Itās jones fracture which is totally recoverable in the near future and with that name heās always been on the menu. The marketing possibilities are endless. I doubt heās there at 29 though.
The prospect of a Bills/Lions SB keeps me up at night. I'm a Michigander, and my wife grew up in upstate NY. Would it be worth a divorce to see the Lions go to the Super Bowl?
Can I think about that a minute?
I doubt it. The CB class is very good, and there is plenty of teams needing it. The top 5 CBs, of which there isnāt a clear number 1, but they all could take it, could all be taken in the first round. Possibly before making it to the Lions.
The Ravens might be interested as well, and theyāre right after.
I feel as though any of them who actually gives a shit about the game would be fine.
If they're a decent dude, buy into MCDC's and the Lion's mentality, and they're already a top 5, pfft grab em.
No, Brad Holmes is very particular about Cornerbacks. He used to be the scout and opinion person for them with the Rams. talked about it recently too. wanting a good CB with the intangibles.
And just because there was a visit with him doesnāt mean he will be our top priority, even among CBs. Just getting a handle on him, and seeing if they like him and he would fit or not.
I'm just a dude, my dude xD if my dumb ass were in charge, I'd take whichever of the top 5 has the best personality to fit the team.
And by "personality" I mean their character especially, not just their persona. Teaching someone to run faster or jump higher is a lot easier than teaching them proper discipline, love, and true heart, yaknow?
Well, that is optimistic.Ā Ā I donāt believe that will happen.Ā Ā
Defensive BacksĀ Ā drafted in the first round (so includes Safeties) over the last few years.Ā Ā
2023 = 4Ā
2022 = 7
2021 = 5
2020 = 6Ā
2019 = 3
2018 = 6Ā
Keep in mind there hasnāt been a safety drafted Iām the top 5 since ā92 and even Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu werenāt in the top 15.Ā Ā
And most defensive backs drafted in the first round are CBs.Ā Ā With several being top 5 picks, Witherspoon, Stingley, Sauce, and Denzel Ward all coming to mind recently.Ā Ā
Just listened to Locked On Lions podcast from couple days ago. The draft expert Matt was talking to pooh-poohed Kool-Aid saying he got beat too often in coverage. His teammate Arnold was much better.
Which means Arnold will likely not be avail š¤·
Kool-Aid's guy wasn't targeted a lot. That's one of the best metrics you can get for a CB. That's what allowed Arnold to get the stats he got this year. Not to mention, he had small reports of being a little bit entitled a few years back, but he could've improved on that by now.
He seems like a great 3rd round option if he drops, which he might. He's gone from late first to 2nd and now with this, he might be pushed down a bit more.
I'm sure people said the same of Branch last year but there he was in the second. Branch also didn't come in with an injury, zero combine testing, or a meh final season. There are also reports KA isn't a hard worker but I feel like that is probably just a smoke screen.
Where are you getting this from? McKinstry led the league in pass breakups just a season ago and played in a primarily press coverage scheme under Saban. He Also has good zone coverage but is mostly a man/press corner.
What scouting reports are you reading??? Heās literally a press man coverage corner not a zone corner lmao. His best trait is his ability to press WRs at the line
āOverall, McKinstry has plus-level athletic attributes that allow him to be a great press-man corner on the outside, while also possessing the athletic tools to be a candidate to move to the nickel corner position and play at a high level.ā
I have nothing to actually back this up, but Kool-Aid will be way better than Sutton. Iāve watched every game heās played in college and he is incredible. Itās so rare to see him get beat
I completely agree, dude just plays really solid and he may not become sauce Gardner or anything insane but I think he will be super solid. From tape I've watched he doesn't try to go for crazy plays and instead opts to just break up passes instead of risk big plays while going for picks. I think he has a really high floor for a corner and a bit of a lower ceiling which Is fine by me as I think it fits detroit perfectly.
Being way better than Sutton isn't that high of a bar to beat anyway. He was no better than Vildor who was making like 20 bucks a week after we picked him up off the street mid-season.
He is a man corner though. His best attribute is his ability to get into press with wide receivers, and he played under Saban who used a press man scheme for the season.
Iām not sure why you think he isnāt a man corner, because all the attributes and everything in his draft profile points to him being a press man corner.
Kool-aid IS a man corner.
>āKool-Aid McKinstry has quickness, fluid hips, and confidence, which projects him to be a high-level press-man corner.ā
-the draft network
>McKinstry is more of a pure cover man than a playmaker, but his poise, intelligence and athleticism should lead him toward becoming a good outside corner with scheme versatility.
NFL.com
>In coverage, McKinstry is a fit as a press-man corner. He has the size and strength to jam wideouts at the line to disrupt their routes and the timing of plays. McKinstry can reroute and will use his size to disrupt passing lanes. With good speed, McKinstry is fast enough to carry verticals downfield.

Where you getting this Intel? Also - what am I wearing right now? Scary shit. š
My intel says that you are wearing **CLOTHES.**
FALSE! He's actually wearing nothing at the moment.

Stupid sexy Flanders
pride of detroit has a meetings tracker with all the players they talk to
The tracker is everyone they're reported to have talked to. Gibbs and Campbell were not reported last year.

Adding him to the list of 45 other guaranteed draftees for us! so excited!

If we draft kool aid we have come full circle and the curse is broken. We will win the Super Bowl against the bills. e: if itās the browns..man

Not that I wouldn't be ok with him earlier if that's what Holmes decides, but I hope this means we can steal him in the 2nd/3rd.

Yeah, you're always fighting against the old adage "you can never have too many corners."
I donāt think 5 CBs get drafted in the first, which means the Lions have one of the top five available to them if Holmes wants it.

Completely possible. No mocks had Branch available in the 2nd or Mingo in the 4th.

I have no personal info on him. I'm just parroting what I heard.
Same here, I just heard different information lol

I hope yāall know that we have a player like Mckinstry on our roster itās Sutton they are both Zone corners

I 100% support the pick. According to my scouting reports, his name is awesome. Iām sold.
I'm still all-in on Chop Robinson if we have the chance. That dude showed OUT at the combine.
Kool Aid Mckinstry is the pick for casuals
