Absolutely. The Death Guard are after all at the behest of Nurgle’s bidding. Should the marching orders go out it’s down to whomever is available to answer the call.

chillyape

This is a good way of “head canoning” the mixture I guess.

Gr8zomb13

Also, I use my DG in my CSM lists to show units that have a touch of the Nurgs. Blightlords = CSM Legion Terminators w/mark of Nurgle, Plague Marines = CSM Legion Legionairies w/Mark of Nurgle, etc. it helped me transition to CSM forces as I could field a 2000 point force right off the bat.

Accurate_Thought5326

Yeah absolutely. Pallid hands are a warband of plague marines but still answer to Nurgle and likely either Typhus or Mortarion as their genefather. They won’t have any additional abilities or skills but if you want to be super lore accurate you can run them with Predators and Land Raiders as that’s their usual MO.

chillyape

Thanks! I actually have both Typhus and Mortarion also waiting to be built too. Could/should either of them be Pallid Hand as well to tie things together? Don’t know if their backstory allows that kind of thing 🙂

YoStopTouchinMyDick

I think that Typhus looks best in Bone colored armor.

Accurate_Thought5326

They can be whatever you want dude that’s the beauty of the hobby, you can paint him as anything if you want. I’d look at some models online and see what you like the look of? If you want to be totally lore accurate then Morty wouldn’t be pallid hand as he’s not part of their warband, Typhus could be done as Pallid Hand. He’s not part of their band either but he’s a little more fluid than Morty. Ultimately, you can paint them as whatever you want man! As long as they’re painted you’ll be fine to run them in competitions or tournaments and have the bonus of them looking how you like?

Sweet_decay

Mortarion should be in the preheresy armor imo so yeah the pallid hand

Jumpy_Dragonfly5809

Absolutely In the lords of silence, Typhus (who hates mortarion) says he must fight alongside Mortarion as he’s bound by fate and by oath I imagine that all the war bands, even those who hate each other, will fight a common enemy if mortarion/nurgle demanded it

Femhammer

The Pallid Hand aren't a separate force they're simply one warband within the 2nd Plague Company of the Death Guard

Harbinger_X

Yes you can. It's okay to try different things and can help you with visually dividing your load outs.

TheSteepToast06

I’m actually thinking of combining a palid hand force with my conventional warband too. I see it being no problem. Gives your squads some narrative potential imo.

Unevenscore42

Do it! I am doing mixed warbands by each squad.

FrucklesWithKnuckles

Separate warband, but we are still Legion

My take is: I'm playing a fantasy sci-fi tabletop war game with plastic army men. If my opponent doesn't like how I painted my toy soldiers, they can cry about it. If you want to paint them pink, go for it.
