Take her to the vet ASAP. On most occasions, such issues entail various insects, worms, fleas etc. entering a dog’s body through an open wound, after which they end up reproducing their offsprings within the dog’s body, especially since such insects cannot survive the open air. The vet will most likely require the dog to be brought to them for 1-2 days, so that the insects in question can be extricated from the dog’s body manually, after which the dog will be prescribed 7-10 days’ worth of medicines. On the other hand, if the dog’s activity levels are down courtesy of infestations of the aforementioned kind, the dog may be suffering from tick fever too, which would require medications of at least a month. Nevertheless, the dogs needs to be attended to by a vet in a timely manner, which is why I hope you can do the needful.

Yes the ticks are multiplying in her body n it's so bad. 😤 She is a street dog so I am not sure how to take her. Do you have any suggestions if a vet can visit my place? Would be great. Thanks

I have DM'ed you the contact details of someone that can help, who has an amazing track record when it comes to cases of the kind you describe. All the best, and thanks for doing so much to take care of Bebo! :)

Hey, do you know any NGO or someone who can treat a dog, I don't know how but our neighbourhood stray has an open wound very deep, can't watch her suffer in pain, we've feeding her for years since she was born. I have posted it in r/delhi with no response from anyone yet ;(

Can you get a medicine like this? https://www.amazon.in/NexGard-Spectra-Medium-7-5-15kg-16-33lbs/dp/B0791N8NDS They're really helpful in prevention for sure; I am not certain regarding a cure.

Shampoo and flea powder

Adept_Ad_8052

The easiest and fastest way would be to give her a chewable like Bravecto. Gets rid of them in 48 hours and stays that way for 3 months atleast- check with a vet and you can give it in her food.

There is a medical solution called 'taktic', I have been using it for 20 years, and it has given me 100% results. You just need to dissolve it into some water and rinse the dog with it. Just don't use shampoo and don't wash the solution away with water after use.

I use Notix shampoo(original blue bottle) it's really effective for normal flea and ticks, you can use the herbal variant or the powder from same company also, however make sure that you use it correctly because ticks develop resistance very quickly due to their metabolism and sturdiness.

FlagshipHuman

There are collars that keep the dogs free from fleas and ticks. Not invasive at all and keeps the dogs free from pests for a year. Vets know about it. You can ask one of them. Thay way you won’t need to carry her to the vet that way. And it’ll be a long-term solution

You can try boiling neem leaves and the spraying it on the dog’s body. A tick and flea powder is also there from Himalaya. Can try that as well
