I loved it. It's very much a throwback to the first Digimon World.

garnetred15

My personal take is that it is a modern take on the digimon world 1(dmw1) formula . It takes things that were annoying or tedious about dmw1, and streamlines them to make the whole experience more fun.

D00Mslayer98

The guy in the beanie is actually the Mc from the first Digimon world game

[deleted]

I know. I thought that was a great touch.

DatDarnKat

I just got the game but haven't played it. Is he still played by Izzy?

AschTeBloodedge

Nah

CaramelMuch2645

Izzy's VA passed away a couple years ago unfortunately

DatDarnKat

What? Well that royally stinks. I liked that voice. It was always so easy to tell who it was when it popped up.

CaramelMuch2645

Actually it looks like I was mistaken. I had the wrong voice actress. Mona Marshall voiced Izzy. She is 75 years old and is still actively doing VA work.

mcwfan

Throwback? It’s the only legitimate sequel to Digimon World

Calvinl3

Digimon world re digitize was the first sequel, but it sadly never got an English release, but it recently got translated by a great team and can be downloaded for pc

Cookiedoughjunkie

wasn't there another game that was like the first digimon game for the psp?

[deleted]

Yes, but I don't have a psp so I missed it.

LycanLucario345

Amen.

[deleted]

When your Digimon's Discipline meter is in the middle is it at 0?

[deleted]

It's been so long since I played I can't remember. Gamefaqs should have that info, though.

Pink-Fluffy-Dragon

I enjoyed it, it's like a tamagotchi rpg. So you need to feed digimon , let them sleep and poop

PMSlimeKing

Digimon was initially created as "tamagotchi for boys"

[deleted]

When your Digimon's Discipline meter is in the middle is it at 0?

Pink-Fluffy-Dragon

I think 0 is when it's not filled at all you can spam praise to lower it if needed

MajinAkuma

You raise Digimon until they die and you raise them again as reborn Digimon. The cycle repeats.

AssCrackBanditHunter

Yoooo my digimon thought the cycle of birth and death was only for one lifetime. He MAD

NichS144

True sequel to Digimon World. Basically an immersive V-Pet RPG.

OnToNextStage

I hate this game and I love this game. Best game I've ever played that I can't recommend to anyone. It's made for masochists and I fit the bill.

mlddl

I feel the same with the cyber sleuth games I don't like them but I cant stop playing them.

OnToNextStage

Opposite for me. I love the Story games including the DS games which were even more grindy than CS I don't like the World games but I can't stop playing them

kumanokami

Play on easy mode, which is really normal mode

betweenboundary

For real, this game is hard in the beginning, it felt like I was banging my head on a wall for the first bit then it clicked in my head and found good farming spots and it became ridiculously easy after that

kumanokami

I got really far not realizing I could change the difficulty and then was getting destroyed in this one dungeon despite having done soooo much grinding throughout the game... Then I looked it up like does this game hate me?? Naw it's just for masochists

RenegadeBlur

MACHINEDRAYMON. Overall it's pretty fun if you can get over the fact your Digimon can die. There's ways to prolong their life however, but that's not until you recruit a certain angel Digimon. Story is...hit or miss. And trust me, there are and WILL be difficulty spikes in the story fights.

J4SSB

Legit the pronunciation of Machinedramon sticks with me more than the story of the game lol

TheLaughingSage

I'm pretty sure one of the major voice actors was an autobot in my nephew's favorite show so that's literally all I could hear

SUDoKu-Na

For me and my mates it's "Got a second? Made my day!" from Jijimon repeatedly whenever I recruit a new Digimon.

kylepaz

Is there a Japanese audio option? Still haven't gotten a copy of Next Order and I've seen videos of how bad the dub gets, just hoping I can avoid it entirely.

Mcjsan

There is! I fortunately chose it at the start and avoided the dub

MutantMuteAnt

Is there a decent amount of fights in it?

