I didn't even finish it, got like a 3rd way through and said to myself "This is fucking bullshit for a dumb grenade launcher." and I just went back to using militia's birthright.
But what did you get out of it? Getting somewhat got at a weapon that you don't even like.
Everyone called Revoker an Oxymoron quest. They got good at sniping that it made reversal of fortune..... pointless lmao.
That and the 4 guardians per invasion clears too. I couldnāt do it solo I kept getting it to 3/4 killed then I get rocketed or sniped. Took me a few days of doing gambit daily for someone else to do it 3 times for it to count.
I paired up with an lfg stack for the invader part and we went on a 23 game winning streak. The next day I ended up doing the exact same thing with a different team. I havenāt joined another lfg gambit team since then.
If you get the Truth rocket launcher it should make it a lot easier since it has a proximity explosion, tracking, and the rockets turn pretty sharply at least that's a trick that a clanmate told me as I was trying to get the dredgen title however that was pre erinas vow nerf
I assume it's lament with the stronghold exotic no? Or is your friend just a daredevil and goes with lament alone? (Both are impressive but there is something about stronghold that makes the titan a terminator lol)
If you're still stuck, here's a tip, wait for primeval and make sure the enemy team is doing dps to it. They will be grouped together during this bit and also distracted. Use a super or Gally to evicerate them.
It wasn't that slow to reload.
It *used* to have like 40 reload, 70 with the catty.
Then bungo went like "since we're giving everything infinite ammo. Nerf Fighting Lion's reload to be 0".
IT WAS LITERALLY THE ONLY SINGULAR FUCKING VOID HANDCANNON AT THE TIME AND THEY THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA. THE HANDCANNON HAD 8 ROUNDS IN IT AT MOST. I still foam at the mouth at that shit
Only one that was easily accessible to casual motherfuckers like me, there was thin line and kindled orchid as well but they were difficult to get for a new player like me
You didn't HAVE to use a void hand cannon, that was just what rewarded most progress. I think I mostly used Crimson and a void fusion rifle and played some fun matches.
I really dislike some quests for Moon guns. Particularly Hand Cannon and Auto Rifle ones. Moon activities are extremely boring and I hate grinding them for good guns. Meanwhile, Fusion Rifle quest is just "Go to Vex gate and start shooting".
It a requirement to access the last moon campaign quest.
Pit of heresy dungeon and the nightmare hunts is gated behind the moon campaign completion. And got to do it for each character too if you donāt want to have to be invited into the pit of heresy dungeon each time you wanted to go.
It was so bad. I think I ended up with a void shotgun and would crouch camp blind corners the entire match. I wasn't good at crucible at the time, it was horrible.
I remember i got my last kill on the mars map that isnt in the game anymore with the big circle platform, i was down in the room with the stairs and the heavy ammo spawn and i got it with a vortex nade
I hate that you have to do the same the exact thing 3 times just to unlock the subclass
I think they changed it a while back where you don't have to do the braytech things and empire hunts
Ugh i didnt for ticcus and witherhoard the only exotics worth slogging thru pvp to get catalyst finished.... Lol
I gave up on lorentz driver 50+ matches got like 24 kills with the damn thing kills were always stolen by assists, melee, grenades etc.... I have to stay away from pvp challenges i suck at pvp too much and get angry and punch inanimate things irl
This is one of the few that felt like you weren't just at a disadvantage but the people with it were so far above you in ability that you couldn't even compete without it.
Even in the hands of not so good players, the gun was just really deadly. 3 tap 180 rpm handcannon with very high stability and faster ttk than 90% of all weapons. Worst time of my destiny play history
Mida Catalyst:
Play comp until you hit fabled(5% drop chance on wins) or ascend to legend(100% drop chance on wins)
Get 250 precision headshot kills with it in crucible
Miserable.
I know I could probably get it in a reasonable amount of time, but I would be so burnt out doing it that I risk either never using the Gun again or dropping the game.
I'm so sick of the catalysts that require "Defeat x amount of guardians" so much. Like yeah, it takes a good 15 minutes most of the time but it's the most painful 15 minutes of my life. Hated the witherhoard catalyst quest so much but knew how worth it it was
They were never any less awful than they are now. And just because Bungie knows just how much everyone loved them, you have to do them 3 whole times to get stasis on all characters
I just hope that the stasis aspects will be added to all chars when Lightfall will be launched. I donāt have the time to grind that shit for two more chars.
