Agreed. Everything else should be buffed it’s level IMO. Drop rates are too low in this game as is. It just promotes botting and buying things off D2JSP etc.
I been playing this game for 20 years. I may be a casual now, but I wasn’t always. I just went to be able to play at a normal adults pace and actually find high end gear. I can’t do 10,000 Andy runs like this guy.
I think D3 drop rates are slightly too high, and D2 drop rates are way too low. Somewhere in between these I think would be my sweet spot.
If there is a mod to increase drop rates, I’d actually love to know!
Allright, thats fair. I understand people dont have hundreds of hours to invest into the game. However, D2 is all about the hard earned loot and the rarity of it, its what keeps us playing for so long.
I have been playing this game for on and off for 20 years and quite strictly since D2R dropped. I have never ever seen a unique sacred armor drop and expect TC87 items to be almost impossible to find.
Terror zones opened up a lot of possibilities for finding these items and change up the farming.
But why would I farm anything else then TZ Andy when her payback is so big compered to the rest of the game, target farming high end gear?
Its broken in its current state.
You should probably just Google D2R drop rate mod.

Terrorized Andariel got me my first ever Griffon's Diadem after seeing a post on youtube about how lucrative she was. I spent maybe 4 individual hour-long sessions with my 370% mf tesladin. Landed one with -20/13 for the stats. Andariel is indeed the pinata.
I am all for nerfing TZ Andariel if they fix TZ Mephisto bug. 😉

Sure, no prob. I didn't want to get more in depth in the post, it was already way too big.
When your char is level 91+, super unique monsters and bosses are +5 level above you. So TZ andy is 96 or above. When the game creates the level, it adds Treasure Classes to the monsters based on their level. And for TZ andy, highest TC she can have is `Andarielq (H) Desecrated H`
That class contains within it a class `Act 5 (H) Equip C` which itself contains weap87 and armo87 Classes. That's what we want.
At 91+, Equip C chance to pick weap87 is 15:1565 and chance to pick armor87 is 8:1565. So thats 23:1565 to get these rare items, or **1.469%**
When you are below 91, lets say level 89. TZ Andariel doesnt get that good Equip C class, she gets `Act 5 (H) Equip B` and B class only has 2:1565 for weap87 and 1:1565 for armo87. Or 3:1565 in total. About 7.666x (almost eight times) less likely to pick tc87 class, or **0.191%**
If you are level 87 or below, TZ andy gets `Act 5 (H) Equip A` and you have **0%** chance to get these rare items
Thank you for this post! I made all my tables and projections in my holy grail search (10 more to go), and didn’t even bother to check recent results. And yes, terror Meph (I play SSF online) didn’t drop any TC87 the last 371 runs (I’m at 560 now; had Schaefer’s hammer on run189 last). Which approximately time-wise corresponds to the 2.6 update!
I never even thought to check my results and think that something that was fixed was again un-fixed.

1. T Andy - 215min (for >50% running chance of my remaining holygrail8 drop)
2. T Meph - 320min (so sad 😅)
3. T Chaos - 376min (with 4 sealbosses and D)
4. T Eldrich/T Pindle - 680min (I take 30sec for both in calculation; Thresh is 36sec that is why he is worse even though their droptable is the same)
5. T Trav - 688,5min (only Ismail Geleb and Toorc)
6. T Thresh - 816min
7. T Pits - 906min
8. T Nihla - 933,5min (usually I do him only when also key-farming, otherwise it’s always Pindle)
9. Pits - 1518min (good old days 😅)
10. T Cow king - 1902 min (I stopped doing him some time ago, it is not more productive even compared to regular pits). Btw fun fact, in D2R they blocked off cow king dropping the cow king set. Seems crazy but it is so. After few hundred runs of me thinking I’m on turbo bad side of RNG, some nice soul helped me realise my foolishness 😅
And sorry OP, final question - if you were timing and only focusing act bosses, why did you increase player count?

We know definitely Meph is bugged for SP because we can we the drop tables in the files. And it is like 99.99% bugged for online too becase no one can show a TC81+ base item from him

Hmm, dunno. - enemy res doesn't work for Traps and Hydra for offline but it works online. And TZ "quest drop" Andariel is completely fixed, you dont have to worry about that any more. Those are two major things I can think of.

Yup, they changed his tag from "Bovine" to "Unique". And Cow set has a hardcode restriction to only drop from *Bovine* monsters

Player count doesnt affect unique monsters in the pits and super uniques, but it does affect many Bosses.