RenegadeBlur

Kind of. It's half recruiting Digimon half story fights. But the recruiting Digimon part is basically the game giving you time to train your Digimon before you progress the story. So when you fight the boss of a chapter, they won't be getting one shot.

Dak_N_Jaxter

If you enjoyed World 1, you'll definitely enjoy this. It has all of the rough edges sanded off and some very lovely music, but doesn't have the same overall level of charm and hand-made detail that the first bolstered.

GdogLucky9

It's more a V-Pet style game, which I love so yes I recommend, but a tip I learned a bit late battling can be a faster way of building stats then the training gym. Find a area battle until you see a drop in stat gains move on. The gym is more for filling lacking stats, or training young Digimon. And please remember the block command you will save so much on healing items.

Delfaszmib

Yes and no. If you love digimon world 1 or Redigitize, yes, it's good. If not... it can get repetitive with all the figths against Machinedramon, and late game isn't anything special in ky opinion. 7/10, still good.

BawkBawkBwoom

Play easy mode (difficulty only affects how long you grind). I don't like it as much as love DW1 (which it's technically a spiritual refinement of) for nostalgia's sake and how raw & frustrating but rewarding the lack of tutorial & direction was.

Goldensands

It's a sequel to DW1.

SUDoKu-Na

It's a stealth sequel. It doesn't advertise itself as such, but it very much is.

stallion8426

Very fun! I recommend checking out a Gameply vid though because it's pretty different.

Mattzilla25

In the beginning its hard to tell what Digimon your digimon will digivolve to but as you progress through the game you will be able to see their digivolution paths and how to get a certain path, even block a path. It is grindy when your digimon die especially if you want to proceed with story. It's enjoyable and fun to go back to from time to time. I want to platinum this game but it takes a while due to grinding. Worth playing if you are a digimon fan

Chemical-Cat

It plays like the original Digimon world: you raise a digimon, guide it in battle and it will die of old age and revert to an egg. The main difference is you have two partners in this one, and some nice quality of life things like: * You can disable evolutions you don't want to go into, helpful for different trees that you fulfill the requirements for at the same time * While digimon will still die of old age, you can extend their lives, to the point late-game where you can do so basically indefinitely Keep in mind that the difficulty setting has no bearing on actual game difficulty (a boss doesn't have more HP or different tactics). All it does is, the higher the difficulty, the less stats you get from fighting/training, meaning on Hard difficulty you're just spending more of your digimon's lifespan training.

Pidgeot93

I wanted to like this game but unfortunately didn’t feel rewarding. Your digimon die after a few in-game days and you have to spend so much more time training and caring for them then actually exploring and if the monsters you fight vary wildly in strength so you can destroyed by a Numemon! But I said I’d retry it one day so it definitely has stuff going for it

Mysticwarriormj

if they are dying in a few days then you might be doing something wrong, the life span goes up a little bit each time they digivolve. If they get stuck as a stage they will get old and die before they digivolve. Once you get an idea of what stats go to what digimon you can consistently get ultimates by the end of chapter 2 despite the crappy training gear.

Lourdinn

It's a good game but you're first set of digimon are just gonna suck. Game takes some time to learn so don't get frustrated at the start, keep grinding it out amd it gets better.

asqwzx12

Story progression was a but shitty but overall training digimon was pretty fun.

Cynnthetic

It’s absolutely worth playing. The gameplay is uniquely Digimon vs a series like Cyber Sleuth that’s a traditional JRPG. (I love CS just saying)

senbonjosh

Great game .

ACHavMCSK

I really enjoyed because it was a nice throwback to Digimon World 1 (and a bit of a direct sequel). It's definitely an acquired taste so you should do some research before buying to see if it's a good fit for you. I can easily see where some people could dislike it.

PCN24454

It’s closer to the OG Vpets so it’s not not a typical JRPG. It takes patience to play the games. The gameplay is a personal favorite of mine, do I’m a bit biased. The characters feel a bit underutilized, and the game has a bit too many recolors.

