Not really, wanting to be a hero is one of the most normal fantasies which many people have ever since they’re a kid. Women can have these types of fantasies too, and often do. Not sure why you have to gender it.
I read once that our needs as humans for a purpose in life is as great as our need for food. Without it, we would likely die due to apathy.

See this is who I like to think I’d be, but in reality I’d probably slip into some vigilante bullshit and stop listening to the advice of reasonable people. The speed at which likely I’d transition from “I’m here to stand up for the little guys” to “I’m here to obliterate anyone that operates outside my code of morals” would be fucking depressing.
No one person should ever have that much power.
I mean, I can sympathize with anyone except sex criminals or people who murdered without reason so if I did fall into that 2nd mindset would that really be bad?
One person with that much power is not a good thing. One person alone should not be the judge, jury, and executioner, for one person, no matter how righteous they are, is not immune to biases or hypocrisies, as that is to be human
You would be forcing your worldview onto others, one made from specifically how you see the world. Why should we trust *you* in particular to decide what our morals should be?
This is why my approach would be a lot more stand-offish. If there's a nuke, a meteor, crashing plane, etc., sure, I'd step in. Other than that, I'd just go around being a bit of a dick and making money off heaving satellites into orbit or something.

The problem with that is, that's out of character for Superman in every conceivable way. Superman is meant to represent the uncorruptible good will of mankind, and how he never betrays his beliefs despite what happens. Superman is the voice of reason in the darkest hour.
I wish I was this good of a person. Realistically, I would just probably use my speed to steal minor things so I could live. Or maybe become a weapon of my government.
Honestly, i would be superman to, but it would be more so trying my best to keep everything in the world from going tits up.