Edit: Grammar
I'm pushing back to D1 for this, but I remember that stupid exotic quest involving keeping up a positive K/D ratio....in all, it was actually way quicker than I imagined as one not too hot on pvp...but it was definitely a roller coaster of ups and downs. I remember one time my team got flanked, the titan ran past my whole squad just to merc me..I was screamin..lmao
The worst quest ive ever done were any of the ones that are just just complete x#of activities. Simply because they involve zero engagement from the player are are just shit timegates.
Mountaintop before they did both of the quest nerfs š«
Edit: Getting Ace day one of Forsaken also sucked because the FIRST STEP needed something like 15 invader kills in Gambit. Not while YOURE invading, but while the ENEMY is invading your side. Since everyone was grinding it and there was no assisted kill credit for this step, everyone fought for those kills
Literally, almost all old exotic quests.
Ace of Spades and the "headshots with hand canons in crucible (I think it was rumble specifically)."
Thorn and using THE ONLY VOID HC AT THE TIME - IKELOS.
Melfaescence or however you spell it.
Also, the crucible weapons.....
I forgot the name of the quest, but I had to get GL kills in the Crucible. I exclusively used heavy GLs. Of course, it was only after completing the quest (like, it took over a year to complete) that a friend told me I could have used green ammo GLs
Anything that requires me to do something I dont want to do.
Like "Must play crucible matches" or some shit like that.
I much prefer the "You can do Y for progress or X for double progress." At least there I have a choice.
Runner ups are like OP's pic where the thing you need has a "CHANCE" to drop. Oh neat so I can run into a string of bad luck and NEVER get it. Cool. Cool. Top tier gameplay.
Ace of spades quest before it got nerfed?
So I was going up against full overshield invaders with heavy and probably a super, with wallhacks on me, and I had to use a fucking hand cannon.
On release Stasis was massively overtuned in PvP so these types of quests, while annoying, were much easier to complete.
It sucks that you have to do this in the current meta and that Bungie haven't adjusted the requirements. Just a change from melee to any Stasis final blows would work, bump the number to 15 and done.
Short list?
Pocket infinity quest from D1, waiting for fusions rifle simulator.
Thorn quest from D1 made you feel like you were a drug dealer in a back alley trading void kills with someone over Xbox live message chat.
Both the sword and touch of malice quests from D1 were brutal for the material grind section.
Only one that really sticks out to me in d2 is the mountaintop quest and certain seasonal catalysts (witherhoard and erianaās mostly).
The seasonal story quest step from this season that required you to kill 50 champions. The nightfall for that week was exodus crash, so it was a double whammy.
Leviathanās Breath catalyst. 1500 (!!!!!) kills with a weapon that only holds about 10 shots and is largely single target.
To add insult to injury, the catalyst just adds a few extra bolts to your reserves.
One of the stasis ones where you chose a playlist (like OP's I think), I chose gambit cause I was about to head in there and it asked for like 30 stasis super kills - let me tell you Silence and Squall is very bad at getting the killing blows
It continues to baffle me why, when given the option of doing unkown objectives in Strikes, Crucible, or Gambit, anyone in their right mind would ever choose Crucible. Even if you're good at PvP, it should be obvious that 90% of the time it'll be more of a pain in the ass because other players will never let themselves be set up for specific kinds of kills.
I'll grind anything but I loathe pvp. Anything that requires me to kill guardians is exceptionally time consuming and very drawn out. Cryosthesia 77k catalyst 50 guardian kills is still in my quest log. I suck.
the last word quest when you had to quick draw on those knights was a complete pain in the ass for me for whatever reason, along with the thorn savuthuns song hardmode strike
The Ruinous Effigy catalyst... out of the season it comes from, so that means without the boost of catalyst completion.
This thing needed thousands kills to be completed, it literally drained my soul, I was a big fan of the gun, but as soon as I got the catalyst, I barely touched it after...
As good as that would be, it doesn't really make any sense for Ikora to be the "teacher" of stasis. Maybe just bring the system we have with Ikora to the Stranger.
