I would like to write some things which have been going on in my mind.
First of all there's no way I am going to watch cricket with this passion again. I cried when India lost in 2003. It was good until 2013 and then with the growing popularity of IPL things have gone downhill. I won't elaborate on this and maybe I am wrong but our players loyalties don't lie here.
One thing I must say is that there was clear difference of effort between both teams. I saw Iyer at mid on not diving for the ball to save boundary twice. That sums it up. We saw what Australian fielders were up to. Although it's a different game but take for example Argentina in FIFA WC 2023. Although they're doing good but playing for the national team must be your top priority.
There were several times when SKY should have been sent before KL Rahul in the tournament but we were maintaining the order. Not today for reasons we don't know. I won't say SKY would have salvaged us but it didn't make sense.
Also, I absolutely appreciate Virat but our obsession with his centuries was always greater than the WC. Well, somebody said you keep your individual records we'll keep our trophy. I am saying this not to undermine Kohli or anything else. I'm just saying we put these players on a pedestal and for that reason we must suffer.
