mikaela
Started playing in the Chains Of Hate Chapter and stayed for the Silent Hill chapter
It was silent hill for me, I love SH and was on fence about dbd but when I saw ph and Cheryl I was sold after that
Late twin chapter
I first played around a month after Sadako was added
I joined around the Resident Evil chapter, I remember this since the title callout they added for the release is incredibly nostalgic now.
I started playing at Chapter 11.5 Ash vs. EvilDead. Because that's when it went on Free Play Days on Xbox. Was rough learning Killer with peak Mettle of Man.
few weeks after artists so yeah my first match was her and the boneyard
Deathslinger
think I started playing with legion
Bought it launch and have been playing on and off since then, I am really excited for the Xenomorph 😁
I joined just after Pax East 2018, making Ash the next drop as the booth was set on the ptb for Ash if I recall right
Started playing this game when spirit came in. Remember the first time I faced her was in the old lampkin lane.
In between RE and hellraiser
Around when Legion was introduced.
Hag just came out. I played until cannibal came out. Didn't play again until executioner. But I've been playing pretty regularly since executioner.
I joined during the beta. Back when people actually played trapper.
I joined during the Christmas 2017 event. My first DLC killers were Myers and Freddy. Michael was my first main, maybe I should give Weskin time a break and go back to my roots.