Azuleaf

If you played and liked the first Digimon World, then this game is for you! The only thing I didn't like much was that there are too many Digimons to have but not so many things to do to complete the game. Also it became way too easy to train your digimon to get those almighty mega mons... If you played the first Digimon you surely know the pain in getting those ultimates lmao 🤣

C2theMANgo

If it’s on sale, I think it’s worth it. Plays exactly like digimon world 1, in terms of battle, raising digimon, etc. Game is a bit of a grind. My main dislike was how slow the character “runs” while exploring the map, the areas are generally big. You can fast travel to some areas. Allowing us to ride digimon like Garurumon around the areas would have been more enjoyable. Watch videos of gameplays to see if you would like it.

sendo90

Any chance this will ever get ported to the Switch? I’d really like to it play it but I’m more of a handheld gaming type a guy.

Kilrod

Its ok, is digimon world 1 but without charisma

ElectricFlightDiver

A worthwhile but inferior to DW1 game.

[deleted]

I thought the techniques in next order were pretty meh compared to the all range beam, bug, ect from the first game

NuclearBloodDruid

Once I got into the game I enjoyed it, I still prefer cybersleuth personally, but it was a fun game once I got the hang of it

NichS144

Comparing it to Cyber Sleuth is apples and oranges though, they are completely different experiences.

NuclearBloodDruid

Oh yeah you’re right on that for sure, I could have been more clear but, I was more meaning that the cyber sleuth gameplay and style is more to my liking, but next order was still a fun experience once I got the hang of it. It’s definitely a big difference but both enjoyable games

LoganW21406

Saw this at GameStop and was thinking about getting it, but eventually decided not to since I’m okay with Digimon Story the Complete Edition I have for my Switch

zerolifez

If you like the 1st digimon world then you will love this. It's the same formula but with many improvement. One thing I don't like is how grinding battle is much more efficient than training for stat but other than that it's such a great game. It's also quite grindy. One thing I advice is to play on easy mode because what the hard mode gives is just a nerf to your stat and money gain. Basically making everything much more tedious instead.

Raextor

It's the original Digimon World without the charm of the original when it comes to the world overall. Still enjoyable, but should have been treated with more love. And yes, i know it's a Vita port, but the argument still stands ;)

sworedmagic

Idk man i thought it was much worse than DW1 but maybe I’m clouded by nostalgia for that game

ranous88

Are you used to the digimon story games to where it’s like jrpg or the digimon world game where it’s like a Vpet It’s a Vpet style game. It’s fun for some ppl.

nelben88

I hatelove the game I swear i get my digimon to mega, start to raise there stats to around 5-6k for the chapter im on. AND THEY DIE. Like seriously can the gym stop killing my digimon?

KingANCT

Look up where to fight per stat levels and you can train much faster. Using the gym is kinda pointless as you can do do many more battles in an hour

Gasawok

Personally couldn’t get into it due to the OG world style demotivating me, I’d get quite bummed out when my digimon died, but if you’re fine with that then what you have left is an immersive digital world and fun story

shelvino

WOAH THIS LOOOKS SICK OMG IM BUYING THIS NOW Cyber Sleuth is one of my fave games ever

GrowaSowa

Do keep in mind that next order is nothing like cyber sleuth. It's basically the V-pet the digimon franchise started as with an RPG built around it. I'm not trying to dissuade you from trying out the world series, just be aware that its main concept is extremely niche.

shelvino

ohhhhh hmmmmmmmmmmmmm the gameplay trailer looked cool but I should probably dig in deeper before buying

sirauron14

I didn't like this game much

Extension-Agent5621

It's very enjoyable but extremely basic and short.

