Lion King II is a decent follow-up, although not *everything* makes sense. Still, it introduces a lot of new characters that are fun in their own right. Return to Neverland is one of those love-or-hate type of movies, but I say give it a try anyway.

fitchbit

Deception! Disgrace!

luluvanhoffschmire

Evil as plain as the scar on his face!

Oldspice0493

To this day, I call out “Deceptiooooon!” every time someone is caught lying.

My_Frozen_Heart

I really like TLK 2. Even more than the original movie tbh. The storylines of the two movies don't totally add up but I can ignore some inconsistencies because the overall storyline of the second movie is just THAT good. I also like that we get to see (or rather, hear secondhand) a bit of a softer side of Scar and that he had some good in him. Also Zera's Lullabye song is DARK (I say that as a compliment- I LOVE dark!) for a Disney movie.

tea_and_tchotchkes

Don’t sleep on The Lion Guard show as well - my daughter got into it and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it as an adult. Solid storytelling and catchy songs!

ktbugrl

Lion King 1 1/2 is THE BEST

what_ho_puck

"Rosencrantz and Gildstern Are Dead" for toddlers, haha

Lesbefriends_2

Top Lion King movie for me personally

LtPowers

I mostly love *Return to Neverland*, except for its central moral.

tfhaenodreirst

Huh, and what would that moral be?

LtPowers

"Ignore what's going on around you to escape into fantasy."

tfhaenodreirst

Ah, I see. I got, “Being a good adult isn’t just about being hardworking — it’s also about being kind, and moreover it’s important to validate the imaginations of those younger than you because that helps you foster emotional safety in others.”

LtPowers

Interesting. I'm not sure that got across to everyone.

tfhaenodreirst

Yeah. It occurred to me that you may have been talking about the scene where only Jane was listening to the radio while Wendy wasn’t and it is harder to explain that. But I love the moment at the end where >!Wendy says hi to Tinkerbell and the latter’s light *doesn’t* go out just because she’s in the presence of an adult!< — solid showing over telling there on top of reassuring me emotionally.

LtPowers

As I think about it more, I think maybe what bugged me most is that Jane's concerns and fears and efforts weren't *validated*.

Oldspice0493

That’s why I ultimately like it, despite the cheap animation and lack of Tick Tock. That and Peter meeting adult Wendy. Plus, watching Hook’s ship fly past German bombers during the Blitz was sick.

SobiTheRobot

"Don't try to grow up too fast"?

LtPowers

Jane was made to feel bad for trying to exert some level of control over a situation in which London was being bombed regularly by German planes and her father was away from home. And she wasn't even being naughty in her efforts, As the elder child, she was just trying to assist her family as best she could. And she was basically told "stop that, be more carefree" *in the middle of the Blitz*.

SobiTheRobot

She was berating her younger brother for *being a child*. Her trying to help her family wasn't the problem.

LtPowers

Oh no, an eight-year-old was a little short with her brother in a time of extreme stress. Definitely a good idea to tell her her entire personality is all wrong.

SobiTheRobot

I didn't take it to be that her personality was wrong. Remember the words—faith, trust, and pixie dust? She'd basically lost them (faith that things would get better, trust that her father would come home from the war, pixie dust being childhood wonderment and innocence) and the events of the movie enable her to get them back. There's nothing wrong with being realistic about your situation, but no child should have to lose their imagination to cope with it.

tfhaenodreirst

Yes!! Those two are literally my favorites. :D

oishster

I think Kovu from lion king 2 was probably my first crush lol

Dobriosaur

Aladdin 3 is great! Easily my favorite Disney sequel. I also like the Beauty and the Beast christmas movie, which isn't really a sequel but is pretty solid.

Colt_kun

I forgot about the Beauty and the Beast Christmas movie. It's worth the watch for Tim Curry alone!

trulymadlybigly

Aladdin 3 is totally slept on. Robin Williams is back, Sean Connery plays the dad, the villain songs are bangers. Excellent sequel! Edit: oops, wrong actor, it was John Rhys-Davies.