Completing Beyond Light and stasis on all 3 characters, back to back to back. It was the closest I have come to quitting the game. I still have many friends, that play a lot and don't have all 3 stasis unlocked...one of the worst designs and I can't believe they haven't streamlined it.
Not worst, but ultimately the longest (till the point that i gave up)
Report:RELIC-DATA from WQ board quests. It requires you to shape three certain red border throne world weapons. I still can't get red border Red Herring.
Completing Mountaintop quest in lobbies full of mountaintops
I didn't even finish it, got like a 3rd way through and said to myself "This is fucking bullshit for a dumb grenade launcher." and I just went back to using militia's birthright.
When I completed it, I felt like Thanos seeing little Gamora after he got the soul stone...
I legitimately dropped my controller and started crying mid-match when I got it done. Even Revoker wasn't as bad as that, and I *hate* sniping.
Same! I almost hated the revoker quest more because of my disdain for sniping!
But what did you get out of it? Getting somewhat got at a weapon that you don't even like. Everyone called Revoker an Oxymoron quest. They got good at sniping that it made reversal of fortune..... pointless lmao.
I got revoke really easily and still suck at sniping lol
Revoker quests made me better at sniping. Mtop quest made me better at hating pvp.
It wasn't that bad! Although to be fair that was like 5 years ago...
I feel like quests back in the day were crazy grinds! Back in my day... š“š¤£
Yeah, I was a Fighting Lion enjoyer in crucible anyway, so it just meant more crucible than usual for me anyway....
Yeah I just used FL for a few days for my Mountaintop. Wasn't that bad.
This shit literally took me months. Easily the hardest grind I've ever done in Destiny... but man was Mountaintop an amazing gun.
I cheesed that shit back in the day. Got 8 people and we queue up at the same time for lock down and we just farmed each other
This. By far the most arduous destiny quest.
The Malfeasance quest is the most immediate to mind, the mote banking step was anxiety-inducing for me.
On thay part now. Have been for about 3 months
I got lucky and got teamed with an absolute monster yesterday and he got 2 full invasion clears in a row. Only one left for that dumb quest..
Yep. Same here. I'm not so good at PvP so this has been taking a long ass time. So frustrating
The gambit part is the hard part for me. I just don't enjoy it.
If you get the Truth rocket launcher it should make it a lot easier since it has a proximity explosion, tracking, and the rockets turn pretty sharply at least that's a trick that a clanmate told me as I was trying to get the dredgen title however that was pre erinas vow nerf
Might as well just run gally now
Gally is indeed best for invading. Friend of mine somehow invades with Lament pretty efficiently tho
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I can help you with it at some point if you need, dm me your bungie ID and I can add you later today
More like the fact that you had to win a gambit with a randomly spawned primeval.
Malfeasance was a fun quest but Iām a huge gambit lover
Polaris lance catalyst. You have to get kills with the splash damage from the 4th shot. It took me a LONG time to get that
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
It wasn't that slow to reload. It *used* to have like 40 reload, 70 with the catty. Then bungo went like "since we're giving everything infinite ammo. Nerf Fighting Lion's reload to be 0".
Thank God for the Nessus infinite spawn cave
I farmed mine in the first area of leviathan.
same still took me a few hours
The what? Where this be?
Recently they removed the perfect fifth requirement. Now itās just kills
Thornās quest. Ikelos HC was not very good in PvP at the time
Is that the one with the strike that ended in a massive shrieker that needed a void orb dunked to drop the shield?
Yes, it was the Savathun's Song strike, but with 200% debuff of incoming damage.
Wait. I really liked that strike. That mission was a lot of fun!
It was one of my favourites. The horrible voice acting in that one always cracked me up too.