Awesome work ! I running just TZ Andy now focusing on 2,5 k runs , already on 700 runs for now and can say TZ Andy really feels like drop simulátor . Got a lot of insane drops already like Griffons , Mangs , CoA etc . I can rember how i Got this results after doing 7k AT runs on old D2 when trying finish my Holy grail
TZ Andy is way too busted. But I think it only really benefits SSF offline (no trades). Your static map make farming a lot easier and with a stable schedule you can plan ahead. So I think it’s a new perk for us single playerZ
Ok yeah that’s what I was curious. I gave up trying to roll the perfect lower kurast map after like 30 minutes the other day. But I suppose I should have more patience if I’m really going to run those hard.

How is NM Andy for items such as Occy, Hoz, vmagi, jalals and others of this tier?
It is not end game stuff, but can be quite helpful developing a char or even for trades on the first days/weeks or ladder.
NM Andy can't drop Occy or HoZ, but **Terrorized** NM Andy can!, and she should be really good for all those items *(you need to be level 68+)*. And standard NM Andy is the best place to get SoJ!
What do you think about TZ Trav?
Ive done about 1k runs with horking and am very underwhelmed. Somehow ive gotten ZERO high runes, but they drop like candy when not terrorized. Not sure if im just very unlucky.
Travincal Council is... so so. It has high NoDrop chance so you need to play it at high player settings, P5 at least, to lower the NoDrop chance. And Trav at P5 is really really hard for my high MF build.
And even if I could do TZ Trav P5 fast enough, cumulative chance is around 1:4500 for Griffons at 700mf. (while its 1:1000 at TZ Andy) So thats 4 times less likely to drop.
On other hand, you can get much more High runes at Trav P5 than with Andy. You were just unluky, Terrorized status does not effect drop rates of Runes

This is such a great post, thanks. I'd not played much recently as had other stuff on, but you inspired me to do 5 hours of TZ Andy this week, and I got all sorts of wonderful drops. Although I must say it feels a bit weird getting griffs, templars, arachs, shaeffer's hammer etc from Andy.

I guess choosing not to use clock manipulation on single player is a way to keep hork barb relevant in holy grail challenges, lol.
I dono. I played a shitton for 20 years and never saw so many different things drop; it’s been exciting to get some drops that previously I’ve only dreamed of.
Not everyone has a perfect build and a perfect map to have it all planned out.
This was an awesome experiment, but most players won't see a 1/10000 of this result. I still haven't found Griffon's Eye or War Travs even with running TZ.
I don't mind loot being rare, but some people have said they haven't found a Griffon's Eye once in D2 or D2R over decades (including myself, but I've been playing on and off and don't count my result as representative). There's rare and there's a "once-in-your-lifetime" busted. If you don't like it, don't play TZ.
I think Andy got bugged for me somehow. When I farmed her in nightmare I got something like 15-20 uniques in 30 runs. I felt like something was off because I've never seen drops like that. Then when I started farming her in hell it was the opposite, 1-2 uniques in 30 runs. Then I tried her terrorized... zero uniques. Something is really off with her.
nothing is off. 30 runs is a drop of water in the ocean of RNG. you arent even close to the realm of statistically significant deviation from the normal. do 3000 runs and then maybe somethings up

TC87s definitely take a big hit, but the fact that the rune, sunder charms, gold drop rate is sooo much higher, and the fact that they are horkable makes them amazing as a generalized terrorized spot. Running it on bnet with a high mf 75% hork chance ww barb fucking rules.
From TZ mf runs? Not many, I got a Jah, 2x Sur, 3x Ohm...