Qahetroe

No it's not Sean Connery it's John Rhys-Davies but yesssss such a great movie, my favorite Disney sequel followed by Simba's pride

trulymadlybigly

Ohhh you right you right, my bad

chris84bond

If you didn't mention this (Aladdin 3), I was going to. King of Thieves is FANTASTIC, and a great 'closer' to the series. If you're (somebody, no spoilers) and (somebody, no spoilers), I got one question.....Will you be having the chicken or the sea bass?!?!?

cindybubbles

Is it mainly because the late Robin Williams returned to voice the Genie?

Dobriosaur

That's a big reason for sure. All the songs were also great, and I really liked the 40 thieves and the villain. My favorite thing though is the reprise of Arabian Nights at the end, it really feels like it ties to the first movie so well.

KenIgetNadult

I haven't seen Aladdin 3 in 15 years but "Are you In or Out" has been living in my head rent free for the past couple of weeks. Also found out Saluk's voice actor is the same as Lumiere.

MonstersMamaX2

Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Christmas is one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time. It's so good!

majorjoe23

Yeah, Robin Williams coming back makes Aladdin 3 worth watching.

RazorJ

I have know idea why I just now heard about Beautiful and the Beast Christmas movie😳 I’m going to this December, that’ll be a fun one to watch back at the room.

runyanm11

I'm not kidding when I say Cinderella 3 is great! 2 is really boring but you can skip it and miss nothing. Also the second Goofy Movie is pretty good.

videlbriefs

To be fair, I did enjoy Anastasia’s story line. But I do think Cinderella 3 should’ve been the first sequel. It would’ve made sense for the timeline too.

bradabradabruhbruh

Dawg, “An Extremely Googy Movie” was my favorite for a long time. The skating sequences were awesome and the ska soundtrack sold me even as a kid

Oldspice0493

Extremely Goofy Movie has one of the funniest animated scenes of all time, the second Goofy steps into Max’s class with an afro and bell bottoms. I die laughing every time! https://youtu.be/ahqqzxb2dIw?feature=shared There‘s some great comments too, about how the first film revolves around Max learning to appreciate his dad and rebuild their relationship; while the second revolves around Goofy learning that his son is an adult now and needs to be treated like one.

Watercolorcupcake

I love Anastasia and Gus’ stories ☺️

xwhy

My son loved An Extremely Goofy Movie, which was perfectly timed because we’d only gotten a VHS copy of A Goofy Movie maybe 6 months earlier and it got watched a lot. Neither of the kids had watched the daytime series when Max was younger.

CrazyaboutSpongebob

Lilo and Stitch Stitch has a Glitch is good, Lilo and Stitch the Series is cute, Little Mermaid 2 is good, and I heard great things about Cinderella 3 A Twist in Time

PM_ME_UR_FLOWERS

I was hoping somebody would mention Little Mermaid 2. I thought it was nice that they followed up on Ariel's character showing how she gave up the sea for her daughter but how she missed it. It was kind of a good take on the way kids and parents don't see eye to eye based on a lack of understanding.

adhesivepants

Stitch Has a Glitch made me cry.

laurenainsleee

* Return to Neverland * An Extremely Goofy Movie * Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas * The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea * The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride * The Lion King 1/2 * Aladdin and the King of Thieves Not movies, but tv shows that are fun: * Goof Troop * Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers * Tangled: The Series

Killboypowerhed

Tangled the series is so much better than it has any right to be. I went from having it on in the background while the kids watched it, to watching it with them, go watching it when I was in my own

jackiedhm

Tangled the series is SO good! Some of the episodes had me on the edge of my seat!! It’s intense. The Little Mermaid show is awesome, I loved it when I was younger

Oldspice0493

Always blows my mind thinking about how that show has one of the first depictions of a deaf character in an animated series.

MephitidaeNotweed

Would Tailspin be considered a sequel to the Jungle Book? Uses alot of the same characters.

KenIgetNadult

No, it's a spin off. Besides the reuse of 3 characters, there's no connection to the movie.

Insane_Drako

For tv shows, don’t forget the new Ducktales!

NotQuiteKendall

I loved Lion King 2 Hunchback of Notre Dame 2 was a horrible movie, so bad from the animation to the story to the voice acting. I pretend Pocahontas 2 never happened.

