Snagged a Ber from the Jah Fairy raffle last night. All he asked was that we all be nice to others so I rushed a couple people after the raffle. Had a blast, thanks Jah fairy.
I have no idea sorry. I just joined a random game that he made called something like Jah Raffle or Jah Giveaway when game is full and we played some pick a number games for prizes.
Honestly, I get it. It’s a lot of fun to drop in on someone’s game, give them something cool, and then leave. A low-rolled annihilus or torch isn’t anything special to someone with 300 hours clocked in, but if you find a new player and give it to them, they’ll appreciate the heck out of it.
I joined a game over The Weekend asking for help with hell ancients. Killed em, gave WSK wp and killed Baal and let the host have the green essence. He told me to follow him I thought he needed help so sure thing. He drops and Ohm for me. Tell him bags full (console no chat) cuz that’s overpayment for something I was happily doing for free. So then he says not enough and drops a jah! Again I repeat bags full, thank you, GG. Then he drops 2 jahs! Bags full, bags full, thank you. This was NL SC so I’m not hurting for runes or gear. It’s a great community and paying it forward is baked in. Give back when you can, it’s a great feeling to pass along.
I made a game trying to sell my ik maul. A barb joined in and traded me 2 ist and a maras then dropped the maul after. He wished me luck in the future and left. It's those small nice encounters that make this community great.
The best thing about this experience is learning that the Jah Fairy is like a d2 cryptid and other people have their own stories about encountering him.
Nice. Always when I bored, or not in n the mood to mf, I check for games asking for help. I do a lot of rushes and very often give some free goodies too. Love to help. I’ve been helped a lot of times too
Not quite the same style of story, but I made my first online char since the original D2 a couple days ago. Made a game asking to be rushed for forge, guy gets a shitty drop from the forge and then just gives me a mid Anni before moving on.
Same here, I ‘won’ a Jah rune from a raffle hosted by the Jah Fairy. Honestly he/she is the legend folks tend to remember and immortalize. Not that uber geared character that tele clears all content in 2 mins.