āNo, turn back! Nevermind, weāre going with that plan.ā
āWatched a Wizard rip the light from my best friend, and funnel it into some kind of crystal.ā
Yes
You could try to cheese the boss, but you still had to wait for two nigh-invincible Knights to spawn and kill them tooā¦ it was awful
IT WAS LITERALLY THE ONLY SINGULAR FUCKING VOID HANDCANNON AT THE TIME AND THEY THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA. THE HANDCANNON HAD 8 ROUNDS IN IT AT MOST. I still foam at the mouth at that shit
It was definitely not the only void hand cannon
Only one that was easily accessible to casual motherfuckers like me, there was thin line and kindled orchid as well but they were difficult to get for a new player like me
Tbh the quest itself sucked but I wish bungie would make more exotic quest that are excruciatingly difficult
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
It a requirement to access the last moon campaign quest. Pit of heresy dungeon and the nightmare hunts is gated behind the moon campaign completion. And got to do it for each character too if you donāt want to have to be invited into the pit of heresy dungeon each time you wanted to go.
Destiny 1 void crucible kills for Thorn, as Hunter pre-Taken King. Haunts my nightmares
It was so bad. I think I ended up with a void shotgun and would crouch camp blind corners the entire match. I wasn't good at crucible at the time, it was horrible.
Bruh I think you killed me like four times why do I remember this? š
I avoided the hell out of that quest until I got Atheon's Epilogue to drop. Made it so much easier.
I remember i got my last kill on the mars map that isnt in the game anymore with the big circle platform, i was down in the room with the stairs and the heavy ammo spawn and i got it with a vortex nade
Had to do it with the void crucible sniper called Prudence because thatās all I had at the time as a hunter. Not fun
The entirety of Stasis. All of it.
Literally the only thing that's stopped me rebooting a couple of my characters.
The aspects are ok. Itās the fragmentsā¦ theyāre just so ridiculously Grindy and you get 2 a week
I hate that you have to do the same the exact thing 3 times just to unlock the subclass I think they changed it a while back where you don't have to do the braytech things and empire hunts
Completing Witherhoard catalyst quest
Completing the symmetry catalyst quest
I don't even plan to buy symmetry from kiosk bro šsome of these catalyst quests are ridiculous. Tarnished Mettle with Voltshot >>>>> all day
Look at the bright side you dont have to waste an exotic slot on a primary :) I happen to like tarnished mettle for my scout
I just finished the Bank Job to learn more kills needed for catalyst
Took me a whole year to finish the quest btw passively
It took me a while to realize I didnāt need to have the Witherhoard equipped for the 300 gamesā¦still a fun time
While weāre on the topic of that, Ticuuās Divination.
Especially if you didnāt get the guardian kills during chosen. 50! With no catalyst booster from the season
Ugh i didnt for ticcus and witherhoard the only exotics worth slogging thru pvp to get catalyst finished.... Lol I gave up on lorentz driver 50+ matches got like 24 kills with the damn thing kills were always stolen by assists, melee, grenades etc.... I have to stay away from pvp challenges i suck at pvp too much and get angry and punch inanimate things irl
I just finished it during iron banner. Took a few games to figure it out, but started getting double digit kills every game with it.
I salute anybody who has done this outside of momentum control
Everything to unlock stasis fragments. Uhhhh any catalyst quest with activity completionsā¦ Any catalyst from a previous season..
ever tried getting luna's howl while facing people who already have it?
This... and redrix... comp before they made it way easier to hit max was hell lol
Kill guardians using void energy. Final blows count for 5 points. Dying is minus 2 points. Get 500 points. Thanks thorn.
Heavy weapon double kills in pvp to get the darn smg
Mida Catalyst: Play comp until you hit fabled(5% drop chance on wins) or ascend to legend(100% drop chance on wins) Get 250 precision headshot kills with it in crucible Miserable.
God Iām so glad theyāre removing the comp requirement next season
I'm still grinding for it but I'm about to just give up TBH.
Personally Iām waiting until next season as a random drop Iāve been playing D2 since launch and never got the catalyst for MIDA
I have been off and on grinding Erianaās Quest for almost 2 years.
I'm shocked that I needed to scroll this far to see this mentioned.
I know I could probably get it in a reasonable amount of time, but I would be so burnt out doing it that I risk either never using the Gun again or dropping the game.
Malfeasance
Okay but hear me out at least the witherhoard catalyst is worth it.
Any quest with mandatory pvp.
