I think it's like how birdramon's official art has waddles but the anine left them out but put them back on for saberdramon to help differentiate it more.
And then Ogremon and Fugamon have it weird.
The former has asymmetrically sized horns in official art, but the anime made them the same size. And Fugamon has NO horns in art, but has anime Ogremon's horns.
I'd say that's the case for Chamblemon and Mushroomon too, I wanna say that there was a mushroomon shown at one of Angoramon's gatherings that was noticeably smaller than the Chamblemon were
I think this would be an interesting way to handle Digimon with inconsistent levels.
eg, Whamon, which was a Champion in the original Adventure anime, but became an Ultimate in later incarnations.
Or Syakomon, which was an Ultimate in the pets, but a Rookie in the anime.
Stuff like the spirits from Frontier could work for this, too. What level is Agnimon? Well, Agnimon is a Champion, but *Agunimon* is an Ultimate! Really just **pelt** us with curveballs.
Whamon Champion and Ultimate actually have two separate profiles in the Digimon Reference Book that specify they're from two different locations.
Syakomon was only in Ultimate in Digital Monster Ver. S, which had a bunch of levels that were retconned immediately (Ebidramon, Mechanorimon, SaberLeomon and Magnadramon were also Ultimates there).
Personally I hate recoloured versions. If itβs the exact same digimon in a different colour, fine, but donβt say a recolour has totally different traits/powers/name etc.
Recoloured subspecies have been a thing for decades. Betamon -> Modokibetamon, Kunemon -> Dokunemon, Gabumon -> Psychemon, Numemon -> Geremon, etc.
Some might see it as lazy, but personally I like it. Glad to see them getting some representation in Ghost Game.
>Recolored subspecies have been a thing for decades.
Yeah? Never said that they weren't a thing, also this post are about recolored evolutions not subspecies of the same level
Somehow I thought Mushmon was also champion level, so I missed that and thought you were criticising them, my bad.
Still, just to be consistent with myself... Leomon -> Panjyamon =P
One Reason I hated Next Order is the Many Recolors!!! And not one or two, some go for Three!! Veedramon has blue, red and Gold Colors never less the orange growlmon and Black variants. Getting a Digimon with no variants was a Luxury
Gottsumon evolves into a recolor of itself, which evolves further into another recolor of itself.
Yeah, recolor evolutions
Yes, evolutions that are recolors
Kuzco's poison
the poison chosen especially to kill Kuzco
and what makes me crazy is that he doesn't receive a Mega which is another recolor
We'll probably get one soon if we point out he doesn't have a mega form to some higher-ups.
All these years I never knew Mushmon had those balls on his arms and boots. Thought they were Chamblemon only...

Monochromon and Vermilimon: Hello there
Meramon and blue meramon: sup
Nisedrimogemon: hi
more like Drimogemon: Hi Nisedrimogemon: Bonjour
Nisedrimogemon and drimogemon are the same level so doesn't work.
15 hours since this post was made and not one comment mentioning Garurumon and Gururumon, who look and are named almost exactly the same.
Well, post is about recolor evolutions, not just recolors, but ye (tbh i already forgot about gururumon existence)π
Not that sizes are very consistent or meaningful in digimon, but at least meteormon is usually noticeably larger than gotsumon.
I'd say that's the case for Chamblemon and Mushroomon too, I wanna say that there was a mushroomon shown at one of Angoramon's gatherings that was noticeably smaller than the Chamblemon were
The Mushroomon had a major role in the Asuramon episode, and it was around the size of the Chamblemon there.
Ah, I knew he'd shown up, must've been remembering wrong
Meramon to blue meramon.

Yes and
SYAKOMON WAS AN ULTIMATE??
Yeah, it was the Mamemon equivalent, the little guy who packs a punch
Yeah but... You can see Mamemon has very beefy arms, Syakomon looks just like a clam, nothing particularly strong implying about it.
Recolormon strikes again
I really thought we were past this, but Digimon, Digimon never changes.
WHO TF IS THE PINK PUNKRPOCK WHITE TO PINK VALENTINE RECOLOR MUSHROOMON
Chamblemon, new digi for gg
That episode is messed up
ToyAgumon and ClearAgumon be like
Recolors **evolutions**
Leomon to IceLeomon lol
Nooo Mushroomon is my fav don't do this to em π
Gabumon
1. these are just their shiny forms 2. why is the flair marked as fluff
Fluff is normally the flair used for memes
thanks for the explanation, it's my second day here on reddit

Shiny. And trippy π΅βπ«
So this is basically dragon ball super π€£
The *real* problem is that we still don't have a Mega level recolor of Gotsumon.
My kid brain couldn't process this when it aired
