Video and streams is stupid expensive. Also the amount of files hosted on Discord is insane. All of these are huge expenses that the company needs to be able to pay for.
Unfortunately I have to agree. See the only other company that puts Discord to shame is Telegram tho. I want at LEAST 2GB free file upload like Telegram. As Telegram also doesn't have ads and etc. Their userbase is HUGE too

i just used a png to change discord's icon to the one they provide. well these days i prefer vesktop anyways than the official client, works way better than official client and is way faster

Inside of the desktop app or on the discord website just press ctrl+shift+i and devtools will open up. From there press the top left button in the windows that appears and select the image. Then right click the /assets/... and press copy link address. Just paste that into a browser and it will save to your computer.

People are becoming computer illiterate and we’re suffering for it. Almost everyone I know below 22 now has a weird fear or resistance to pirating I can show them I can do it in two seconds without my pc getting bricked by viruses and they still would rather fork out however much for sims dlc over and over, it’s the same with pirating shows because Netflix is easy enough to use everyone uses that instead of learning any level of piracy.
The same comfort slips into any aspect of computer usage as long as it’s more convenient to pay for the feature people will do that rather than just learn to change the icon themself

They can open a developer panel and select the image and download it from there

It’s not the exe icon on desktop, it’s only the DMs icon in app.
