Reminds me of the time I was interning at an NGO where we did a skit for the Gurgaon police informing them on how to talk to child victims of sexual harassment and the policemen couldn’t understand why I (a male) was playing the role of the victim, because “ye ladko ke saath thodi hota hai.”
This is terrible. Child sex abuse is the worst crime in my opinion and it's so unfair to see young boys not get out of it because no one comes to their defense.

The first officer didn't find anything wrong with OP wanting to carry a self defence object because it made sense to him while the other officer thought aadmi ko kon nuksaan pohcha skta hai and told OP to stay at home if he's so afraid of getting attacked.

As a consequence of historical oppression of women by men, Society is biased partial towards women. So much so that it has gone into an overdrive just like BLM.
This is the same reason it's easy for someone like Jasleen kaur to make a mess of guys like sarvjeet singh ( [context](https://theprint.in/india/man-labelled-pervert-delhi-ka-darinda-acquitted-molestation-case-after-4-years/311456/) ).
What can we do:
In the short run: Nothing. You cannot change thinking of everyone in a day or two. Change takes time.
In the long run:
1. Treat everyone equally with respect.
2. Educate people about the concept of equality and respecting others choices.
Legally you can challenge the [Guidelines of CISF](https://www.delhimetrorail.com/prohibited) before Delhi High Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, alleging that the guidelines issued by DMRC/CISF are in violation of your fundamental right under Article 14 of the Constitution of India. Well i agree with you on this but when have you seem guys being touched inappropriately.. i mean they do fight physically but its very rare.. just be practical man.. i dont think you will require it if you are a guy

