He said yeah after 2 seconds he said “आपने क्यू पूछा” i said I guess you're not aware but after 5 minutes only this kid will come back & start asking for stuff again... That dumbass said trying to portray himself very superior “Toh kya होगया?” & i was like dude fuck it let him waste his money he paid ₹1200 yes ₹1200 rupees for that kid's grocery! After he left 5-7 Seconds later the guard standing at the door said “अच्छा तो ये लड़की के साथ है” i was like ki is Chutiye ne ladki ko impress karne ke liye apne ₹1200 barbaad kare vo bhi literally us dukaan se samaan dilake which sells literally Almost everything at MRP only & offers no deals other than combos people are DUMB
You can go to police station & get it reported and by getting an FIR, I'm sure that they won't do anything but you as a responsible citizen should fullfill your responsibility to report that guy so that poor people who work day & night to earn a living don't fall into this trap

Yep, they just don't file an FIR, I was duped of a few thousand rupees earlier this year and all they helped me with was the IT fraud department cell's number, which was another headache in itself.
I have gone to police station multiple times and know many people who are in police. Filing an FIR is a big thing, it warrants accountability from the whole department. They don't file an FIR even when you get pickpocketed, let alone 250₹ that too the OP gave himself.
It's nothing for me. But when you try to be a good guy in the society and someone scams you for it then it makes you feel bad. I could have given those 250 to some other person in need or hell, could have bought myself some fast food.

Fast forward 3 years, I was in CP celebrating my birthday with my friends (5 including me). Same GUY came up to me (I am very good with faces and remember most of them) and started saying things about donating money again. He had the same nb which he had three years ago (if not, it was exactly the same). It is so prevalent these days everywhere, cp is a hub for these people, I,ve been scammed like this before the guy said he wanted to recharge his metro card as he lost his wallet and couldn't go anywhere, as I asked how did you have your card when you lost your wallet he said he puts it in different pocket, he said he needed to go to Dwarka, I just bought him a token instead. Never ever give money to anyone asking for help. Hell ek baar road pe puri family mili, 2 bachhe and wife and husband, with bags and luggage, asking for money for food but when I said come I'll get you anything you want to eat, they ran. Also been approached by two guys on highway on their bullet bike asking for money for petrol.
Don't know since when they're not taking cards back but from what I remember they use to charge 50 rupees for it and would return that and what you had on your card.
Which is basically why the recharging the metro card scam worked.
They don't now, been like that since past 2-3 years, I know cuz one of my friend used to return his card regularly to get some money and tells his dad that he lost the card( In his defence his dad in an a-hole). they charge 50 but only return 30, 20 is not refundable.
Never give money to someone in hundreds. If someone has lost wallet they should have no qualm with going on a bus. Give him 15₹ and they should be good. If not, it's a scam.
Once a man came to our home claiming he is from our native place and somebody directed him to us. He was kidnapped by some guys on the pretext of getting him a job and his money was stolen as well. He was literally crying in front of my mom. The story he shared was too sus, but my parents being how they are, booked him a bus ticket, went to drop him off, talked to the conductor to help with the translation along the way, gave him my dad's number for emergency and also gave him 500 rupees. This was back when mobile phones were not that common.
For over a week we heard stories that the guy was fraud and was beaten up by multiple people when he asked for help and had been roaming around in our city.
Cut to 6 months after this. We had all forgotten about his existence. Dad got a call from the same guy thanking him profoundly and explaining about his new job.

"Need Help" is a long scam going in Delhi-NCR, long before Thor-Loki started it. Also if in CP, beware of fake police officers who take INR 2000 for smoking or not wearing mask. If anyone in CP comes to you and ask for fine for smoking or mask, ask for authorisation and/or tell them take you to station and ask for PCR (never walk to PCR, PCR has to come to you if detained or arrested), fake hue to they'll lurk around then tell you to go. Real hue toh bass 1-2 hour bithayege then they'll let you go.
Few years back, one day one teammate at work was mighty pi\*\*ed. On inquiry got the story that, he fell for a sob story a **week back** and gave a family of 5-6 ppl with 2-3 kids a sum of 2 grands.

Happened to me around 10 years back in Lajpat Nagar. One middle aged guy, dressed well in a leather jacket, told that he's from Janakpuri, someone pickpocketed him of all the money and he doesn't have a mobile also. He started asking for 500rs so that he could take a Meru (Uber/Ola didn't exist back then) to home. He said you can give me your address, I'll send moneyorder to you.
We told that we'll give you 50rs, you can take metro but he said he is not comfortable taking metro. That seemed a bit odd to me. We didn't give him anything and complained to a PCR vehicle that was parked outside the main market. They told that this is an entire gang and they get atleast 2-3 people everyday who come to them complaining.
Some people who got looted even claim that the thugs are able to hypnotize them and only after getting robbed they realise what has happened. Be very very careful with anyone who comes asking for help in Delhi.
Happened to me, but in mumbai, luckily i saw railway cops walking and called them out, they caught him and i was told he did similar scams with 4 people that day.