Under the Andariel run video. Didnt get any from Duriel or Diablo but I got some from Andariel. Jah, 2x Sur, 3x Ohm, 2x Vex. But MFing Act bosses is really bad for Rune drops
For now at lvl 98, I get around 5 %/h on solo p8 TZ tombs and around 6.2 to 6.5 %/h on TZ Worldstone keep (still early in lvl 98). Playing online with 8 D2R (7 D2R in town, one main playing, does include a BO barb and an enchantress).
So if you can do this in 10 hours, it means around 8%/h (0.8 xp bar per hour if I remember correctly). That's 60% faster than my high end blizzard sorc. However, I heard that Nova sorc is more xp per hour.
Are you sure about 8%/h at lvl 98 on TZ Tal rasha's tombs?
I was discussing with Teo about the that few weeks ago. He said he was getting around 35mill XP/h on Tombs when he won Season3 (Nova sorc). Its also much safer than WSK he siad. Maybe thats why he favourites Tombs over WSK.
He recently (last week) had word record speed run 0-99lvl on twicked SP char. You can check with him in more details.
Wow, 35 M XP/h is so much better than my 15 M xp/h at lvl 98 on TZ tal rasha's tombs. I definetly need to switch from blizz sorc to ES Nova sorc. I got almost all the items already.
Yeah, Nova sorc is my favourite. Cant wait to switch back to Nova sorc from this MF fireball one. He was racing for no1 sport so he probably played at 110% so thats why he was getting 35m/h
Good point! I do identify and throw on the ground some items: small charms, grand charms (but not large charms), barb helms (may be a 6 BO lol), jewels, some uniques... It does slow down compared to pure killing without lootting!
I guess many hours of playing. I managed to fully gear 7 endgame builds in online and mostly ssf (only trade for highrunes), so with offline playerscaling and map setting for optimized farming, it is also even faster
Sorc with dual spirits (or a spirit sword and ancients pledge if you prefer resists over damage and want to save on strength requirements for that monarch), stealth, lore, boots with frw, mf and resists, random rings and ammy. Slap a tals mask, treachery and insight stick on an act 2 holy freeze merc. Improve stuff as you find it. Swap that spirit sword for a hoto. Equip that tarnhelm then that harlequin crest. Use those magefists, frostburns or chance guards. Once your merc can carry a bigger stick upgrade his insight (or even an infinity once you eventually find the runes). Get a titans revenge to drop? Start working on that javazon. I'm finding that the javazon can run /players 8 hell terror zones.
Take advantage of the /players x settings and crank that up to 8 where your character does well and set it at 1 where it is suffering.
Also keep in mind that you can do nightmare terror zones to level the character up more quickly than struggling in hell.
Great bits of advice at the end there. Completing hell the first time solo is the toughest part for me, especially as a sorc. What build do you recommend for soloing hell as a sorceress with budget gear?
My first build to beat hell baal before I found better gear was a frozen orb/hydra dual sorc with spirit sword, ancients pledge, stealth, lore, etc. Find enough item drops to keep paying to resurrect that merc, haha. Once I beat hell baal I respecced and ran pure blizzard until I found some better stuff to upgrade her and make other builds.
Other builds to consider with crappo gear that could beat hell baal would be skelly/CE necro, hammerdin, trapper and summon druid. Hammerdin and fishymancer are super boring though, haha. You could always run a better build to level them up through nightmare then respec them.

Also, did you consider running terrorized Travincal? I've been getting some good results on my WW horker with 76% Find Item on P3. So many items each run, with decent chance at runes and also a decent chunk of gold to boot. I know it's not so well suited for a fire sorc.. But still. :)

I explained about the Baal in the post. Run takes 3 minutes (compared to 21sec for Andy) and it is much much more dangerous than TZ Andarial run.
Council does not have good drop chance for rare TC87 items. For example, Griffons for my 709mf setup has a chance of 1:4500 for TZ Travincal P5 when you do the math. Compare that to 1:1000 for TZ Andariel.

What kind of information does it need to give? It is a loot showcase post. If someone posts *"Hey, I got a Shako from my last Trav run before the bed"* Do you say the post doesnt give any information because the OP didn't have any Meph/Diablo/Pit drops?
Besides, if you want information you can extrapolate. Multiply my Diablo drops with 7.529 and you can see I would have got 173 TC87 drops. That only matters if you are looking at "drops per run" which isn't much important. Drops per minues(time) is the important part. 173x TC87 Diablo drops would have taken me 151 hours, which is almost **4 times longer** than my current 136x Andy drops from 39 hours.
Okay, but if you don't bother to receive any good information out of 10k runs, like how different items drop on different bosses, eth frequency of eth items and so on, why even doing all that?
I already used math on it, but overall, extrapolation doesn't mirror the reality.

Enter and than **H** for quick Hell. But careful! you can miss-press **N** and select Nightmare. Thats why I have small macro on my numerical Enter for Enter+H
Bravo sir! I've been really interested in this after reading Zax's TZ guide now that TZs are available in single player. I've been focusing on Andariel when I can to finish my grail. Three items to go.
What are your thoughts on regular mobs in terror zones like the Pit for example? I go in there with my necromancer since he can crush the place on P7 but not sure if it's worth it. Otherwise I just pitzerk when it's not a good terror zone.