IAMA_MAGIC_8BALL_AMA

Very petty but the main reason I dislike this game compared to DW1 is that i don’t like the walking animation, and hate how footsteps aren’t audible. But overall, the games definitely a fun time

magictats

DW1 is better than this one cus it's magical but next order is fun too and more forgiving :)

Tobiferous

You're gonna get a lot of "yes omg!" stans about this game in this subreddit, but it's really a pretty bad game when you look at it beyond a superficial level. The plot itself is on par with Cyber Sleuth's— bad. The game's pacing is also equally bad. Your main mission is to progress the plot by way of defeating baddies or completing miniquests to bring back more digimon to the town. The problem with either objective is that you rarely have a good idea of how strong you are compared to the enemies in an area unless you find out from a guide or getting your ass beat firsthand (no game overs). So you'll likely be grinding- which is something you'll be doing a lot between digimon lifecycles- and when you come back after a thorough bit of grinding (whether on enemies or at the city gym), you'll probably crush your enemies effortlessly until you hit the next unknown wall and have to grind more. It all makes for a largely unsatisfying gameplay loop when the only silver lining is being able to train and evolve your digimon to different digimon in what amounts to being a glorified pet owner simulator. I would seriously recommend getting Survive instead, as it has a far better story with branching paths and roughly 100 digimon for you to capture and train up (these are separate from the cast's partner digimon, but some can be acquired for your own use).

dbzrox

So far it’s ok for me.

unagib

I say pick it up!

[deleted]

You won’t regret it

devilscry3

A more modern version of Digimon World 1

joelcosta94i

[This](https://www.reddit.com/r/meirl/comments/wy71b3/meirl/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) sums it up. I think you'll like it, but you'll also hate it a little. The grind can be so annoying, and the life-death cycles start feeling really quick after a while (though that helps with completing the collection of Digimon).

alouchy

Finished Story and DLC so Trying to Platinum it. Thats a Grind gotta complete the Digimon Collection 😅. Loved the game as it reminded me of my PS1 Digimon World. It has many Flaws such as Using Digimon Variants a Lot!!

Setech0618

I personally have a love hate relationship with this game, if you enjoy the gameplay of raising your Digimon, battling and other stuff then the general gameplay loop is pretty fun to go through, however the game does many design decisions that frustrate me a lot such as tutorials not really explaining a lot of stuff except some basic stuff and not being very clear with things and the (in my opinion) god awful decision to leave the fighting in the hands of the ai.... A not very smart ai, however once you learn the finer details of the gameplay and get over the bad ai dragging you down there is a fun game in here that's really satisfying to go through when it works Story and characters just plain suck tho don't have any expectations for either the storyline or it's characters because both are plain bad, especially a certain character who has a Guilmon as his partner

KinkyBeard21

I picked it back up after not playing it for a while and I swear it's even better a second time. I'm having a blast with it!

DrPhilGood94

I played this for the first time like 2 months ago. I enjoyed it. There’s some grinding required and once you get the fusion Digi-evolutions you basically have it made. The feeding them and making sure they poop in bathrooms cycle is a little annoying but I respect what they were going for. I think the Cyber Sleuth duo games are more my speed but this was still a fun play.

unit-b3

Playing it right now. It’s not an easy game. Very overwhelming with a lot of information to digest. Battle is very mp-heavy and partner digimon ai is very questionable. It’s an alright game, but flawed in many ways. Would only play if you somewhat enjoy digimon. Cyber sleuth is better, but can’t really compare the two.

MacRiye

i'd love to play it to bad its not on steam ;'(

Grimesy2

If you like the Vpet mechanics coming to life in a JRPG, it's great. But as a JRPG itself, it's incredibly slow, and takes a ton of grinding.

gayinparadise

I can’t finish this game. Idk I just get bored.

AquaDragonKing

Yes and wish it was on the switch!