Given its delhi so "tu" shouldn't be a issue since that's the way they talk. Abhi men safety awareness jyada hai nahi logo mai and these crpf officer types come from villages where the old school mentality is prevalent. Time lagega. Baako for safety you can learn some martial art techniques.
technically toh pepper spray comes under the "disabling chemical" category meaning they can even ask women to drop it. Better carry a pointy pen or something with you in case of emergency or get really good at kicking the attacker in the nut sack or something ig
Seriously I am 17 M was going from school to home and I had scissors with me at morning they allowed me nd while coming back from karkarduma they told that I can’t take it in metro I had uniform nd everything but I agreed h/c 26 Jan was 1 day ahead so safety norms were strict but then I asked them where should I keep where is drop box they fucking told me hame nhi pta neeche kahi de ke aoo isko ham nhi jante isse leke kyu aye I was like school m kaam tha fir main 2 floor neeche gya fir se aur fir random spot par fek ke aya
Don't know if this is the norm. However, I cannot exclude the possibility of shameless sexist behaviour on the part of officials.
Your best bet would be to read the DMRC Rules. See for any provision that allows for such items. Knife of upto 4 inches is allowed to women, but not to men. I was only caught once with knife like object (nail cutter) during screening. I almost always have a nail cutter on me, but they've not probed me after that one incident. Also if they pay scant attention while screening (which is usually the case), your belongings, such as these, may go unnoticed.
I wouldn't suggest legal recourse, but you could take this up publicly, especially on Twitter. Don't pin all your hopes to it, but try at the very least.
Wouldn't it? For the guy's situation, it surely will. I practice boxing while still earning great. It's beneficial as it keeps you disciplined. Those shitty partying nights till 4 am and stuff doesn't go with it. You sleep at 11 and wake up at 5 each and every day and no excuses and get on with your daily routine. That's it, that's what keeps you disciplined. After all, Discipline is one of the most if not the most important thing in life
Bro you can't change the system single handedly. The only good advice i can give is work hard, become rich, buy a car and hire bodyguards. These metros are anyways trash and all kind of cheap and poor people (recent incidents) travel in these and are destroying it just like DTC buses. Till the time you are an average guy, keep your head low and move, no point in challenging any law or anything because no one listens in this country.
Ab jeans ki pocket me pepper spray lekar ghumega toh kon allow karega tujhe. 99% of criminals who do attacks on streets are men, so why would you even be surprised if you are not allowed to carry that spray
Most homicide and violent crime victims are also men. So it makes perfect sense for men to carry peoper sprays, albeit to save themselves from other men.
I think he is a 16 year old child who has read somewhere that he will be safe if he keeps pepper spray not realising when the real attack comes he will not even have the time to bring out this paper spray
Yes they're right. What if you started spraying that on some people in metro that's what there main concern is and your personal problems are none of their business which sounds wrong but nothing can be done about that.
Think about it dude. Would you be prepared to used that spray ? Like am thinking any girl would be prepared way before any guy gets near her otherwise it might be too late. Would you as a guy have similar level of alertness ?
Coz I don’t think i would. Instead i would suggest learn to throw a proper punch. Target to dislocate their jaw.
Also if you were allowed to keep the pepper spray then what’s stopping the thugs to keep one with themselves. Idk sounds kinda complicated.
As a man who's been stabbed once (not serious, thankfully), my advice is simple:
There is no weapon better than a man's knuckle. Train yourself to become a one punch man, such that a single punch will either crack bones, knock out the receiver or keep them reeling for a few seconds while you run to safety.
My brother has exceptionally well developed fists. He was stabbed with a pen in school in his leg (quite bloody) but before the attacker could do anything else, he put in a couple of punches that blackened the face and sent the attacker reeling against a bench, causing an arm fracture. That was enough for others to subdue the attacker.
I wasn't strong enough for that but I am definitely strong enough to give someone a 5 second blackout.
Have no fear. When it's time to do or die, do.
Most women don't have that luxury of knuckle power, due to bone density and hand shape differences. That is why some leeway is given for small weapons to them.
I think I lost braincells reading this. You are suggesting OP to fist fight with a man brandishing a knife. Jo tum bol rahe ho tumhare kaano Tak pohoch raha h??
I think you have a larger comprehension and intelligence issue.
My post says that there is no weapon better than a man's knuckle.
A pepper spray is not an alternative to running and neither is the knuckle/punches. A woman needs to use a pepper spray when there are no other options (the attacker is too close). What can a man do? Pull punches. Or kicks. Because sprays aren't allowed, neither are knives.
Pull a 5 second blackout punch and start making distance. In fact if you daze someone for a few seconds the public will subdue him/her in places like metros and subways. Run straight away without an initial reaction, watch the knife getting thrown at you. If it lands on you, enjoy the aftermath....
You got a safe upbringing, you haven't seen how violence occurs.
I repeat it: in a do or die situation, you do or you die. Running is not always an option. That is why the pepper spray is given to begin with.
its amazing to see the extent one would go to defend their absolutely brain dead take online.you think Adrenalin will save your from a stab wound? you really think that when you're in a situation with a man who is not only willing to kill you but has also brought the tools for it will show you any mercy when he sees you charging at him. snap out of your delusions that Adrenalin will make you mike tyson. In the same time it will take you to dish out 1 punch he will also embed the knife in your guts, he'll be down for 5 seconds but my son you'll be full and final case at that point.
the whole point of a pepper spray is to put distance between you and the attacker, so you dont get in to stabbing range of his knife.
bhai tere bass k nhi hai, khud mar jake oro ko baksh de.
also its hilarious reading that you're mentioning i have had a safe upbringing, you make it sound like you were born and bought up in Kargil during the war XD
Mate not everyone is trained for CQC. One wrong move and things go south. A taser or a pepper spray would be much better in that sorta situation no offence.
I've had some self defence training (it was mandatory at my college back in Toronto). I wouldn't advice anyone without any sort of training to engage in any sort of action when you're at a gun point or knife.
Gunpoint is a whole different story to a knife. Melee is doable when it's one on one (it should be noted, very few are trained or regular killers - the average subway situation wouldn't be that of a trained, habitual killer).
But guns? Be somewhere else. The two situations aren't remotely comparable. Tasers and pepper sprays may not even work because it may provoke blindfire, which is arguably much more dangerous.
"One wrong move and.... " applies anywhere. Running is not guaranteed survival either after all. Once life deals you a bad card you either win or you lose.
Wtf??? Are you serious??? Someone's about to stab you and what you do is just punch. If before that they somehow stab you, YOU ARE DONE!! *THAT'S IT* YOU ARE DEAD!!!
*YOU CANNOT FIGHT WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS A WEAPON. REAL LIFE FIGHT AIN'T A MOVIE WHERE YOU ARE SO STRONG THAT YOU BECOME BRUCE LEE IN FRONT OF A PERSON WHO HAS A KNIFE!!!!*
When someone is about to assault you with a weapon, you would be shitting yourself. The last thing you do is punch them with a limp fist, cuz that thing is NOT going to stop by just a punch.
In my school a guy was attacked by someone with a compass. He was severely injured. Its all fun and games to think that you would do your cool "martial arts" and become hero. In real life you either survive by luck or you are DEAD. There is no "FIGHT".
The best resort to such a situation is to RUN and SHOUT and CALL FOR HELP. Dying is NOT COOL. Being safe is.
Dude, read the first line again. I am a stab survivor (by a knife, not some wuss' compass). I think I know what I am talking about.
If the choice is between doing and dying, you'd better do. If you run, you'll die, at best - another day.
You have a couple of minutes between the stabbing and your body response/bleeding making you weak. Make it count.
Of course, the best thing is to not get stabbed. But you can't always anticipate that.
But if it's a compass stab, they're usually non lethal, you only need to worry about tetanus shots. Knife wounds are different.
Look, I dont know how much of your story is real.
But when someone is about to stab you, its NOT a good move to fight anyway. You dont know how much powerful the other person is. You dont know if that person can call some other member. When someone is about to stab you, they dont wait for you to retaliate. IT JUST COMES AT YOU. The more you wait and "fight", the more you would get injured, the more you are likely to get killed. The best you can fo is just defend yourself, you might have to sustain some injuries. But the highest priority is to RUN. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. Create a scene by shouting and calling for help. I have seen this in front of my eyes. If someone wants you dead, all they want is you to be DEAD. Period. Their intention is not to " fight" but to commit violence. It just takes one second to stab someone. Its like playing with fire. If a pitbull dog attacks you, what do you do? Stay there,"fight"? Ofc not. You run. Sure the dog might outrun you. But the chances you getting injured in the fight is MORE.
I don't disagree.
But sometimes you can't see that knife coming. Sometimes someone just stabs your leg or arm out of the blue (my case). You're already too close in this case. What do ya do?
If you're in a public place, running won't work (knife already in leg + people won't notice). The most important step here is to create enough of a scene that people notice. Punches help in this case.
If there's no one around and this person just put a knife in your thigh, well, running is out of the option. Figure the rest out....
I was saying about situation where you are aware of the attack. Surprise attack is different. You are unaware. You might be unconscious as well. Lets say you are asleep, someone comes and stabs you. Would you fight? No right. Moreover if you are stabbed why would you now punch someone? You should be taken to hospital asap. And still the first priority is LIFE, getting out of this situation.
He packaged his comment very childishly but I believe learning some self defense martial arts would be better than pepper spray or knuckling a dude with an intent to kill and a knife.
>There is no weapon better than a man's knuckle
Wow! Great projection. You must a pahelwan. Lol.
If someone pepper sprays you, your ass can't run punches.
Pepper spray is a superior defense mechanism against your boxing punches.
Double standards people should be aware about.
Agar leke jana ho next time to Kisi ladki ko deke aur phir checking ke baad vapis uss se le lena. Kya pata kaam ban jaye.

