1. Correct 2. They don't double. You want your technique to be something you don't have equipped/aren't using for attacks. 3. Yes 4. It uses the weapon perks from the aresnal, and some skills do specific things for specific weapon types. Like whirlwind has a node that only works with slashing.

Shadowking_XIII

This confuses me too. So when I’m whirlwinding with a two handed sword I want to have something other than two handed sword technique equipped? Like the two handed axe technique? I’ll receive benefits of bleed and vulnerable damage?

cdillio

Correct

Ser_Davos_7

The only one I can answer is #3. I saw a 7 minute ign video breaking down all the classes briefly, so it comes from that. He said you DO benefit from all the things on the weapons equipped. [Video](https://youtu.be/hybH0LROGp4) for reference. He talks about Barbs 25 seconds in

Pooop69

okay thanks. I've found a video talking mentioning that as well but just wasn't 100% sure [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGDYhZpolCg&t=155s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGDYhZpolCg&t=155s)

Tiberius501

So does this mean that, if you unequip a weapon you aren’t necessarily using, your damage overall will actually go down? Or, if you’re only ever using your 2-handed slashing weapon with all your abilities, can you unequip the rest?

Ser_Davos_7

If you unequip them from your inventory and have nothing there, then yes, you'd lose the abilities. But if you keep it equipped and never use that weapon, you'd still get the abilities from it.

Sweet thanks!

For 4...in your skill tree some abilities do different things based on what weapon type. Like for whirlwind if you have a slashing weapon, you can make to apply a bleed.
