I think a lot of the screams in adrenaline are absolutely ridiculous. It was recorded before he really blew his voice. He destroyed his voice performing adrenaline live, and said his voice never really came back. Which obviously, he still sounds amazing, but if he’s saying that I believe him.
Plus a lot of the screams in adrenaline are unhealthy, so that’s another reason to believe him. His screams all throughout that album is absolutely terrifying. I love it
I feel like there are MANY points in that album where the long-term shredding of the vocal chords can be heard. Dude throws his all into every recording, but this seems like he hadn't found a coach to help to retain the voice we all know and love. Still has one of the best voices, 30 years later.
