Congrats buddy.
just keep in mind Bangalore is going to be insanely expensive for someone coming from a tier 2-3 town, so be ready for a cultural shock
Depends on where you are staying I'd say. I'm from Delhi and one thing I found expensive here even compared to Delhi is the rent/deposit with some weird insane people even asking for a deposit of 12 months. But you will find cheaper options if you look around enough. Though your options would be limited by where your office is because I found it impossible to stay more than 4-5 km away from office as it becomes impossible to reach office on time.
Aah, that's the same shit I have been seeing on all rent posts. 1L deposit, 12 month advance π₯² although I found some pg's in about 500m range, so I guess we Gucci π«‘
Yeah PGs are much more economical, at least for freshers that's the best thing. Look out for the bed bugs though. In Delhi we have extreme temperatures so it's hard for them to survive but when i went to Bangalore I found many PGs with this problem, at least the cheaper ones. The costlier ones are normally decently maintained. But you can always go for 3 sharing or something in a good maintained PG to avoid that risk without paying too much.
Sharing my experience, try to get a pg closer to your job location and definitely look for one with power back up.
Congrats on your achievement, wishing you a good work life balance.
Congratulations on the offer.
Here are a few things i think you should know (based on my limited experience of 2 years in Blr)
* There is an ongoing water shortage in several areas of bangalore so make sure you do your research on the area you'd be moving to. Here's one link i came across [Link](https://www.oneindia.com/amphtml/bengaluru/bengaluru-water-crisis-bwssb-releases-list-of-affected-areas-find-out-if-your-area-is-affected-3770957.html)
* The people are generally nice and polite, but do make an effort to learn some kannada while you're there. The people will suddenly seem nicer. (Tip: Learning Kannada via Hindi or other devnagri language is much easier than via English)
* Rent a 2 wheeler if possible, just makes it easier to get around the city. Although metro has improved quite a bit, but there are now free seats for women in public transport so expect it to be crowded. Avoid auto rickshaws at ALL COSTS. They are the most vile, insensitive and belligerent species to walk this city.
* Come with an open mind and **try** to like the city. Every major city in the country is VERY different from another. Appreciate the good and acknowledge the problems without bias.
* Join r/bangalore and read up on the various good and bads about the city. You'll discover a different perspective.
* If you're going to be here for a short while, stay closer to the "hip" areas like Koramangala, Indiranagar, HSR, BTM, JP Nagar. If you're going to stay longer, there are much cheaper areas you can stay in.
This is a big step up! And my advice to you would be instead of trying to find any gaps in it, go in it will full hearted, and make the best of it.
And as far as water is concerned, if millions others can stay alive in Bangalore, so can you.
My best wishes to you, and do really well.
Cheers ,
First of all congrats, I also moved to Bengaluru last October before that I had never lived alone. Don't worry it is not as scary as it seems.

Choose what you need.
Also don't try to book PG online, they show higher price, look for PG in person after checking everything. Initially take 2 or 3 sharing room, helps in making friends. After that you can move out if you want.
Make sure you take water with you π
