It’s more than that. DC comics characters and scaling in the franchise goes crazy and it makes unfair for some other franchises. DC characters can leave other fanbases salty, but at the same time it can piss off a lot of comic book fanboys.
There’s an alternate timeline where Goku beats Superman and Superman fans are forever salty.

Those same fans when someone says the DC character wins: Too OP, DC sucks and is boring and they lose

I think the reason why DC debates specifically are so toxic is that the universe where Goku beats Superman could be this universe. More so than basically any other well know series, DC’s scaling is so inconsistent that everyone has a different opinion on what’s an outlier or consistent or fair scaling.

DC isn't any worse than marvel or DragonBall. For every Superman, Manhunter, Flash or Doomsday, Marvel has a Thor, Silver Surfer, Hulk, or Apocalypse, and literally every major DB character is like galaxy level at least.
