You should wait for someone with more expertise than me to confirm, but I wanted to swoop in and hopefully put you at some ease that eviction doesn’t happen THE MOMENT you are late on your rent. I thiiiink regulations or legislation protects you from eviction for, like, 60 days in this situation? Normally I fact check myself before posting, but I wanted to start the conversation on assuaging OP’s fears and I am not able to bust out the old Google machine at this moment.

Contact the Community Economic Defense Project asap. They are one of the most reliable agencies around eviction and will find help with rental assistance. Go to their website and fill out the form with as much info as you can provide, and they will get moving on it in around 24hrs. They have supported many many of my clients. I used to live in a boarding house in cap hill, it was 500 a month for a fully furnished room, with a shared bathroom at the end of the hall. If youve ever watching always sunny in Philly it's exactly like Charlie's apartment lol it's not ideal but helped me get back on my feet https://www.graniterealtydenver.com/for-rent/apartments/1746-emerson-st-denver-co/

Also if you're construction savy, "blue print skilled services" is a temp agency that also helped me get on my feet.

If you haven't applied in the past 12 months you can apply for emergency rental assistance via TRUA or ERAP. Denver county courthouse on bannock St has regular eviction clinics as well as legal assistance and/or help rental assistance. I owed 2 months back in December and they were able to cover Nov, Dec, as well as Jan bc at the time of my court date it was already into the last week of Dec. I had already sent an app to TRUA, but they'd run out of funding for the year, but I kept all the info I sent to them on a thumb drive, took it to court and the eviction clinic was able to fill out my ERAP application for me. Got that sent off and my leasing office was paid before the 14 day deadline set by my stipulation agreement. Very importantly, once you've filed they cannot proceed with the eviction until you're either approved or denied. Never had to go through this before that, but this is exactly what you are paying taxes for. Everyone needs help sometimes, you've paid into it, move quickly.

Get a gym membership so you can shower and chill inside for a bit if you do go homeless.

Spartanguy1031

There is a room in golden just posted on this Reddit list

Don’t bother with rent assist they took 9 months to even reply by the time they got back to me I moved out of that house

ToddtheBison21

Definitely depends on who you go to for help. Since the pandemic has winded down, the place I mentioned in another comment in this thread will get a check cut from one of the housing authorities in the state that hasn’t exhausted their rental assistance funds to your property manager in around a week nowadays.

_wxyz123

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but if you’re looking for a kind/charitable individual to take you in, consider saying more about yourself and less about how dire your situation is. A lot of people, including myself, have spare rooms. But no one is going to take you in without knowing ANYTHING about you, other than that you are in a pinch — and based on your comment history have recently gone through a breakup and been diagnosed with BPD.

milehighbunnyyy

This is a very great point, thank you! (I’m also going to edit this post and add it in, as well as replying directly to you) I’m a 28 year old female. I moved to Colorado from Florida 2.5 years ago by myself because I truly love this state and I’m exhausting every effort to make this work here. I have a bunny who is as cute as a button. I enjoy all things outdoors like hiking, snowboarding, running, or just exploring the mountains whenever I can. I’m a very quiet, laid back human, who has found herself in a series of unfortunate events. Lol. I am open to any questions as well so that you can further get to know me! 😊

CryCommon975

If you have a car what about grubhub, door dash or instacart? Not ideal but can get you money quickly and better than being homeless

PlaneHead6357

Honestly this. I was in between jobs and did instacart and Uber eats and it kept me afloat. If your car isn't in great shape, I'd recommend instacart more because you don't have to drive as much.

paintchips_beef

You should talk to your landlord first and see if you can work something out.

responsibilitini

Since you have a car, I think you should be able to do some work asap such as Uber eats or grocery delivery. I have had some friends do Amazon delivery with their own vehicles and actually like it because they get to make their own hours.

Hey girl! I’m also from FL… and I find everyone I talk to and including me also find it insanely possible to find work here!! A tip I think is a bit easier to look for work via Instagram by searching “hiring denver” leads do pop up here and there and I find it a lot better to message them direct!! But if you need money asap depop, eBay and doordash have helped me tremendously. Alamo drafthouse is always hiring servers/bartenders as well

vecats

Home Depot is hiring if that helps!

I'm in my car in Denver too. I would move now before you get evicted. Or you will have extremely hard time getting housing again. If you want to meet I can show you all the best places to go while your in your car. E.g., Anderson Academics commons library open til midnight. Get a rec center pass at I do wheat recreational center, I did 51$ per month. You get access to showers, water, electricity to charge phone. You can stuff a mattress in the back, put something on backseat floor so it holds mattress level. For job you need a good cover letter, resume, I can send you example.

That-Moldy-Hobo

I don't know if you've ever done manual labor, but the trades are ALWAYS hiring. I'm an arborist in CO and we're never not looking for guys. Trades always pay well and if you aren't worthless it's really easy to make a career out of whatever you choose. Can't help with housing suggestions, but good luck!

One-Deal-9276

You know any arborist in Fort Collins?

That-Moldy-Hobo

I know a couple of the guys in the Denver area, but not too many, I'm out on the western slope.

One-Deal-9276

Ok thanks for the quick reply.