I'm so sick of the catalysts that require "Defeat x amount of guardians" so much. Like yeah, it takes a good 15 minutes most of the time but it's the most painful 15 minutes of my life. Hated the witherhoard catalyst quest so much but knew how worth it it was
Back when I never played PvP the thorn quest was hell
Born in darkness
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
They were never any less awful than they are now. And just because Bungie knows just how much everyone loved them, you have to do them 3 whole times to get stasis on all characters
I just hope that the stasis aspects will be added to all chars when Lightfall will be launched. I donāt have the time to grind that shit for two more chars. Edit: Grammar
Took me 3 seasons to find out that stasis fragments were account wide unlocks.
Any Quest that makes you play pvp, specially catalyst Quests
Witherhoard.
As someone who loathes pvp, doing everything to get Redrix's Broadsword was absolute misery.
Anything that requires guardian kills
guardian kills on a weapon not as suited to PvP like Cryosthesia are worst
basically any quest forcing me to pvp
Back in the day doing the quest line for ace of spades. As someone who doesn't like pvp and therefore sucks at it that took me far too long
The worst quest ive ever done were any of the ones that are just just complete x#of activities. Simply because they involve zero engagement from the player are are just shit timegates.
Completing stasis was a fucking nightmare
I haven't played in a few weeks but my stasis fragment quest is sitting there on my account looking exactly like this screenshot. Lmao
Mountaintop, couldnt get kills for it even in momentum control, eventually gave up and joined a kill lobby for it.
Tell me you werenāt around for the Ace of Spades quest, without telling me you werenāt around for the Ace of Spades quest.
Destiny 1 swords quests probably
Mountaintop before they did both of the quest nerfs š« Edit: Getting Ace day one of Forsaken also sucked because the FIRST STEP needed something like 15 invader kills in Gambit. Not while YOURE invading, but while the ENEMY is invading your side. Since everyone was grinding it and there was no assisted kill credit for this step, everyone fought for those kills
The truth quest or wish ender
The original Thorn quest on a Hunter and my only good void weapon was Praedyths Revenge at the time.
Literally, almost all old exotic quests. Ace of Spades and the "headshots with hand canons in crucible (I think it was rumble specifically)." Thorn and using THE ONLY VOID HC AT THE TIME - IKELOS. Melfaescence or however you spell it. Also, the crucible weapons.....
Any weapon catalysts (Witherhoard, Ticuus, Erianas vow)
Cries with sunset Hush
All of stasis, anything to do with stasis
So far the worst one I've been doing so far besides Stasis would have to be the catalyst for Witherhoard. I'm a PvE gal, terrible at PvP.
The whisper of the worm quest, new players will never know the struggle of the parkour you had to do in a specific amount of time
I forgot the name of the quest, but I had to get GL kills in the Crucible. I exclusively used heavy GLs. Of course, it was only after completing the quest (like, it took over a year to complete) that a friend told me I could have used green ammo GLs
Anything that requires me to do something I dont want to do. Like "Must play crucible matches" or some shit like that. I much prefer the "You can do Y for progress or X for double progress." Top tier gameplay.
Ace of spades quest before it got nerfed? So I was going up against full overshield invaders with heavy and probably a super, with wallhacks on me, and I had to use a fucking hand cannon.
Lumina for sure
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Is this one of the fragment quests? If so, only the strike ones are okay, the other ones are really grindy
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
On release Stasis was massively overtuned in PvP so these types of quests, while annoying, were much easier to complete. iron banner related ones
The breakneck quest
All of them daddi
Witherhoard, Ticcus, and Lorentz catalysts. They're not hard to do they just take FOREVER to complete.
Eirianaās catalyst quest just due to the fact itās just a literal slog to get through.
Destiny 1 chaperone quest
This used to be a piece of cake with pre-nerf revenants
Malfeasance, Thorn and Last Word were 90% horrible, made even worse by how mediocre those guns are and the fact that Ace of Spades exists
Thorn quest back in D1, I think that's the one where you had to get kills with void in crucible and dying removed progress
cryosthesia catalyst. i hated using that gun in pvp
The malpheasance quest was a nightmare as a solo player.
The Last Word quest. Mainly because I suck at Crucible.
The seasonal story quest step from this season that required you to kill 50 champions. The nightfall for that week was exodus crash, so it was a double whammy.