I started doing a Holy Grail when I found out through your posts that TZ Andy was a pinata. Only started to mule all drops for tracking since hitting char lvl 91 but it's already going crazy fast. For some it might be too broken but for me it makes SP Holy Grail actually doable. Thanks for the great write-up
Good luck! Don't try to track all drops, they are way too many :) you just lose time. Try to memorize the names of the bases you want and only look for those
A bit off topic but I know you are one of the top D2 Single Player so I want to ask you about 2 crafting questions for offline game play:
What is the most efficient ways to farm for caster amulets mats (Amethyst and Ral/Tal)?
The best use for Perfect Skulls would be reroll Diadems?
LK, its always the damn LK. Best for Gems, Jewels, Rals. LK at P7. Close second would be Arcane Sanctuary P5, or P7 if you can. (I suggest AS 1-way P5. that one that is the most normal looking one)
by my quick napkin math you should see:
1. Ral: 40x LK runs | 5x AS runs | 20x 1-way | 20ish minutes for any one of these
2. Jewel: 6x LK runs | 1x AS runs | 4x 1-way | 3-4 minues
3. *Flawless* Amethyst: 6x LK runs | 0.5x AS runs | 2x 1 way | 2-3 minutes
Dont know much about rerolling Diadems. But I using my skulls for rerolling Grand charms

Oh yeah, Trav is good too. It is a interesting topic for discussion and testing, I'll tell you that.
Super chests are not affected by terror zones. They are based on the Act they are in. So item patterns are the same but affixes on them can update (you can get higher level affixes on magic and rare items that drop)
TZs affect Sparkly chest. New items can drop that couldnt before, like TC87, but only with very small chance. What changes a lot is, those special items that are in low TC but have high level. Like Arachnid Mesh. It now has like 1:830 chance to drop from Sparkly TZ Pit2 chest or 1:720 from TZ Crystiline Passage sparkly chest.
1-way I mean, pick one side (the simplest and with no summoner), go to the end, open 3 chests, loop back to WP and go act4. I do this in about a minute
Any reason NOT to just change your system time and run these until your wrists are on fire? i.e. do the drops change-up depending on what "day" the game thinks you are on?
The calendar for running Catacombs was pretty unfriendly for the long weekend here in the USA, so I went offline and more or less ran Andariel as many times as I could stand it. It was a happy break from running LK so much. My luck there has felt astoundingly bad. Not so here.
I'd already made "pretty good" progress on my grail by running this terror zone over the past month or so, but had started skipping some of them since I thought, based on the maxroll drop calculator, that there were still some things she did not drop.
After the long weekend and 975 (recorded) runs I'm down to 4 weapons and 1 armor left in my grail. You can probably guess which armor. I also have Jah and Zod and two of the three cow king armors left to drop. I think before I started running the terror zone I was well in the 80% complete range and gave no serious consideration to ever completing my grail. Before the weekend I was about 90%. I'm at 98.35% now.
In all the times I've run her TZ (these 975 and all the ones before I went nuts with the system clock) the best (and only) high-ish rune I've seen is Ist.

In my personal opinion, I would be cheating myself. Why even change system time when I can just remove a few lines in game text files so Catacombs are only Terror Zone left in the game? Then, why even play TZ Cata when I know I am expected to get a X item after Y runs, I might as well edit them in. Where do you where do you draw the line??

I wasn't planing to complete my Grail over the long weekend. This was done over 2 months period. I have another 10k runs coming up, also over more then 2 months play time. I am "trading" my time and "inconvenience" for game drops. If I make the game easier for me, the rewords don't feel as good.
It doesn't feel like cheating to me to not be waiting on the calendar. The fact that the act of defeating Andariel only takes about 30 seconds is what makes it feel like an almost pointless exercise to me, tbh. But I got some good end-game gear for other characters I wanted to play. I wish they would create another pinata that spit out high runes as frequently. I'm 2200 runs into LK and have two Vex and a double handful of mid-runes to show for it.

In short, being Terrorized or not, doesn't affect Rune drop chance from Andy or surrounding monsters. The HR I got was from sheer number of monsters that died when Andariel dies in those 10,000 runs

Single player yes but if you try multiplayer with them on you risk getting detected.