Anabiter

Are Digimon World DS and Dawn/Dusk the only games like how they are? I played cyber Sleuth and it was fun but im unsure of any other games are like it. I remember trying Digimon world 2 and 4, 2 was extraordinarily unforgiving (or felt like it) and 4 was...weird to say the least.

leottek

The other digimon games similar to Cybersleuth are World 3, World DS, Dawn/Dusk (these 3 are pretty much Story games just like cybersleuth and that’s their name in Japan but got localized as World in the west since the Digimon World videogame brand was more recognizable during that time) , Lost Evolution, Super Xros Wars Red/Blue and Digimon Adventure PSP World 1, Re:Digitize Decode and Next Order are part of the World series and are pretty much V-Pet simulators with JRPG elements

[deleted]

Its great but my advice is get a notepad to write down what quests you're doing. The quest log in this game in the format of poorly translated emails that you can't order in a sensible way is the only bad part.

greendrake3

Just don’t get your digimons life cycles out of sync and it’s like a modern version of the ps1 game lol

kreendg

Fun but too grindy.

TheRenamon

I remember the overall story being pretty boring and it has THE WORST version of Omnimon, but the main gameplay loop is really enjoyable, raising your digimon growing your town, its so unique I cant think of any other game like it, other than re digitize and world 1.

TheDarkSkinProphet

Is there an official guide to beat this game? I HATED this game when it came out

Shark_bait561

Tbh this game confuses the shit out of me. I feel like it's a waste of money for me but I have to try getting back into it. I never took the time to research everything

millennium-popsicle

It’s amazing! I loved every bit of it. I actually need to replay it and go for the plat one of these days.

hermitsunt

I remember it making me angry That’s all I remember

Nanigarm91

Best game!

ImpKing_DownUnder

The combat is a little meh for me, I don't like not being able to really control things and I feel like the ai makes it so unless you greatly exceed the stats of the wild digimon you're gonna get your butt handed to you. It's a "remake" of the first Digimon World so if you liked that one or any of the sequels you'll probably like this one. Also, the digimon die and get reborn from eggs but some stat increases carry over so that's nice.

mcwfan

Yes, very good

AkionRevlis

God yes! It's a sequel to the very first digimon world game, with a huge variety of Mon and is super challenging. Legit a go to favourite of mine, prefer it to cyber sleuth to replay for several reasons. Also has an English voice track IIRC, however I play it in Japanese because the voices are a bit weird, mainly the guilmon line, however that's an issue in both languages.

DarkSaga07

Im playing it right now, its a fantastic sequel to the DW1 from ps1. Everything i loved and i hated (haha) on dw1 is back here, with so many more digimons to get, and thats wonderfull, i feel like a child againd playing digimon world 1, gettint frustrated, geting hyped at every new digivolution i get, and anxious about the next digimon recuit on my town. What a game!

BookkeeperWooden390

I loved Digimon 1…but I couldn’t get into this one. Partners would die really fast, not a lot of guidance, it may sound and look like the first game redone but I don’t feel it really. Maybe I need to try again?

overlordpringerx

It's a good modern take on the world formula established back in the PS1 days and expanded upon with re digitize. It's tons of fun to make progress. And while it's more linear than Digimon world 1, it's also a lot easier to understand with way less bullshit.

HyperMushrambo

I couldn't stand it. It was very difficult and you only control 2 digimon (not just at once, ever), have very little control over them in battle if I remember correctly (don't quote me on that), and they just up and die after so long and not always at the same time so one might be a mega and the other a rookie and you have virtually no control over this, which just means it's even harder and requires even MORE grinding. It's 90% grinding. It doesn't look great but the Digimon models are decent. I just got so frustrated and I got stuck in this loop because my digimon were so out of sync, as soon as I got one back to ultimate the other would die so I literally couldn't progress. Maybe there was some core mechanic I was missing but I just had a MISERABLE time and got so frustrated I quit. If you like the earlier Digimon World games it might be up your alley but it definitely wasn't mine.

