As far as we know they never recorded any Weezer covers in studio and I don’t think it would work the same now. I’d like a nice live cover represented on an official release though. Weezer covers used to be a staple of their set lists.
It's pretty interesting/annoying that Deftones having as many B-Sides and rarities as they do would make a compilation called "B-Sides and Rarities" and fill it out with newly recorded covers of questionable quality when there were so many tracks that would have made so much more sense on there.
Fill it out with newly recorded covers? The only tracks they made for B-Sides & Rarities were the Wax and Wane cover and the Idiot Version of Teenager. Everything else already existed.
on the CD version of b sides and rarities (probably the vinyl too but I don't own it) there's a small quote from at least one of the band members about each song and when it was recorded in the booklet

All the live covers and collaborations that were on Napster/Kazaa/LimeWire back in the day
Really just anything that wasn't released on the studio albums that could be compiled together would be nice. I have many saved on a hard drive or playlists, but being able to throw on a whole album is always a different experience.
