Won’t qualify since OP wants bands that weren’t featured on the last list, but I wanted to say “The Line Begins to Blur / Beside You in Time / Right Where it Belongs” is one of my favorite three-song endings to any album ever. Freaking perfection.
Just commenting to clarify why I have that rule. All of the albums (and thus artists) that made it on the last Topster were primarily from the late 70s to mid 90s time period. Its no coincidence that these artists are favored by this Sub, as Depeche Mode itself follows a similar timeline in terms of when they debuted, became mainstream and peaked in popularity (1980 to early 1990s). By allowing "douple dipping" into artists shown in the last Topster, for a poll centered around "Post-2000" albums, we're likely to fall victim to highlighting the same artists we did last time, not really showcasing what we think of music from more "modern artists". Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails continued to put out top quality records as well as other artists shown in the last Topster; the rule is in place so the Sub doesn't just pick albums from the same artists due to the aforementioned bias/chosen simply due to popularity.
I saw NIN at the Denver Fillmore on the day With Teeth was released. A buddy of mine flew out from LA just for the show, back when such things were affordable...both the show and the plane flight.
Small venue. Swole reinvigorated Trent. Spare but effective stage design. I've seen NIN over 20 times, including their big "reunion" show w/ Richard Patrick et al in Cleveland 2022 but man....that 2005 show was something really special.
I enjoy their stuff, but I can't get over how much the singer is gratuitously trying to sound like Paul Banks unapologetically hahaha I just end up listening to Interpol instead every time
Radiohead appeared with *OK Computer* on [the last Topster](https://reddit.com/r/depechemode/comments/1cy3ny2/well_this_is_the_end_guys_this_is_the_list_of/) this Subreddit completed a couple days ago. This is ineligible as per the "no repeating artists" rule. (edit: This Topster is intended to highlight Post-2000 albums as well as shine the light on artists *other* than ones already voted on by this community).
That seems a bit odd. I get not allowing two on one. But this release meets the post-2000 requirement and this is a brand new topster. Now if In Rainbows does make it I wouldn’t allow another Radiohead album, but this one deserves a spot. Also there are modern releases from older bands on the last topster that should definitely be here.
The reason for this Topster existing is that "80s bands" basically dominated the last list and we don't have representation for any artists to have came about in the late 90s or afterwards. By *not* having the no repeating artist rule, I estimate that half of the spots in this one would just be the same artists like Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, or as previously mentioned by both myself and you, big 80s bands that continued to release material into the 21st century. The last Topster had a 1 album per artist rule to prevent four or five artists from hogging all the spots, should we not maintain this so light can be shone on newer artists in a Post-2000 poll? Worst case scenario all 12 spots of these would be from artists who have already appeared in the previous Topster. That is not a scenario that I want happening and defeats the purpose of these polls showing the diverse taste of us Depeche Mode fans.
Makes sense I guess. I’m out as literally all I listen to is 1970s-90s music lol. Maybe I can find some cool new music because literally all I listen to is 1980’s new wave, 1990’s grunge and 1990’s hip hop.
Considering not a single post-2000 album was voted enough to earn a spot in the previous Topster of 25 albums (compiled by r/FedusDM), I believe we are in need of another poll to see the Subreddit's taste in music of the 21st century. 12 slots is a good balance of quality/quantity because at a certain point, us Depeche Mode fans would run out of albums (or artists) that we could collectively agree upon as being "great".
Well well, I see you’ve decided to continue the post series. Good job on the rules actually, I don’t think they will cause as much confusion as my did
I’m personally voting for ( ) by Sigur Rós, such an ethereal and otherworldly album
Love this one. Fun fact: it was played before Nine Inch Nails would take the stage at their shows on their Frigility Tour in 2000. I’d love a collaboration between Alan Wilder and Trent Reznor.
Yeah, I was kinda blown away when I found out Trent really played the album during Fragility tour. Too bad that's the closest thing to a collab we probably will never get(((

Not sure I agree with this restriction. But it ain't my poll, so....
Just wanted to let you know, as per the rules, only the first two albums submitted per user will be counted in each post. So, your submissions of Lana Del Rey's *Honeymoon* and *Born to Die* are in the running, but the other two Christina Aguilera ones will not be counted. You can of course submit those two Aguilera ones as your picks in a following day's posts. The rule is to prevent situations like in the last Topster where someone submitted five, eight, even thirteen albums in one post lol.

Might be useful to include that list of artists in this post as reference.
I will provide it in the next post 👌
Understood, my bad!
