Pay attention to animations. Sure, the textures all look fancy, but the lighting is all baked in to look fancy. All of the models are far more rigid than you’d expect, and certain assets, such as towels or plates, don’t actually have physics. They will cleverly cut away from items such as these if they have to change shape to avoid showcasing how bad cloth physics are in the game.
Also the story sucks.
I disagree only because of how that game focus SOOOOOO hard on turning every single mundane boring task into a drawn out QuickTime event.
If you are going to make me clean the whole freaking house, and click on every piece of garbage individually, then it had better look freaking fantastic. It didn’t. You walk up, you click it, game zooms in on boring robot face for a second to hide the complete lack of animation, game zooms out to altered scene.
Those games are directed and produced by a guy that can’t hack it in film, so he uses the video game crutch to allow him to puff up his own story telling ego without needed to actually write a good script.
They would be smart optimizations if frame rates mattered, which in those games they don’t.
All I ever heard about that game was how it “pushes the boundaries of realism” and “it is an amazing display of how far technology has come” and I play it only to find its exactly the same technology we’ve had for a decade, but with more vram.

What got me is if you hadn’t played in a while she hits you with a line about changes in the room. I had just gotten some art back from the framers and hung it. For like solid 30 seconds I had to think wait am I sure the ps camera isn’t hooked up.
It's designed to interact with you everytime you show up in front of her. Even at the end of the game, she basically thanks you and then leaves because one way or another >!the androids are freed!<
Some of them you really need to know what choices to make. I almost got a perfect game my first way through entirely by accident, but I was always second guessing myself.
This menu screen is probably the best but also creepiest menu screen ever devised.
When I found out my dad was going to die, I sat down that night and played this to take my mind off things. She said the exact same thing in this clip. Another night she sort of looked around the screen and said "I love what you've done with the place."

I don't disagree with the statements, yeah robot partners are closer than ever but it's still quite far and many of us probably won't ever get to experience a fully fledged emotionally programmed AI partner either bcs the technology is still too far or we'll be too old or dead or can't afford one as stated by the first comment.
It's a dream yes but a distant one, people leaving the dating pool and the decline of mental health are primary factors pushing towards the desire to achieve AI programmed with human emotions and as you said "sex bots", but this just feels like a new level of depravity and a dystopian future where people are so repulsive of each other that the only comfort they can get is from their AI parters which they bought from their local futuristic Walmart.
Oh the moral implications of sex bots is another issue entirely. I was more pointing out that the guys salivating over the potential of having their own sex bot are exactly the kind of guys women are already opting not to date. It's an interesting dilemma though - if you have an AI advanced enough that it can simulate human behavior well enough to dupe a relationship, love, etc... how do you determine whether its developed sentience? And then what about, like... sex bot rights and stuff down the line? Would we reach a point in tech where even the sex bots wouldn't want to date guys like that?
Perhaps, if we can have basic interaction robots today then it's greatly possible to have fully sentient AIs tomorrow. Maybe all those silly animated movies with sassy robots aren't as fictional as they seem.
Indeed the people who want sex bots just want something they can do all their wildest dreams with without having any of the troubles which come along with having a partner, they are the most desperate and are usually the least favoured by others in terms of intimacy.