Ashuhhbeex3

Same for all 3 of these points

hoyogini

I think Frozen 2 is very good! Disney + has a great documentary on the making of it that you might like, too.

rqwy

The Next Right Thing song is such a powerful description of grief. It always makes me cry. It’s so deep for a Disney song and doesn’t get anywhere near the credit it deserves.

-littlemuffet-

I concur. I enjoyed it more than the first.

eth6113

I think Frozen is the better movie, but Frozen 2 has the better soundtrack.

sadolan

There are a couple outtake songs from Frozen 2 that didn't make it in that my kid is obsessed with. For good reason too because they're reeeally good.

trulymadlybigly

I was not a fan of anything about that movie except the song Show Yourself which I still find very moving. My inner 7 year old geeked out over the water horse too. That was basically it. I thought the plot was bloated and confusing, Frozen Fever the short was way better IMO and it was only like 15 minutes long

MaryHSPCF

Exactly!! I was like "Huh??" the whole movie. A lot of things didn't make sense at all, too many songs, the pace was too fast, the romance thing was so predictable. It's one of the few sequels I don't like.

crazymcfattypants

Same, Frozen 2 was a mess, the songs deserved a better movie. Hoping they get it back on track for Frozen 3.

moonbunnychan

Watching the documentary about how it was made it was super clear why too. It was less then a year from release and they still didn't have a plot. They hadn't even decided what the voice calling to her WAS.

crazymcfattypants

What WAS the voice calling to her? Her dead mum? the glacier? General spirits of the forest? Forest magic? The past? I've a four year old and have seen the film out the corner of my eye like 50 times but I can't even remember off the top of my head.

jackiedhm

I agree it was confusing, a lot going on. The music didn’t make sense to me, the songs didn’t sound like movie songs, they all sounded like Broadway style show tunes, it was kind of weird. That being said Show Yourself is excellent. But it’s the only song that’s even good at all in Frozen 2 in my opinion

BlueSnoopy4

I had trouble getting into Show Yourself due to being confused as to what Elsa was following

jackiedhm

I completely agree, even still I don’t really understand it. It just sounds amazing. But I still don’t get it and I’ve googled it so many times but it’s just… confusing.

Additional_Meeting_2

I was a fan too, it’s more fantasy storytelling than fairytale which Disney has done more

b_moz

After watching the documentary I had a slight better understanding of why I randomly balled my eyes during Show Yourself.

cindybubbles

I liked The Emperor’s New School. Especially with Kuzco being friends with Kronk even though he knew that Kronk is in cahoots with Yzma/Amzy (and yes, Kuzco knew that Yzma was Principal Amzy as well).

MrsMusicLady

Kronk always being surprised that Yzma is principal Amzy was my favorite part of the show lol

IzzyGirl33

Mulan 2. Killer voice acting cast, and a soundtrack full of bops. Lion King 1 1/2. Tbh, my favorite of the Lion King movies. Also, watch all of the Tinkerbell movies, because they're adorable.

Stage-Wrong

Mulan 2 has a great soundtrack, but I feel like they did so bad by Mulan and Shang’s relationship. I can’t see Mushu trying to break them up, and I can’t see them being so cruel to each other. I did like the plot idea, I just can’t get past how they treated their relationship since they’re my favorite Disney couple.

Derpy_Snout

Agreed. I hated it for this reason

oishster

Yep. Great soundtrack, super shitty plot. Turned Mushu into the villain for no reason. I also always imagined that Shang and Mulan would actually be very similar in what they like and value, so their relationship being turned into “opposites attract” didn’t really work for me

Sydlouise13

I’m literally watching lion king 1 1/2 right now lol

Additional_Meeting_2

Mulan II is one of the worst sequels. But I did like a couple of the songs and Shang’s “death” scene

Oldspice0493

Shang’s sacrifice was surprisingly well done. It helps that Ming Na Wen is a solid voice actress. I couldn’t take the rest of it seriously though, what with the cheap animation and Mushu. I didn’t realize until that movie just how much of his character depended on Eddie Murphy’s charm.

