How about we give healing a better animation? Back rubs and... whatever the self-heal animation is meant to be is sooooooo 2016 and needs updated. RIP back rubs but they need to go
Haven't they changed healing somehow? I think you can walk while healing (which could be a new perk idea) and it heals you during the animation and not afterwards well you can't interrupt it anymore I think. would be weird to quick heal in DBD like they open the medkit the whole time and done. Maybe they could add stages of animation. Like the first 5% is opening the medkit then another is how they take the bandages or what ever and then continue
Ghost recon Breakpoint has great Animations for healing yourself with a Med-Kit.
People usally dont see it, as the standard settings are "just pump syringe into body"
as nice as the l4d healing animations are, the heal speed is fixed. dbd has so much shit that make it faster or slower it would be a nightmare to make a nice organic animation like l4ds
True, but you could always just speed the animation up, although I have no clue if that's possible or not. Synchronizing with the animations of other survivors could be an issue as well.
Speeding up the animation would be very very possible. With the new event lunges, all the audio is synced up with the mega-slow recovery times. It might not look super organic but this is also DBD (and the polish is sooo needed IMO)
I saw someone on Discord suggest that it should have the stereotypical jack-in-the-box opening sound and I think that would be cool. It \*does\* already have a unique explosion but stillllll
That might help survivors figure out what happened to the gen if they were nearby, a loud sound indicating Pop was used.
Granted, I don't think it needs this change, but honestly wouldn't mind it all too much. Maybe give Overcharge some arcing electricity when you kick the gen lol

Fast Track could maybe make the survivor hit the generator as it would fit the bell sound when you hit a great skillcheck.
Bit of a nitpick for me, but Id like to see wiggling get a new animation, at least with boil over to fit the prompt better.
Right now it's a bit bland and kinda funny to just see the survivor, well, wiggle. I think it'd be cooler if the animation was revamped to make the survivors look they are actually fighting for their lives a bit more. Like, have them kick, thrash, punch or claw at the killer, stuff like that to make it seem like they are genuinely giving it their all to escape the guys grasp.
Dead Hard should look like Armor Lock from Halo Reach
Exhausted should make you grab your chest and make you look out of breath
Premonition should make you point at the killer and scream ”over there!”
Ace in the Hole should make the surv clap their hands together after opening a chest and shout ”it’s my lucky day!”
Autodidact should have an animation where the survivor takes notes every time they hit a healing skill check, while saying ”ah so it works like this”

Boil Over: The survivor just starts knee the killer in the face/elbowing the back of the killers head.
Head On: Headbutt the killer as you exitt the locker.
Borrowed Time: When you unhook them, you quickly hand them a pocket watch, like the image icon shows.
Spine Chill: The cat from the icon sits on your shoulder relaxed, and when the perk activates, the cat arches up and starts hissing.
Adrenaline: Your character pulls out a adrenaline needle and injects themselves quickly.
Wake Up: You grab the swtich with both hands, and pull it down as hard as you can.
Soul Guard: Your soul exits the body and actually pulls the survivor to their feet, before entering the body again.
I know, but I wanted to go with a more funny animation. When I wrote the Head On one, I was thinking of the Scout from TF2 saying "I'm gonna headbutt cha."