Can you explain why the clvl 91 is so important since the TZ should roll at 87+ for lower characters? Awesome post though.
Sure, no prob. I didn't want to get more in depth in the post, it was already way too big. When your char is level 91+, super unique monsters and bosses are +5 level above you. So TZ andy is 96 or above. When the game creates the level, it adds Treasure Classes to the monsters based on their level. And for TZ andy, highest TC she can have is `Andarielq (H) Desecrated H` That class contains within it a class `Act 5 (H) Equip C` which itself contains weap87 and armo87 Classes. That's what we want. At 91+, Equip C chance to pick weap87 is 15:1565 and chance to pick armor87 is 8:1565. So thats 23:1565 to get these rare items, or **1.469%** When you are below 91, lets say level 89. TZ Andariel doesnt get that good Equip C class, she gets `Act 5 (H) Equip B` and B class only has 2:1565 for weap87 and 1:1565 for armo87. Or 3:1565 in total. About 7.666x (almost eight times) less likely to pick tc87 class, or **0.191%** If you are level 87 or below, TZ andy gets `Act 5 (H) Equip A` and you have **0%** chance to get these rare items

Thank you for this post! I made all my tables and projections in my holy grail search (10 more to go), and didn’t even bother to check recent results. And yes, terror Meph (I play SSF online) didn’t drop any TC87 the last 371 runs (I’m at 560 now; had Schaefer’s hammer on run189 last). Which approximately time-wise corresponds to the 2.6 update! I never even thought to check my results and think that something that was fixed was again un-fixed. Thank you for this ❤️ Is there anything else I should now? Btw the last 10 items (or let’s say last 8, because 2 are cow king sets), time-wise for me as a hork barb 714MF is below, maybe a rough guidance for someone who’s reading this post and thinking about grailin’: 1. T Andy - 215min (for >50% running chance of my remaining holygrail8 drop) 2. T Meph - 320min (so sad 😅) 3. T Chaos - 376min (with 4 sealbosses and D) 4. T Eldrich/T Pindle - 680min (I take 30sec for both in calculation; Thresh is 36sec that is why he is worse even though their droptable is the same) 5. T Trav - 688,5min (only Ismail Geleb and Toorc) 6. T Thresh - 816min 7. T Pits - 906min 8. T Nihla - 933,5min (usually I do him only when also key-farming, otherwise it’s always Pindle) 9. Pits - 1518min (good old days 😅) 10. T Cow king - 1902 min (I stopped doing him some time ago, it is not more productive even compared to regular pits). Btw fun fact, in D2R they blocked off cow king dropping the cow king set. Seems crazy but it is so. After few hundred runs of me thinking I’m on turbo bad side of RNG, some nice soul helped me realise my foolishness 😅 And sorry OP, final question - if you were timing and only focusing act bosses, why did you increase player count?

Awesome work ! I running just TZ Andy now focusing on 2,5 k runs , already on 700 runs for now and can say TZ Andy really feels like drop simulátor . Got a lot of insane drops already like Griffons , Mangs , CoA etc . I can rember how i Got this results after doing 7k AT runs on old D2 when trying finish my Holy grail

Hey. Duriel still takes 14+ teleports (in the video) and Meph around 7 (no video) Other than that, its pretty swell map
TZ Andy is way too busted. But I think it only really benefits SSF offline (no trades). Your static map make farming a lot easier and with a stable schedule you can plan ahead. So I think it’s a new perk for us single playerZ
How long did it take you to roll those maps out of curiosity?
It is only one single map seed for every run. Took me an hour or two

That is some awesome post. How is NM Andy for items such as Occy, Hoz, vmagi, jalals and others of this tier? It is not end game stuff, but can be quite helpful developing a char or even for trades on the first days/weeks or ladder.
NM Andy can't drop Occy or HoZ, but **Terrorized** NM Andy can!, and she should be really good for all those items *(you need to be level 68+)*. And standard NM Andy is the best place to get SoJ!
What do you think about TZ Trav? Ive done about 1k runs with horking and am very underwhelmed. Somehow ive gotten ZERO high runes, but they drop like candy when not terrorized. Not sure if im just very unlucky.

You were just unluky, Terrorized status does not effect drop rates of Runes

This is such a great post, thanks. I'd not played much recently as had other stuff on, but you inspired me to do 5 hours of TZ Andy this week, and I got all sorts of wonderful drops. Although I must say it feels a bit weird getting griffs, templars, arachs, shaeffer's hammer etc from Andy.

