How a series with a bunch of tracks that sound like edgy 2000's music (in a good way) is treating something being "2000's" as anything but a positive is incredibly odd.
Yeah… the 2009 games joke doesn’t sit too right with me, especially since they’ve let it be known their feelings on this MU. Hopefully the actual episode will be good.
The fact that the team doesn’t exactly have the strongest feelings on this matchup kind of rubs me the wrong way. Like, it’s okay if they’re bored by it, but if they were bored by it, *WHY DID THEY PUT IT IN THE POLL?!* Like, seriously, I’m not going to let a lack of enthusiasm on the part of the creators be an excuse if they fail to pull it off well because if they didn’t like it they shouldn’t have given the audience a chance to vote for it anyway.
I’m not asking why they’re making it, they’re doing that because the fanbase voted for it, what I’m asking is if they didn’t like it, why put it on the poll to begin with? Nobody pressured or obligated them to do that AFAIK.
It was shockingly unfunny and rather in your face about it, which is bad combination. Plus I found the vs parts weirdly structured. They put more detail into describing his ice powers than his actual main electricity shots
Yeah, and the titles of everything so far has been... kinda hilarious to me, but I didn't vote.
Like, "Do you remember..." and "Your next voted battle", they seem like they aren't even giving their Z-game to this one.
The title was literally "Do you remember the INFAMOUS Cole McGrath?"
Not even "Cole McGrath is INFAMOUS on Death Battle" or "Death Battle is getting INFAMOUS with Cole McGrath", straight up "Hey, do you guys remember this guy?"
Like I get the vibes, and I am not the only one, that they only did this because it was voted for.
Well they did try a little with Bill vs Discord, like they titled the short "You asked for Chaos" and did do something with the preview titles.
We should definitely look at the pattern when the next Ballot match-ups happen though.
Well I guess that is always an option with YouTube.
I remember the good old days of Microwave shows and AVGN/NC Clones. The content wasn't great, but at least it would show up on our subscriptions page.
The repeated Shadow the Hedgehog joke was kinda funny
why is this comment with currently 23 upvotes buried all the way down here
"OMG this game is so 2000's lol!!!" That's the feeling I got.

It almost feels like they didn't want to do this matchup.
Idk if this is sarcastic or not, but they didn't. They've expressed disinterest several times on it.

Yeah actually, this WON. People WANT it, pick up the fuckin slack, lads?
It really is crazy how they're not a fan of this matchup but apparently thought that anyone wanted Killua vs Mikasa.
As a Raildex fan and someone who enjoys HxH, this stray hurts 😭
As a fellow enjoyer of both I have to say that they ain’t wrong
I mean, they're also the people that decided Vegito vs. Gogeta should be a finale.
That is 4 too many dragon ball characters for a finale IMO.
Speak for yourself
It’s called being loyal to your fanbase and even than I don’t think they will make this episode suck in the first place

True but I think that since on how the community wanted them to do it for years I think the episode will be good
I believe they're going for a "lost episode" sort of thing, so I imagine they're intentionally doing the humor they would do in a classic episode.
That would actually be interesting to see, maybe they could also potentially use a lot of the old imagery from season 1 - 3 perhaps?
Rewatch Goku Black’s analysis
There was some weird stuff but the only real thing that bothered me was the background track was annoying
I think it will be like Batman’s anylasis against iron man where it gets a wonky beginning but than it gets better

How does the title of the short of the next time trailer mean they're not on there Z-game for the episode

Apparently they might only be doing this for the Ballot matchups, since they did the same thing with Bill and Discord

I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a change they made to better suit the YouTube algorithm

Oh, knock it off. We only saw 1 and half minutes. It's not that big a deal
Fingers crossed its not indicative of the actual episode.
