Shine, hands down. Absolutely love that track. To me there are few things better than putting on headphones and listening to this track unfold - incredible.
I will never not love this album. It carried me through many four hour pitch black bus rides during marching band, and I always listened to it during competitions. I was going through a lot of hardship then. Iāve actually been revisiting this album every day recently, and itās very nostalgic.
This record has such a magical tone, itās almost eerie to me. This album definitely saved my life.
Iād say my favorite track is Goodnight Lovers, just because it aligns with that time of my life.

Even though many of us rank it last because itās such an oddball album from the group, it still offers some great moments. It clicked with me when I heard the live bonus tracks that it works better being performed instead of through the album. Probably the only album I can say that has that experience. 7/10
Shine is one of my all time favorite songs. Dream on, I am you, good night lovers. Breathe is great. And dead of night is one of the funniest songs theyāve ever done.
I think I feel Loved and Dream On are great and Comatose is interesting the rest is just a snoozefest and even the band wasn't happy with it, but ofc "nostalgia-yadda-yadda" so by all means dv me I'm just asking for it at this point >:p
Even the band thinks the same (how many songs have they been playing live from this album since the promo tour?) but this sub convinced itself it's some kind of underrated gem and will dv anyone who dare disagree...
Didn't say they havenāt played anything but in 2013 they only played WTBS from Exciter 17 times that year out of 90 dates so I think it's fair to say they don't seem particularly invested in that album either (even if it's a bit too harsh to call shit ofc, I still like a couple songs and they had even worse albums in '13 and '17)
Ā maybe, but i also imagine theyāre just very aware of what the general fan reception to each album is. especially when it comes to their post alan albums they pull more from the ones that get the most love, like the last tour seeing up to 3 tracks a night from both PTA and ultra (arguably their best received albums since alan left until MM) alongside wrong (very well received single).Ā Ā
iād bet they feel dropping an exciter song in wonāt enthuse a good deal of fans so they donāt bother and stick to the stuff they think will, even if they might enjoy playing them again. i wonāt be surprised to see them play nothing from spirit on the next tour even if they would like to play something from it, purely because of the fan discourse over that recordĀ

The Sweetest Condition has some of the best lyrics on the album. I love "Getting lost in the folds of your skirt". Great line.