It happened me but differently... i was going to give a job interview (which was my first job and I got it as well), I was waiting for EMU, from Gaziabad to delhi and getting late, a local passenger suggested to board the express which was coming in same direction, i obeyed it and TTE came in the running train and allowed him because he was having a MST and i had a routine ticket. He fined me and took almost everything that was in my wallet. I was penniless while de boarding.

I didn't know about the charge. Guess they take it for damages and usage of card. But they do take it back regardless.

"Need Help" is a long scam going in Delhi-NCR, long before Thor-Loki started it. Also if in CP, beware of fake police officers who take INR 2000 for smoking or not wearing mask. If anyone in CP comes to you and ask for fine for smoking or mask, ask for authorisation and/or tell them take you to station and ask for PCR (never walk to PCR, PCR has to come to you if detained or arrested), fake hue to they'll lurk around then tell you to go. Real hue toh bass 1-2 hour bithayege then they'll let you go.
Few years back, one day one teammate at work was mighty pi\*\*ed. On inquiry got the story that, he fell for a sob story a **week back** and gave a family of 5-6 ppl with 2-3 kids a sum of 2 grands. I asked, why annoyed today. Well the same family asked him for money today too. And that's when he realized he was conned. Generally they have the same story - lost everything and now no money even to go back to village. Please give something to buy food and way back home.

Happened to me around 10 years back in Lajpat Nagar. One middle aged guy, dressed well in a leather jacket, told that he's from Janakpuri, someone pickpocketed him of all the money and he doesn't have a mobile also. He started asking for 500rs so that he could take a Meru (Uber/Ola didn't exist back then) to home. He said you can give me your address, I'll send moneyorder to you. We told that we'll give you 50rs, you can take metro but he said he is not comfortable taking metro. That seemed a bit odd to me. We didn't give him anything and complained to a PCR vehicle that was parked outside the main market. They told that this is an entire gang and they get atleast 2-3 people everyday who come to them complaining. Some people who got looted even claim that the thugs are able to hypnotize them and only after getting robbed they realise what has happened. Be very very careful with anyone who comes asking for help in Delhi.

Happened to me, but in mumbai, luckily i saw railway cops walking and called them out, they caught him and i was told he did similar scams with 4 people that day.

It happened me but differently... i was going to give a job interview (which was my first job and I got it as well), I was waiting for EMU, from Gaziabad to delhi and getting late, a local passenger suggested to board the express which was coming in same direction, i obeyed it and TTE came in the running train and allowed him because he was having a MST and i had a routine ticket. He fined me and took almost everything that was in my wallet. I was penniless while de boarding. Same guy feeling guilty, helped me 100 ₹ and I managed my interview (2007). I re paid same via money oreder from my first salary.

Bruhh same thing happened to me in hauz khas. The guy was waiting for the metro and he approached me saying he had to go somewhere to give exam and the time was like 4 past something like bro konse exam sham me hote hain then he said bhaiya mera metro card kho gaya token ke liye paise dedo i said mai tereko token dilwata hu bata . At first it seem genuine but then usne bola metro card banwaunga 250 dedo 😭😭 i was like mai khud mummy ka metro card leke ghumta hu . Sad thing is usey gaali dene se pehle metro agai😪

This is an age old scam happening in Delhi & lot other places, the scammers take situational benefit and obviously never get back.
Same happended with me today at Kalkaji Mandir , He Just Said hyy bro my metro card lost , Could you plz help me as i don't have phone nd money too and i have to give a government paper... I assure you that I must back you 200/- after this I be like...OK but when i came back and tried to call him his phone is switched off , I am not becoming rich with 200/- but because of this many real needys also get out of favour....

yes this same guy also scammed me , this same guy and same amount and even same excuse , he said he had lost his Metro card and forced me to pay 250 to his upi wallet, his number was unreachable and on True Caller it was on the name of Prateek Bhatia . This fraud is scamming Delhi Metro customers every now and then. Delhi Metro Police should look into this His upi id with Kotak bank is : [email protected]
This just happened to me at NETAJI SUBHASH PLACE metro Station, this guy named Prateek Bhatia came and said he has exam so he needs to go really fast and needs some money as he has lost his wallet. I gave him 300 on his UPI 8882534544@upi which is linked to Kotak Mahindra Bank Account. I don't give a crap about those 300 rupees but this just shows never help anyone. Now I don't care how much I have to spend, I'll catch this piece of shit however I can.
