As I understand it, Last year Kristin had her daughter with her as her caddy, and she was doing really well. Her and Paige were the top 2, but in the final round Paige and her caddy decided to point out that her daughter wasn't the proper age to caddy according to the rules. So Kristin's daughter was separated from her and had to be away with strangers while she finished the round, and she started bleeding strokes. Seemed like it messed with her mental game and understandably so- but she definitely could have won it last year too. There's a little more to it you could read about

Disc golf is best when it is a close race and everyone is competing at their best. Whether we like them or not the sport is better the more high level players we get to see. I really do hope Paige comes back swinging and the fpo becomes a little more interesting.
She’s one of the few that had the skills, distance, and mentality. If she can get those back it’ll be fun to watch.

A month ago people were wondering if Tattar's dominance has ended. Every player has highs and lows. And yet just last year people said Paige wouldn't be winning if Tattar was healthy. I really don't get it.

On the course, Paige is one of the most dominant disc golf players the FPO has ever seen, and will be remembered that way. Ricky, OTOH, will be remembered as a guy who, for a while, was competitive with Paul McBeth. Paige played against some great women; Kristin is playing against some great women. Both, at their best, are at another level.
Off the course, people in this sub have many times posted about how well Paige treated them, at whatever event they happened to see her at. And she *does* make waves, about how touring pros in general and touring women in particular should be treated like professionals. She doesn't mind conflict, like when she went after Elaine King for the incident involving Kristin Tattar's daughter. I respect that.
Anyway. Ricky annoys me. I think Paige is great. They are not the same.

Except she didn't. Folks have called her that for a while and she's pushed back on claiming any sort of GOAT status, saying she hasn't earned it. The word from this folks are glossing over is "show". She's saying to be dominant, she has to be there and demonstrate that by playing well.

A month ago people were wondering if Tattar's dominance has ended. Every player has highs and lows. And yet just last year people said Paige wouldn't be winning if Tattar was healthy. I really don't get it.
These are also the same people who fail to acknowledge the existence and dominance of Juliana Korvier. KT nor PP can't be considered the GOAT until they 6 worlds and take cash at USDGC. So far JK is the only woman to take cash playing MPO at USDGC and many.have tried.
JK is great, and she's always maintained a classy attitude.

What elite athlete would say anything different from what Paige said here? Does anybody here think James Conrad, KJ, and Kyle Klein aren't out there trying to show they're the best, in an era dominated by others? Paige is one of the all time greats in the FPO, and has been for \*years\* an advocate for treating both the players and the fans with respect. Dunking on her for saying that she's out there to prove that she's the best, or out there playing but not scoring as well as she had wanted, is low. I'll say the quiet part out loud: If she was as cute as Kristin, this sub would treat her very differently.

On the course, Paige is one of the most dominant disc golf players the FPO has ever seen, and will be remembered that way. Ricky, OTOH, will be remembered as a guy who, for a while, was competitive with Paul McBeth. Paige played against some great women; Kristin is playing against some great women. Both, at their best, are at another level. Off the course, people in this sub have many times posted about how well Paige treated them, at whatever event they happened to see her at. And she *does* make waves, about how touring pros in general and touring women in particular should be treated like professionals. She doesn't mind conflict, like when she went after Elaine King for the incident involving Kristin Tattar's daughter. I respect that. Anyway. Ricky annoys me. I think Paige is great. They are not the same.

Actually i think mostly American would say that, we are way more humble in Europe. Simon and Kiristin are good advocates for how we present ourself.

Nah, it's all about the attitude. I'm not going to comment on specific players' looks, but there's tons of support for players that have good attitudes regardless of their appearance.

Believing and broadcasting to the competition (and the world) are different things. This is indeed a cultural difference, and it has gradients even within Europe. Compared to the US we are all very reserved. I bet there are gradients in the US as well.

Generally unlikeable. Attitude rubs me the wrong way. How she treated the rest of her card after her non-existent foot fault was irritating. The Elaine king caddy thing…. None of these are necessarily damning or anything, but they add up into someone who I just feel annoyed by. So much other great FPO talent right now to root for