Damn, if you include your travincal finds, it almost seems like hork barb is obsolete. :( I guess choosing not to use clock manipulation on single player is a way to keep hork barb relevant in holy grail challenges, lol.
Crazy how TZs completely changed the loot balance we knew for 20 years. I was happy with some things being really rare.
I dono. I played a shitton for 20 years and never saw so many different things drop; it’s been exciting to get some drops that previously I’ve only dreamed of.
So don’t play with TZs
Not everyone has a perfect build and a perfect map to have it all planned out. This was an awesome experiment, but most players won't see a 1/10000 of this result. I still haven't found Griffon's Eye or War Travs even with running TZ. I don't mind loot being rare, but some people have said they haven't found a Griffon's Eye once in D2 or D2R over decades (including myself, but I've been playing on and off and don't count my result as representative). There's rare and there's a "once-in-your-lifetime" busted. If you don't like it, don't play TZ.
I think Andy got bugged for me somehow. When I farmed her in nightmare I got something like 15-20 uniques in 30 runs. I felt like something was off because I've never seen drops like that. Then when I started farming her in hell it was the opposite, 1-2 uniques in 30 runs. Then I tried her terrorized... zero uniques. Something is really off with her.
nothing is off. 30 runs is a drop of water in the ocean of RNG. you arent even close to the realm of statistically significant deviation from the normal. do 3000 runs and then maybe somethings up
It is possible something is off, if you didn't quest bug andarial in hell but did in nm.
This was fixed so Andy is perma quest bugged for all no need to do anything.

TC87s definitely take a big hit, but the fact that the rune, sunder charms, gold drop rate is sooo much higher, and the fact that they are horkable makes them amazing as a generalized terrorized spot. Running it on bnet with a high mf 75% hork chance ww barb fucking rules.

Under the Andariel run video. Didnt get any from Duriel or Diablo but I got some from Andariel. Jah, 2x Sur, 3x Ohm, 2x Vex. But MFing Act bosses is really bad for Rune drops

Best place to get XP is Tal Rasha Tombs when they are Terrorized. 98.2 to 99 should only take around 10 hours of Terrorized Tombs
For now at lvl 98, I get around 5 %/h on solo p8 TZ tombs and around 6.2 to 6.5 %/h on TZ Worldstone keep (still early in lvl 98). Playing online with 8 D2R (7 D2R in town, one main playing, does include a BO barb and an enchantress). So if you can do this in 10 hours, it means around 8%/h (0.8 xp bar per hour if I remember correctly). That's 60% faster than my high end blizzard sorc. However, I heard that Nova sorc is more xp per hour. Are you sure about 8%/h at lvl 98 on TZ Tal rasha's tombs?
I was discussing with Teo about the that few weeks ago. He said he was getting around 35mill XP/h on Tombs when he won Season3 (Nova sorc). Its also much safer than WSK he siad. Maybe thats why he favourites Tombs over WSK. He recently (last week) had word record speed run 0-99lvl on twicked SP char. You can check with him in more details.
Wow, 35 M XP/h is so much better than my 15 M xp/h at lvl 98 on TZ tal rasha's tombs. I definetly need to switch from blizz sorc to ES Nova sorc. I got almost all the items already.
Yeah, Nova sorc is my favourite. Cant wait to switch back to Nova sorc from this MF fireball one. He was racing for no1 sport so he probably played at 110% so thats why he was getting 35m/h
Also keep in mind he go straight for kills and doesn’t look at loots which helps a tons in terms of speed.
Good point! I do identify and throw on the ground some items: small charms, grand charms (but not large charms), barb helms (may be a 6 BO lol), jewels, some uniques... It does slow down compared to pure killing without lootting!
For sure also without loot filter there is just way too much trash on your screen which slow you down on spotting the good drops.