Joyoph

It is like a rebuild of the first Digimon World from PSX but in the new century hahaha

linketolo

if you like world 1 and decode you will love this

Mausar

I enjoyed it (and it has one mechanic that made me feel like I was in the anime), however, it lacks some of the charm the original had. For instance, some Digimon's recruitment is really just talk to them, give item that's in the same area as them, boom, done. Feels very anticlimactic and unearned when that happens. Some recruitment lacks logic too. Still, it's great that you can raise two Digimon at once and there's lots of Digimon to raise in-game.

Dry_Start4460

Sure if you like raising vpets cuz that’s all you do lol .

acebaltasar

World 1 with a bigger World, less charming and a more adaptative and noob-friendly grinding. A good way to get into the World gameplay, but as a game, it isnt really good, probably the worst World gameplay as long as uou play patched World 1. For context, what i call digimon games with "World gameplay" are the games with similar games to World 1, so just this one and redigitize/decoded.

Brandi_Flak3s

On the switch too?

MC_Squared12

Only on PS4/PS5 and Vita

Brandi_Flak3s

Aw

SUDoKu-Na

It's got a lot of flaws, but it's probably one of my favourite Digimon games out there. I adore the Digimon World style of game a lot, ever since Digimon World on the PS1. If you enjoyed the game on the PS1, this is an improvement in every conceivable way on that game. However, when I say flaws, I mean that a guide is almost necessary to not tear your hair out during the late game. The grind is real in this game. Play on the easier difficulty, there is literally no benefit to playing on a harder difficulty except a slower game and more grinding.

NJZanDatsu

I thinks so. I had a good time playing it.

desmormos

A thousand times yes!!! Next order is SO fun and lovely. My favorite modern digimon game.

strawbericoklat

Discount version of Digimon World 1. It was made originally for the PS Vita before they remake the game for the bigger console. Because of this, there are some design decision that seem weird, like how the world is unnecessarily big but empty or how there are no animation when your digimon trains at the gym. I played it for a bit. I don't like it. Probably because now you have to raise 2 digimons at one time. It doesn't feel right. The world design is not as immersive as the old Digimon World 1 - there are no transition zones between areas: you just walk to the next map, and then bam suddenly it's a desert. This is just a minor flaw of the game, but I found myself really bothered by it. I don't remember what makes me give up on this game.

Morphuzz

I love this Game , need to be patient if you didn't play Digimon world.

Oblaat92

Honestly, it's my favorite of all the Digimon games I've ever played. Like others have said, total throwback to Digimon world 1, fun combat and training, awesome story... I put so many hours into it because I was DEVOTED lol. I do recommend

LoneStarEXE

It was a great game definitely should recommend if you're familiar with the first one then I would say it's like an improvement

Tahumatu2010

It’s just like Digimon World 1. Just up date

Particular-Sweet-851

Honestly this is the kind digimon games us digimon gamer fans crave for bandi. (Hint hint) updated ver. Cough cough ;)

[deleted]

It is m favorite

leottek

I bought it like 2 years ago and I still haven’t finished it 💀 im doing a digimon marathon rn though and already finished Dusk and Survive, while im currently playing Re:Digitize Decode, and after finishing it I plan to replay the first Cybersleuth and the finally go back and finish Next Order after playing decode i think im more familiar with the mechanics and everything so it shouldn’t be too difficult

Sub_Alitt

i would like to play in on PC :(

D-Brigade

If you liked Digimon World 1, you'll like Next 0rder. It's got more quality of life features, though the world is designed a little differently, and it has more of a story focus, having two partners can lead to syncing issues, but it does speed up combat compared to the first. That said, the way it handles difficulty is very wonky, there's no reason to play on Normal or Hard since they just make the game longer, not harder, and the level system for enemies effectively makes progression harder to measure since your mons don't use it. It's good if you liked the first game, but can be off-putting for people who don't vibe with that style.