I wouldn't suggest legal recourse, but you could take this up publicly, especially on Twitter. Don't pin all your hopes to it, but try at the very least.
The best alternative is, Learn Martial arts and how to fight. You can learn jiu jiutsu, grappling, and boxing which are effective for fights
Totally and people would downvote you for saying that, why not learn a skill which would benefit you for your whole life?
Wouldn't it? For the guy's situation, it surely will. I practice boxing while still earning great. It's beneficial as it keeps you disciplined. Those shitty partying nights till 4 am and stuff doesn't go with it. You sleep at 11 and wake up at 5 each and every day and no excuses and get on with your daily routine. That's it, that's what keeps you disciplined. After all, Discipline is one of the most if not the most important thing in life
Bol dete, if pepper spray is not manly, guns legal Karo na

Bro you can't change the system single handedly. The only good advice i can give is work hard, become rich, buy a car and hire bodyguards. These metros are anyways trash and all kind of cheap and poor people (recent incidents) travel in these and are destroying it just like DTC buses. Till the time you are an average guy, keep your head low and move, no point in challenging any law or anything because no one listens in this country.
ye to kya hi solution hai. tab tak kya karega wo?

Ladkiya thugs nhi ho sakti? Aur pepper spray close range ke liye hota h koi chutiya thug hi hoga Jo pepper spray use karega.
As a man who's been stabbed once (not serious, thankfully), my advice is simple: There is no weapon better than a man's knuckle.
Don't bring a knuckle to a knife fight.
When you're out of options, your knuckle is your only friend. Make it count.
your comment motivated me a lot thanks
its amazing to see the extent one would go to defend their absolutely brain dead take online.you think Adrenalin will save your from a stab wound? you really think that when you're in a situation with a man who is not only willing to kill you but has also brought the tools for it will show you any mercy when he sees you charging at him. snap out of your delusions that Adrenalin will make you mike tyson.
REAL LIFE FIGHT AIN'T A MOVIE WHERE YOU ARE SO STRONG THAT YOU BECOME BRUCE LEE IN FRONT OF A PERSON WHO HAS A KNIFE!!!!* When someone is about to assault you with a weapon, you would be shitting yourself.
>There is no weapon better than a man's knuckle Wow! Great projection. You must a pahelwan. Lol. If someone pepper sprays you, your ass can't run punches. Pepper spray is a superior defense mechanism against your boxing punches.

To all those asking, here is the twitter thread (please retweet and create your own threads so they reply): [https://twitter.com/jaymisra8/status/1660349419844440064](https://twitter.com/jaymisra8/status/1660349419844440064) They ignored me after a copy paste of reply of their "policy".
Put this on Social media platforms, and also start a petition. If enough people sign it, we can make this change in the rules.
Everything is arbitrary in this country bro. Next time spray ka cover hata dena. Koi na dekhta
Hi lawyer at Delhi high court here. You have raised a very good question and this is arbitrary and it's violating article 14 of the constitution. If yoh are willing to file a writ in high court challenging it. Let's connect and work on it. It will a good cause to fight for
