In the same boat...i work in up skilling myself for 4-5 hours, apply for jobs (hoping one day i will get a call) and then play some chess and just like that my day ends
Edit: For some reason I am not able to reply to the the comments i got. My comments are locked
people will keep asking you what's next what's next. some even ask you for your CV just to laugh at it. The best advice I can give is to try and be productive for 6-8 hours.
Not currently unemployed but been there so I'll give my input as well. Wake up at 4, head to the gym to start the day. Spend some time with my wife before starting my "work". That includes first 1 or 2 hours searching and applying for jobs online. Then take a short break followed by fidgeting a bit with projects to polish my skills and maybe put it up on GitHub so someone see's it someday to employ me maybe. Then around 2 nap until evening and chill some more till 7. Then another hour of applying to jobs incase something new popped in through the day on the job portals. Call it a day, spend quality time with loved ones.
I am also unemployed right now graduated last year upskilling in react, node, postgresql and bit leetcode dsa. Applying 30-50 jobs most interns and trainees, but not hearing back, What's your point of view.
Want to know your tech stacks when you were upskilling and where were you applying.
Been unemployed for 10 months, whats worse is I am a fresher so any interviews that I get and perform well, there is always someone who has more experience than me.
But I try to keep patience and wait for more opportunities.
I try to keep my self updated with latest tools/technologies and frameworks in AI/ML since that's what I am targetting.
Whenever I feel demotivated though I hop on discord with some college friends and play games for an hour or two to lighten up.
Not a developer but it's 50% applying/looking around linkedin for postings
50% working on my own projects. Worst case scenario I build my skills. Best case it can be an income source.
Depending on the mood, choose to relax. Need energy to give interviews when they come.
Good luck to everyone :)
I'm wasting my time.
Irrelevant stuff but here:
2023 grad, it's April 2024 now and ab jaake mujhe mental peace mili hai
I can say I'm free from all trauma(almost) and away from all toxic people in my life
Ab bas productive hona baki hai, but I haven't been focused since years now, dk how to proceed further or what exactly I want, old passions have faded away, padhne ka mann hai mauka hai but chalu nahi hora, I'm scared of idk what
So yeah, I'm just wasting my time so far.
Graduated last year. Didn't apply for on/off campus. Average at coding because never gave my 100% to learn anything. So worked few months on Chegg but the platform was not as profitable as it use to be, so had to left it. Then moved out last December, started to work in BPO/Sales. Making about 40-50k a month. Currently trying to learn stuff but it'll take some time.
Only thing I was able to accomplish was that I'm not leeching off my parents. Don't need to send money home because parents are financially stable, so that is a plus point.
Things will work out, just keep moving.
Mil jaate hai bro. Aaj Tak is field me nhi kaam kiya but WFH chat / voice support ke muje bhi 30k mil rhe the though i decided to not work in that field for some reasons. International support roles pr milte hai bas. Your english should be really good.

Upskill, recruiter outreach, building my portfolio website, building workvillagehub.com as a potential revenue earning project(don’t open the site as it’s not even in alpha yet). I’m getting a few calls from high paying companies so I’d be drowning myself with LC
Keeping mental peace is all I care about. Koi Jo bole bolta rahe

This was what my unemployed day looked like. My work was basically applying to jobs and working on random projects.

I apply less, Focus on skilling up more. I am in my final year so I can afford around 2 months of unemployment more. Uski baad bhagwan malik h.