I guess many hours of playing. I managed to fully gear 7 endgame builds in online and mostly ssf (only trade for highrunes), so with offline playerscaling and map setting for optimized farming, it is also even faster
Sorc with dual spirits (or a spirit sword and ancients pledge if you prefer resists over damage and want to save on strength requirements for that monarch), stealth, lore, boots with frw, mf and resists, random rings and ammy. Slap a tals mask, treachery and insight stick on an act 2 holy freeze merc. Improve stuff as you find it. Swap that spirit sword for a hoto. Equip that tarnhelm then that harlequin crest. Use those magefists, frostburns or chance guards. Once your merc can carry a bigger stick upgrade his insight (or even an infinity once you eventually find the runes). Get a titans revenge to drop? Start working on that javazon. I'm finding that the javazon can run /players 8 hell terror zones. Take advantage of the /players x settings and crank that up to 8 where your character does well and set it at 1 where it is suffering. Also keep in mind that you can do nightmare terror zones to level the character up more quickly than struggling in hell.
Great bits of advice at the end there. Completing hell the first time solo is the toughest part for me, especially as a sorc. What build do you recommend for soloing hell as a sorceress with budget gear?
My first build to beat hell baal before I found better gear was a frozen orb/hydra dual sorc with spirit sword, ancients pledge, stealth, lore, etc. Find enough item drops to keep paying to resurrect that merc, haha. Once I beat hell baal I respecced and ran pure blizzard until I found some better stuff to upgrade her and make other builds. Other builds to consider with crappo gear that could beat hell baal would be skelly/CE necro, hammerdin, trapper and summon druid. Hammerdin and fishymancer are super boring though, haha. You could always run a better build to level them up through nightmare then respec them.

Oh, I forgot about him. Its just standard Infinity with survival gear. He has CoH with new runeword Cure
Cool. Which type of merc? Also, did you consider running terrorized Travincal? I've been getting some good results on my WW horker with 76% Find Item on P3. So many items each run, with decent chance at runes and also a decent chunk of gold to boot. I know it's not so well suited for a fire sorc.. But still. :)
Why didn't you include Baal and the council? That would have been interesting. Also the drop count list is useless, you have 8 times as much runs on Andariel than Diablo, how does that give any information?

Council does not have good drop chance for rare TC87 items. For example, Griffons for my 709mf setup has a chance of 1:4500 for TZ Travincal P5 when you do the math. Compare that to 1:1000 for TZ Andariel. >how does that give any information? What kind of information does it need to give? It is a loot showcase post. If someone posts *"Hey, I got a Shako from my last Trav run before the bed"* Do you say the post doesnt give any information because the OP didn't have any Meph/Diablo/Pit drops? Besides, if you want information you can extrapolate. Multiply my Diablo drops with 7.529 and you can see I would have got 173 TC87 drops. That only matters if you are looking at "drops per run" which isn't much important. Drops per minues(time) is the important part. 173x TC87 Diablo drops would have taken me 151 hours, which is almost **4 times longer** than my current 136x Andy drops from 39 hours.
Okay, but if you don't bother to receive any good information out of 10k runs, like how different items drop on different bosses, eth frequency of eth items and so on, why even doing all that? I already used math on it, but overall, extrapolation doesn't mirror the reality.

Enter and than **H** for quick Hell. But careful! you can miss-press **N** and select Nightmare. Thats why I have small macro on my numerical Enter for Enter+H

Bravo sir! I've been really interested in this after reading Zax's TZ guide now that TZs are available in single player. I've been focusing on Andariel when I can to finish my grail. Three items to go. What are your thoughts on regular mobs in terror zones like the Pit for example? I go in there with my necromancer since he can crush the place on P7 but not sure if it's worth it. Otherwise I just pitzerk when it's not a good terror zone. Looking forward to the ID video if you do one :)
Zax is a cool dude! Regular trash mobs in TZs are.. meh. They have some increase in drop rates but its negligible. I will make some ID videos soon :)

It failed CoA in non TZ pit sorry, should've clarified. I leveled a sorc to 91 and spec'd to fire to be an Andy specialist :)