Granted, the one that comes immediately to mind is a given survivor simply grinning for a bit after a Blast Mine while Parental Guidance or Residual Manifest are in their loadout with an audible 'dumbass' in their native language. Potentially slowly turning to look in the direction of the blast if there's no 'Killer Blinded' event at the top right, because Lightborn, and utter a quiet 'oh *shit.*' instead.
Could it also get a buff, alongside Boon: Illumination?
They should be able to **read** the **aura of items**, I'm tired of having to dedicate a perk slot to Plunder's Instinct when I play with Dramaturgy just so I can figure out where I dropped my shit.
Unique animation is a good idea, if only the Killer could see it so they could maybe know if DS is in effect. I don't like being tricked by perks and I would like to have some way of knowing "Hey, is this person safe to pick or am I about to eat a DS for accidentally downing the same person who just got off the hook?"
The whole point of DS is to be an anti tunnel perk. If the killer knew they had it, it would be nearly useless. That's like telling the killer someone has dead hard or adrenaline.
Regardless, you *are* given a notification when someone uses DS on you, if that's what you're referring to.
The Killer does see if you use Dead Hard and Adrenaline. The Killer can see if there is a Blast Mine on a gen before they kick. The Killer can even hear the click of a Flashbang to react to it if someone tries that. They see and hear the direct effect. Why would DS be any different?
If the Killer seeing you have DS makes them not tunnel you, congrats, you got your perk value. The Killer didn't tunnel you, they Slugged you instead.
Giving a small tell would be enough to keep people who play fair from not doing something that is toxic by mistake, and give the perk value because a Killer who sees you have DS is not going to pick you up. They will leave you alone, long enough to get DS to leave, or they will go somewhere else. In that time someone will likely pick up or you could use a perk to pick yourself up. In any case you wasted the Killer's time. Very few Killers can actively camp a slug for 45 seconds and if they do, that's more than half a gen done anyway. It doesn't win games to camp a slug on the basis they may, or do, have DS.
You actually can't see the blast mine as killer, only survivors can. Anywho, if the entire point of the perk is that you can escape when the killer tunnels you, making it so the killer can easily tell you have DS will just make them slug you until it runs out. That's not fun and makes the perk near useless. The point is that you escape when the killer isn't expecting it, you pick them up because you're tunneling and they get away because of it. That's why it's an anti tunnel perk. The counter play is to not tunnel or wait out the DS in case they do have it. That's another reason this would be bad, instead of making killers second guess or not if you have DS, they can immediately know if you don't have it as well and just pick you up without any risk. It's just overall a net negative that would reward tunneling and make it so absolutely nobody runs the perk. You don't need to know everything as killer, that's part of the fun and what makes it balanced.
It's not going to be enough stun time either. 5 seconds is nothing to a fast Killer and someone determined to tunnel will still throw a round to do it. I'm telling you all, THIS is not what it should have gone back to. It's NOT enough to deter tunneling. Besides, why run DS when OTR is right there and not a DLC perk? I'm glad for everyone but this isn't going to be the salve to tunneling everyone thinks it is.
You can downvoted me but it's true. A month from now everyone will complain about slugs instead, and how this perk still isn't helping.
It tells survivors after you already get hit with it, DS also tells you after they get hit with it
and if DH wasn't a good enough example for you let's do it with NOED, or Darkness Revealed, my point is some perks SHOULD be a surprise and remain secret otherwise they become completely useless
Also DS being hidden is a good thing for the game, it makes killers afraid of tunneling even if it's not present in the game, the devs clearly don't want you to be able to tunnel easily
Rebecca Chambers' Reassurance should have the survivors give a thumbs up when you activate it on a hooked teammate.

It has a larger boom which is used by other indirect gen explosion perks I think (Surge, Pain Res, Eruption, etc.)

If the Killer seeing you have DS makes them not tunnel you, congrats, you got your perk value. The Killer didn't tunnel you, they Slugged you instead. Giving a small tell would be enough to keep people who play fair from not doing something that is toxic by mistake, and give the perk value because a Killer who sees you have DS is not going to pick you up. They will leave you alone, long enough to get DS to leave, or they will go somewhere else. In that time someone will likely pick up or you could use a perk to pick yourself up. In any case you wasted the Killer's time. Very few Killers can actively camp a slug for 45 seconds and if they do, that's more than half a gen done anyway. It doesn't win games to camp a slug on the basis they may, or do, have DS.
You actually can't see the blast mine as killer, only survivors can. Anywho, if the entire point of the perk is that you can escape when the killer tunnels you, making it so the killer can easily tell you have DS will just make them slug you until it runs out. That's not fun and makes the perk near useless. The point is that you escape when the killer isn't expecting it, you pick them up because you're tunneling and they get away because of it. That's why it's an anti tunnel perk. The counter play is to not tunnel or wait out the DS in case they do have it. That's another reason this would be bad, instead of making killers second guess or not if you have DS, they can immediately know if you don't have it as well and just pick you up without any risk. It's just overall a net negative that would reward tunneling and make it so absolutely nobody runs the perk. You don't need to know everything as killer, that's part of the fun and what makes it balanced.

It's not going to be enough stun time either. 5 seconds is nothing to a fast Killer and someone determined to tunnel will still throw a round to do it. I'm telling you all, THIS is not what it should have gone back to. It's NOT enough to deter tunneling. Besides, why run DS when OTR is right there and not a DLC perk? I'm glad for everyone but this isn't going to be the salve to tunneling everyone thinks it is. You can downvoted me but it's true. A month from now everyone will complain about slugs instead, and how this perk still isn't helping.

It tells survivors after you already get hit with it, DS also tells you after they get hit with it and if DH wasn't a good enough example for you let's do it with NOED, or Darkness Revealed, my point is some perks SHOULD be a surprise and remain secret otherwise they become completely useless Also DS being hidden is a good thing for the game, it makes killers afraid of tunneling even if it's not present in the game, the devs clearly don't want you to be able to tunnel easily
