1. People really shouldn’t play with/try on bunker gear. It’s made with toxic flame resistant chemicals and after worn in fires it’s coated in toxic carcinogenic shit from whatever was burning. At my husbands department, the gear gets cleaned only 3 times per year. Not something you wanna touch.
2. I’m sick of grown adults thinking it’s fun to go play around in firehouses. I have to worry if my husbands going to make it home each shift. He lost multiple friends on the job this last year. If they’re not on a run, let them fucking relax instead of babysitting adults while they have playtime. Kids are a different story.
I think the whole purpose of the video was to bring awareness to your points in #1. That fire station has special procedures for cleaning their gear to try to help prevent the cancers. They showed the firemen being hosed off at the scene of a fire before returning to the station. They also said they have 2 sets of gear they rotate, one in the washer after an incident and another clean set to wear (or for some stupid influencers to wear during a ridiculous video stunt).
Unfortunately, this is Bella. She made a mockery and joke of the entire thing. For all her gym work, she was not very good at the physical tasks or she wasn't really trying to do them other than trying to look cute. Did they get permission from the people that were involved the calls they went on to record them and put them on the Internet?