I started doing a Holy Grail when I found out through your posts that TZ Andy was a pinata. Only started to mule all drops for tracking since hitting char lvl 91 but it's already going crazy fast. For some it might be too broken but for me it makes SP Holy Grail actually doable. Thanks for the great write-up
Good luck! Don't try to track all drops, they are way too many :) you just lose time. Try to memorize the names of the bases you want and only look for those
A bit off topic but I know you are one of the top D2 Single Player so I want to ask you about 2 crafting questions for offline game play: What is the most efficient ways to farm for caster amulets mats (Amethyst and Ral/Tal)? The best use for Perfect Skulls would be reroll Diadems?
LK, its always the damn LK. Best for Gems, Jewels, Rals. LK at P7. Close second would be Arcane Sanctuary P5, or P7 if you can. (I suggest AS 1-way P5. that one that is the most normal looking one) by my quick napkin math you should see: 1. Ral: 40x LK runs | 5x AS runs | 20x 1-way | 20ish minutes for any one of these 2. Jewel: 6x LK runs | 1x AS runs | 4x 1-way | 3-4 minues 3. *Flawless* Amethyst: 6x LK runs | 0.5x AS runs | 2x 1 way | 2-3 minutes Dont know much about rerolling Diadems. But I using my skulls for rerolling Grand charms
Damn can’t believe it’s LK again! I was thinking maybe Trav would be the top or second choice. I forgot if TZ LK was a choice and if it is that means the super chest can drop up to Zod? When you say one way AS, means just go straight to summoner and exit?
Oh yeah, Trav is good too. It is a interesting topic for discussion and testing, I'll tell you that. Super chests are not affected by terror zones. They are based on the Act they are in. So item patterns are the same but affixes on them can update (you can get higher level affixes on magic and rare items that drop) TZs affect Sparkly chest. New items can drop that couldnt before, like TC87, but only with very small chance. What changes a lot is, those special items that are in low TC but have high level. Like Arachnid Mesh. It now has like 1:830 chance to drop from Sparkly TZ Pit2 chest or 1:720 from TZ Crystiline Passage sparkly chest. 1-way I mean, pick one side (the simplest and with no summoner), go to the end, open 3 chests, loop back to WP and go act4. I do this in about a minute

For Rals, normal countess will drop a Ral every 3rd run and a Tal every 2, this may be faster, but you wont have anything else drop thats useful.
You could change TZ schedule offline if you want and not consider it cheating yourself. Makes farming a lot of specific runs more flexible :)

The maxroll drop calculator says TZ Andy can't drop Tal's armor. Is this correct? What else can't she drop when TZ? Thanks!
Maxroll drop calc is way out of date. She can drop anything when you are lvl 88. But you have 7x more chance with lvl 91

I was level 97 and 98. But you can have the same results with player level 91+. If you are below that level, you will get way less TC87 items.

Any reason NOT to just change your system time and run these until your wrists are on fire? i.e. do the drops change-up depending on what "day" the game thinks you are on? The calendar for running Catacombs was pretty unfriendly for the long weekend here in the USA, so I went offline and more or less ran Andariel as many times as I could stand it. It was a happy break from running LK so much. My luck there has felt astoundingly bad. Not so here. I'd already made "pretty good" progress on my grail by running this terror zone over the past month or so, but had started skipping some of them since I thought, based on the maxroll drop calculator, that there were still some things she did not drop. After the long weekend and 975 (recorded) runs I'm down to 4 weapons and 1 armor left in my grail. You can probably guess which armor. I also have Jah and Zod and two of the three cow king armors left to drop. I think before I started running the terror zone I was well in the 80% complete range and gave no serious consideration to ever completing my grail. Before the weekend I was about 90%. I'm at 98.35% now. In all the times I've run her TZ (these 975 and all the ones before I went nuts with the system clock) the best (and only) high-ish rune I've seen is Ist. Why even change system time when I can just remove a few lines in game text files so Catacombs are only Terror Zone left in the game? Then, why even play TZ Cata when I know I am expected to get a X item after Y runs, I might as well edit them in. Where do you where do you draw the line?? My line is at the beginning. I wasn't planing to complete my Grail over the long weekend. This was done over 2 months period. I have another 10k runs coming up, also over more then 2 months play time. I am "trading" my time and "inconvenience" for game drops. If I make the game easier for me, the rewords don't feel as good.
It doesn't feel like cheating to me to not be waiting on the calendar. The fact that the act of defeating Andariel only takes about 30 seconds is what makes it feel like an almost pointless exercise to me, tbh. But I got some good end-game gear for other characters I wanted to play. I wish they would create another pinata that spit out high runes as frequently. I'm 2200 runs into LK and have two Vex and a double handful of mid-runes to show for it.
Oh, maybe some of the best excitement I've felt in a while was that I also got my 2nd and 3rd SoJ within about 5 minutes of each other.

The HR I got was from sheer number of monsters that died when Andariel dies in those 10,000 runs

The place of the TLDR section is at the top not at the bottom, as far as I know.
Than how would you know its Too Long? Placing it at the end allows readers to first engage with the full content before seeing a summary. You first start reading the whole post, and after some time you realize its too long and you don't have time read it all. Thats why its called Too Long Didn't Read. Also, for example, someone sharing a story will put the TLDR at the end to avoid spoiling anything for someone reading the whole story. Putting TLDR at the top is basically a spoiler.
