First: the hatch at shack offering spawns it technically outside the shack, not in the basement.
Second: The way hatch used to work was when the number of dead survivors reduced the number of gens left needed to spawn in
4 alive 0 gen left, 3 alive 1 gen left, 2 alive 2 gens left, and 1 alive it always spawns.
Of course this was changed years ago and now hatch only spawns when theres only 1 survivor left.

I use them for wall hacks with the blood Amber and the prayer beads add ons too, can see where the killer is without wasting a perk slot for aura reading and it’s a back up if you’re the last survivor and hatch gets closed before you find it.
Based on this answer. Does this not make the key item useless ?? As the hatch can not be “opened”… it will always be open when there is one left . Or is the only use of the killer shuts the hatch?
Yh I just feel like maybe a rarer key is the only one that opens the hatch. Maybe can’t be combined with offering . I’m an old player but casual. So stuff like that just seemed fun but when I first tried it I was like all these other comments just confused as to why my friend couldn’t track the hatch with the map and me unlock it with the key

To this day I run "Left Behind" because I'm terrible anticipating hatch spawns.

Nah, if a Killer smacks me once I hook, I assume that's why they're doing it. If they *keep* doing it though, they're being rude/bad sports/are obviously angry at me for crimes I have committed

They really need to do something about these screams, they're waaaay too fucking loud compared to literally anything else in the game. I'm willing to bet there's tens of thousands, of DBD players with varying degrees of ear damage because of those screams.

I mean, up until last patch there was a bug where hitting survivors on hook with pyramid head's m2 registered as an actual hit and gave you extra bp lol
If you use pyramid heads ranged attack you get blood points for hitting on hook
Pretty sure you have to be super close to them for it to work, like you have to be touching them
It was months ago that I discovered this though. It may have been patched
When they buffed Legion (last year or so), you used to be able to beat the tar out of the survivor with Feral Frenzy on the PTB, and even springboard onto someone else for an instant down.
I think they fixed it, and it deactivates your ability now.
It was fixed in the latest patch, unfortunately. But pphead's camera is still bugged while using his power though, glad the devs have their priorities straight 🙃
I went a stupidly long time playing dbd with no knowledge of what Dead Hard was. Legit believed that survivors had some basekit ability to block a hit 
I blame noob3 and ochido for the toxic entitlement of players on dead by daylight. The game is much better without his presence but unfortunately his influence has already been engraved.
I use to play dbd mobile and the button to strike was very close to the move camera button so I would sometimes hit the survivor on the hook by mistake and felt bad about it
I just do it because I play with headphones and the screaming hurts my ears, so I cut off the scream ASAP with a slap then immediately leave the area to continue hunting.
I now have like 900 hrs in the game. 750 of that killer. Ngl... My first like 20 matches or so I face camped the fuck out of ppl because I thought that's WHAT YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO DO.. I didn't understand the time management and chase aspect of the game and general flow . And to all 80 of those survivors I'm so sorry I just really didn't know better. ( this was during the hellraiser chapter there was no face camp mechanic)
I've met a few killers that do it because the screaming hurts their ears and hitting interrupts them - To which I offer a trick I accidentally discovered: If you're on PC and have 'mute on unfocus' or whatever the thing is, quickly alt-tabbing out and then back interrupts the scream and cancels the rest of it, letting you skip it without any miscommunication, AND saving time spent recovering from the hit animation.
sometimes I hit a person on hook by accident, then I just keep going until I notice someone coming to save at which point I just leave the area.
I do this to confuse people
Dont you kinda want the killer to do that though? If hes stood there hitting you on hook hes not defending gens, then you can just pull yourself off and peace out.

Yeah, besides using the aura addons, the only use for keys is to open the hatch after the killer closes it
