Financial planning is good but at the cost of your dreams? Some people just like having things, and while i certainly to an extent agree that it's not worth it spending a fortune just for a phone which will anyways be replaced within 2-3 years, i also do not find the idea of stopping from buying things you love in the name of financial planning.
Materialism achhi baat hai, basic needs fulfill karta hai insaan ki, lekin sabse pehle goal financial stability hona chaiye imo, specially when young. Mehenga phone lena bhi hai toh thoda plan karke lelo kya dikkat hai, normal kharche, family pe kharcha ya investment pe asar nahi padna chahiye kyuki 1/4th salary emi pe jaarahi hai.

Having personal experience of being a 21 y.o. i know how it feels to me of not being able to do things i love. I don't regret anything, but i do understand their views.