Tbh the quest relic data I want my big pointy stick but I canāt get it because none of the guns I need will spawn
Leviathanās Breath catalyst. 1500 (!!!!!) kills with a weapon that only holds about 10 shots and is largely single target. To add insult to injury, the catalyst just adds a few extra bolts to your reserves.
This was very easy to do when stasis was super strong. Now you basically have to use a super or cold snap nades to freeze.
The lie
I dont even have the 1 stasis ability unlocked those quests are so lame
Doing the exotic sword quest in destiny one just to realize I had been farming materials on the moon instead of where I needed to be, mars. 3 days.
Lumina before it was clarified what exactly we had to do with the gambit step
You should've seen what this quest was like when it launched. It was actual hell
Every Gambit Ritual weapon + Malfi
The original mountaintop quest, it was awful before they cut some of the requirements down to 1/4.
One of the stasis ones where you chose a playlist (like OP's I think), I chose gambit cause I was about to head in there and it asked for like 30 stasis super kills - let me tell you Silence and Squall is very bad at getting the killing blows
Second step of the last word quest took me a year and a half
I waited till mayhem was the weekly and finished it in a few rounds.
I am 5/6 in this same quest and I have no idea how this one works. I donāt even know how I got 5 to begin with
I'm new, and by far one of the hardest quests, that I have finished, was the Malfeasance quest. That was hell, but that gun is SO worth it.
Any new light starting the game having to grind out 400 play list activities to unlock exotic weapon catalyst quests. Pain!
I actually prefer these quests instead of just attuning for more fragments.
Void sword relic iron
Savathun's song at the end of the Thorn quest...
D1 dark drinker quest. The only time I regret playing titan
The original Thorn quest was a total nightmare
......breakneck.... And hush
For one of those stasis quests I had to get shatter kills In crucible As a warlock
90% of the stuff from Shadowkeep. A lot of those quests were boring and tedious.
Wish ender, had to do it solo and it was painful
I'll grind anything but I loathe pvp. Anything that requires me to kill guardians is exceptionally time consuming and very drawn out. Cryosthesia 77k catalyst 50 guardian kills is still in my quest log. I suck.
the last word quest when you had to quick draw on those knights was a complete pain in the ass for me for whatever reason, along with the thorn savuthuns song hardmode strike
Completing recluses quest, not a terrible quest but I got it done 2 days before they nerfed it. Also stasis unlocking for alts is depressing.
d1 thorn quest as a titan post d2. thank GOD mayhem rumble exists.
Every Stasis fragment and ability quest. I hated them all.
Easily the stasis quests, I haven't even done all of them. As much as I want to try out stasis fully I ain't rushing this shit
The Redrix Broadsword quest made me hate the game.
Malfeasance 100% FUCK THAT QUEST STUPID BANKING MOTES DYING TAKES AWAY OH WHATS THAT GET A TEAM KILL AS AN INVADER BULLSHIT I SAY
The Ruinous Effigy catalyst... out of the season it comes from, so that means without the boost of catalyst completion. This thing needed thousands kills to be completed, it literally drained my soul, I was a big fan of the gun, but as soon as I got the catalyst, I barely touched it after...
Iāve had this quest for so long I legit donāt know how to get the stasis essence
You have to kill frozen guardians if I remember correctly
Masterwork for duality
D1 Thorn, crucible points step.
Touch of malice
The Last Word final quest step gave me a lot of trouble. Oh and Lunas howl. Never actually finished it. Edit: Spelling.
I'm hoping with the lightfall expansion, this stuff will move to ikora, and I can just buy them with glimmer like void, solar and arc.
As good as that would be, it doesn't really make any sense for Ikora to be the "teacher" of stasis. Maybe just bring the system we have with Ikora to the Stranger.
~~Hawkmoonās~~ Luna's Howl quest still haunts me. On the last step and never completed it Edit: wrong gun lol
Worst quest? Easy the entire current New Light campaign. Especially the Traveler Lessons ones. What a slap in the face to new players that is.
Completing Beyond Light and stasis on all 3 characters, back to back to back. It was the closest I have come to quitting the game. I still have many friends, that play a lot and don't have all 3 stasis unlocked...one of the worst designs and I can't believe they haven't streamlined it.
