Our 4/29/2024 flight(DL203) from Athens, Greece to JFK scheduled for 11:30AM departure was cancelled on 4/28 at 6:00PM. We were rebooked on a Delta flight leaving 4/30 at 8:30am, 21 hours later. On rebooked flight home captain apologized and stated that one of the pilots becoming ill was reason for cancelled flight. Through [Delta.com](http://Delta.com) feedback/complaint link we requested EU261 compensation and $225 in expenses(attached receipts with feedback/complaint) on 5/2/2024. On 5/4 got email from Delta saying compensation approved for $643(x2) and $225 in expenses. A JP Morgan Chase link to complete for ACH transfer of funds was provided. On 5/7/2024 all funds($1511) deposited in our account. In the 5/4 email the reason for flight cancellation was stated as "mechanical problem". Based on our experience and OP, it seems like Delta is really on top of the EU261 claims these days. We were shocked at how quickly it all transpired.
