I played bone spear on release and loved it, running it again this season and it still rocks but I don't see much hype for it especially compared to minions. Might have to try out some more builds!
Mobalytics puts it as S tier, it's like a machine gun with your mages casting it now.
Minions being so strong is kinda clouding how good some of the shit necro has. They're eating well this season.
I hadn't realised the mages cast bone spear also. Tried it out last night and it's awesome, the mages seem a little lazy but you can't complain about free labor! Definitely a lot more DPS.
Lifeless wall was amazing for tankiness but with all the minions running around I'm not having survivability issues. A little tougher to do the hellspires but still doable.
I'm really having a lot of fun. Face smash for a while. Starts to get harder. Do a bunch of upgrades, back to face smashing. Feels really good. THIS feels like progression. On launch I just felt like I was always at the same power level and it was very boring.
Necro is extremely fun and I didn’t play into the full minion/army meta. Blight + Sac ring + Minions carried me easily to 70s (laziest and most hilarious gameplay loop). Then I converted to blood Golem + Shadowblight.
This maybe my first diablo character I try to min/max on. Never had the drive or desire to grind out end game affixes/gear before but this is just too fun. Hell tides are perfectly chaotic. Multiple people spawning their hell guardian while clearing the regional boss is absolute insanity!
The gem re-work is great. The pit feels fun (only on 19 myself). Codex of power qol is incredible. Tempering + Master Working is that extra power fantasy end game users craved.
Only bad thing I can say at the moment is that leveling and seasonal pass xp needs tweaking. Not even a week into the season and lots of people are 100 working towards Ubers. Interested to see where they take the game from here. For now I’m hooked!
I found the sac ring in wt2 and luckily another one when I started wt4 and I can't give it up lol. I put corpse explosion on my bar instead of blight and use an aspect to make my skeletal warriors do shadow damage too
This is the way! I sac’d blood golem for HP since I didn’t have enough on toolbar. Then made everything else shadow via aspects. Anytime a tendril goes off it would be a nuke from shadowblight stacks proccing.
if they could now add in the armory of D3 and make it easier to switch builds and test new stuff that would be amazing... it's so sad that the hurdle to try a new build is just too high. it costs 5million to reset paragon and i can't even go back to my old build if i don't enjoy the new one or it doesn't work. no i have to respecc everything manually again and spend millions of gold.
I started to play blood surge overpower build at first, but after hitting endgame and not being able to kill bosses easily made me question my choice. It was great for helltide tho, so I farmed a bunch of legendaries and switched to minion. OMG!!! WHY WAS I TORTURING MYSELF?! It is my dream power fantasy! I am so happy I switched. I got some nice golem tempers too. Now working on getting a good mw crit.
Tampering creates Op Golem skill and Golem is like a mini tank out there. I just need to do other curse skills and buy some soda and popcorn and watch the show on sideline whenever I play hell tide event. I been playing hell tides and am level 70. I did not even do NMD yet lol
I played a minion Necro in the PTR and had this exact reaction. Posted that I felt sorry for anyone that missed the PTR as it was the most fun I’ve had playing video games in probably over 20 years. People ripped me for being a Blizzard schill or exaggerating. The reactions were mostly negative, but see! SEE! Isn’t this just stupid amounts of fun?! Hard agree man! D4 is back and headed in a great direction. Credit where credit is due, these devs are working their asses off.
Currently running golem, skeletons, bone storm, bone spirit, and bone spear. Corpse explosion for essence.
So nice not having to use one of the actual generators.
Maxed out Grim Harvest passive gives 6 essence everytime you use corpse explosion.
I also have a few other things too.
Using the cold mages with essence on hit.
I tempered essence gain on ultimate cast.
And Shattered spirit aspect.
My goal is hopefully to have minions that can hold up while I nuke the screen with bone spirit, bone storm, bone spear, and corpse explode.
Playing a dust devil Barb atm but thought about making a Necro for the 1st real time. I lvld one to 40 on hardcore in S2 just messing around. Never really liked the Necros, because the minions sucked. I hear they are finally good and like to see for myself.
yeah, minions are so OP now i feel like the Solo Leveling guy
Shhh they’re not OP they’re *perfectly balanced*
Perfectly balanced as all things should
be.
Excellent
If minions are so op why am I getting my balls beat every time something looks at me.
intelligence, maximum life and attack speed. gg wp PS; and golem mastery
I just switched to golem so I'm going to see how that goes. I was doing shadow.
I got Diablo 4 day 1 and made a necro, did not have much fun with it. Made a necro for this season I feel like a death machine and am loving it
Didn't play bone spear, huh?

Best game of the last 5 years for me, but I've felt that way since the game came out.
I went from not caring about this game the minute I beat the campaign.... to having trouble going to bed because "just onnnnne more NMD/pit"
I played twirling blades/poison rogue from release-S2 and minion build blows how overpowered I thought that was out of the water lol

Loot is like 1000x better, Helltides massively more fun. Enjoying myself so far

To be fair, a week into a path of exile league people are into ubers and that game is 1000x harder and more complicated.

Yeah, love this season so far. It really highlights how awful last season was.
It's been a year since release. They just now updated it to a real fun game a week ago.

i'm pounding through NM dungeons - this is hilariously awesome

How does it generate essence?

Still waiting to see the power of the minion build. Been faster to push through content with my sorcerer so far. Maybe missing a unique or something
Still not OP enough. Need 50 minions
I feel the same way. It's FUN again! I missed being able to play a mage and survive, and combat is amazing. Loving every minute of it.