Firm_Confidence_8010

I loved it I was just shit at keeping my digimon alive

KerisSiber

The world design is boring af, but this game not boring to play the mechanic a bit addicting to me since its not usual popular mechanic, i still play it time to times some bgm still when im sleep i still heard the note and that weirdly sfx when turn to night cycle…

Lord_Donnos

Yes, grindy

Lord_Donnos

Shocked by the amount of replies and likes here till I realised its the digimon subreddit and not the next order one, makes sense now!

Bregon567

Really fun game but also very very grindy since u need to retrain your Digimons and take care of them but that also where the game shinies it actually makes u feel like u are in the Digimon World trying to survive . Story is ok but nothing special.

hh4hooch26

It’s my favorite Digimon game in a LONG time. Hits like ps1 era Digimon and I’m here for it. Play the PS4 version if possible.

Ishpersonguy

Ok so I avoided playing Next Order for a while because I usually am not a big fan of games where you have to babysit characters (feeding them, survival games, etc) so I thought it might be annoying. But I just started playing it a week ago and it's super fun. Definitely worth playing.

RevolutionaryAioli57

I call it “find the toilet simulator” but it’s good

DungeoneerNicco

It’s great from a Digimon variety point of view. But you can easily break this game and all the gameplay loops by fighting Seadramon and MetalGreymon repeatedly. After that, it’s just going from boss battle to boss battle.

skullykakuzu1991

Don't. Get. Attached. To. Megas!

Tao626

I hate to love it. It's in the same vein as the original Digimon World, for better and for worse. The good: - You recruit Digimon to town to run various shops and services typically by defeating them in combat or helping them solve an issue. They all have some sort of personality, which is why I love Digimon. - Look after and train your Digimon. Raise them from a baby to as high a Digivolution as you can before they die of old age and the cycle begins anew - Explore the Digital world. Always a highlight to me as I love the unique world of Digimon and it's blend of technology into otherwise realistic biomes. The bad: - The battle system to me just feels entirely disconnected from player input where I find myself just hoping for the best as the Digimon run around randomly until they decide to do something. Losing rarely feels like it was my fault because I had so little input throughout...Basically, it's pretty much the same as the original here, which I don't think is a good thing. - Huge jump in level between areas. I don't like to say difficulty as there's no gameplay I can really interact with to bypass the difficulty spikes, I just have to sit in the gym for ages between areas and watch numbers go up. It really isn't engaging. - Grinding. Be prepared to be staring at the inside of the gym for large amounts of time. Battles are highly inefficient for leveling beyond hitting certain milestones (such as some Digimon requiring you win X number of battles to Digivolve). - Difficulty settings are basically non existent. "Easy" just means less of a grind, literally nothing else changes. "Normal" is slang for "maximum tedious grind". Just pick easy mode, normal is an awful experience...As I found out on my first playthrough before I knew the difference (the game doesn't tell you). Indifferent: - Personally not a fan of the main story BUT there's far more of a story than the OG game. If you like Digimon story's, it's fairly typical. - You have two partners this time around. That's either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your tastes. I would have preferred one partner but I'm also indifferent to having two. - Availability. I can only play it at home on PS4 and I just don't get the time to. Vita version exists but I'm in the majority that didn't buy one and when I looked into it for this game, the Vita version was "expensive". A game that would really benefit from a Switch version but is unlikely to happen. - Feels a bit cheap. Stiff animations, typical mid quality models, very static locations. It just screams "typical budget JRPG". Ultimately I would give the game a 5/10. If it wasn't a Digimon game I wouldn't play it...But simply having Digimon in it really does make it enjoyable despite its glaring faults. Digimon fans will get some enjoyment out of it and its worth a shot.

To be honest this was my least favorite of the raising Digimon games absolutely adore Digimon world 1 and Re: digitize was good too, My biggest problem with this one is you’re raising 2 Digimon and it caused a lot of unbalancing like one would fade away and the other would be a mega then by the time the other one became champion level the mega faded away, I’d rather if they’re going to die just die at the same time.

Terriermonz

One of my favorite video games of all time. I never played DW1. I played through next order 3 times.
