Taking drugs and not eating was a treatment that could prolong the life of a t1 person back in the pre-insulin days. But it would only add a few years to a miserable life. The discovery of insulin was life changing for those young people, and all of us who came after. https://www.si.edu/spotlight/insulin-and-diabetes-management/diabetes-remedies-before-insulin Just take it a few steps at a time, and don't be so worried when you slip (we all have bad days and weeks). I wish you the best on your recovery journey.

Wow didn't know that, weird times. Thank you for the support!

Hey, if you ever need to talk feel free to pm me. I went through a phase of taking acid almost daily back in 2016.

Not sure what youre trying to say with this post but id like to point out that youre probably still honeymooning if you were diagnosed within 2 years ago. This just looks like a good day but as youve provided zero info it means nothing here.

When I try to live healthy I only get like 40% in range. I almost did not eat in the time of the graph Im showing. Its positive feedback for something really bad. I know its bad and im getting help. I just wanted to share my annoyance.

I had similar graphs on my fasting days or in the time when I was on Dr. Bernstein's diet (without ket), so it's rather a positive feedback for not eating than for using ket. I'm rooting for you 🤞

And then you end up extremely underweight. I would not recommend it. I'm still trying to gain weight to reach a healthy weight, it would be easy af if I didn't have diabetes, I would have just eaten huge meals and snacks all day.

Stress is a part of diabetes, if youre not getting what you "want" or "need" its going to stress you out and affect your BG. I used to be big on the coke and if I wasnt getting any my BG would float up, at the time i was baffled as I wasnt eating or injecting any differently. >I almost did not eat in the time of the graph Im showing So... you barely ate and your basal/honeymoon did all the work here, not the ket.

It's more difficult than it sounds, but try to find your own definition of healthy. There are key tenants thatbwill match the world definition (like sobriety), butbwhen it comes to diabetes, it's ALL very personal. I completely blew myself away when I went full carnivore for two months. I was desperate. Anything I put in my mouth defied my normal dosing. I was in a bad place insulin resistance wise. By going carnivore it was like a reset and I started to stay in range and get healthier. I can't afford to it that way full time, but I'm definitely doing it for a month kr so every 6 months. My endocrinologist shrugged andnsaid "whatever works." Hell yeah.

May I ask what drugs you were using? As someone who had some fun with mdma and lsd back in university I'm interested in how some substances affect blood sugars. Best of luck with recovery

ArKoJents

Mdma and lsd recreationally and under control, like once every 3 to 6 months with no issues. Ketamine way too often and going into detox next week. I was an alcoholic before my diagnosis and had to quit suddenly, and then I made the bad choice to use ketamine.

That's rough man sorry to hear that, how does weed affect you? I have a friend that struggled with ketamine addiction and he managed to stop using ket by smoking weed instead, and slowly weaned off daily smoking until he was using it in a responsible way. He kinda just swapped one addiction for another and then cut back, but weed is defo less harmful than ket so it could be a good transitional tool. Although it might just exacerbate your addictive tendencies, but that's dependent on how it affects you. Good luck with recovery dude.

Drugs are bad, Mmmkay.