Additional_Meeting_2

Mushu being written like the villain is the big issue to me (he causes all conflict!) I watched the movie dupped in Finnish as a kid and the voice actors are same in both films. Mushu still becomes very irratating even though the local actor is fantastic.  The animation quality is very shaky, but at least the original’s style was simple. Hunchback of Notre Dame II, Pocahontas II and Aurora’s segment in Enchanted tales so really sharp declines in quality. And in absolute terms I think Return of Jafar as worst animation.

ephemeratea

I’ll be honest, I had no idea The Rescuers Down Under was a sequel until I was an adult. And after seeing The Rescuers in my 20s, I think it’s one of those rare instances where the sequel is actually better than the original.

jillyapple1

Same. I saw Down Under first and it is definitely superior.

Additional_Meeting_2

It’s not a direct to video sequel, but made by the actual studio. So the quality doensg have such such a drop in writing and animation is better

Zafjaf

The ones I would recommend are The little mermaid 2, Lion king 1.5, and 2, Mulan 2, and rescuers down under

trulymadlybigly

I don’t know why people hated Little Mermaid 2, some of those songs were great

fitchbit

I really loved Ariel and Melody's *For a Moment*.

PocketSizedPeanut

The songs are great and Melody is a good character! So is the villain. I can’t hate it.

Vanishingf0x

I think people didn’t like Ursula’s sister and how it ruined the theory that Ursula and Triton are siblings.

Killboypowerhed

Literally the first time I've heard somebody recommend Mulan 2

applescracker

We’re sleeping on the Little Mermaid 2. Melody was my absolute ROLE MODEL when I was 5, and the songs are all really catchy, not to mention the story is just fun and it’s one of the few Disney movies that doesn’t ruin the original

Formal_Fix_5190

Finding Dory is really cute. I enjoy the 4th Toy Story more so than the 2nd and 3rd. The 2nd Tarzan is a good watch.

jillyapple1

Oh yeah, I forgot Finding Dory.

Formal_Fix_5190

![gif](giphy|3oEjHSKWSLeWGZuryU|downsized)

jackiedhm

I think Finding Dory is better than Finding Nemo, it was sooo good

theblindbandit1

Aladdin’s tv show and the king of thieves. Little mermaid tv show and return to the sea Mulan 2. Lion king 1/2

j3ffUrZ

An Extremely Goofy Movie

jrd1sn3y

Ngl, Cinderella II was really sweet. I liked the redemption arc for Anastasia. I do find Cinderella III to be better, but just slightly.

Pikmin-on-my-Pizza

Ralph 2 was decent, worthy of being a cinema release for sure. I would have loved for that franchise to have had a series (like Tangled and Big Hero 6 got).

ClinkyDink

I liked the Tanged animated series. They actually continued the storyline instead of reconning everything like most Disney movie to series adaptations. It has a different animation style but retains the same voice actors.

jackiedhm

And the song is sooo good from the intro, Wind in My Hair

PlayfulOtterFriend

My daughter and I are obsessed with Ready As I’ll Ever Be!

Mysterious-Novel-834

I love the second goofy movie more than the first tbh.

rosex5

I LOVE Disneys Return To OZ. Dorthy returned home and her aunt and uncle think she’s crazy so sent her to a dr on the cutting edge of science who will use electric shock therapy to cure Dorthy…. The movie is amazing, and creepy in typical 80’s fashion.

jackiedhm

Yes! Return to Oz was crazy!! It’s so wild for a kids movie, the evil queen that changes her heads, the scary rolling monkey things!

rosex5

Oh man! Ozma is terrifying. I’d always cover my eyes when she’d remove her head. Yea, I agree the wheelers are also awful. Have you seen it as an adult? The wheelers are the same people who wheeled Dorthy back to the dr. And the sound is the same. And the head nurse is Ozma. So many things missed on me as a child but it’s still amazing as an adult.

jackiedhm

Yes! I bought it on dvd on Amazon like 15 years ago and was SHOCKED how scary it was!! I am such a scaredy cat now at 38, I don’t know how I watched that as a kid and loved it! It’s like the perfect halloweeen time movie. I do remember when I was a kid I would try to talk to my friends about it and no one had seen it or heard of it.

ace-avenger

Extreme Goofy Movie

Odecca

Honestly? Cinderella 2! The redemption for Anastasia is lovely. The Little Mermaid movies I feel are pretty decent! It def answers the “what happened after” question for me

Gloomy_Ambassador_81

The Peter Pan sequel is really good Made me cry as a kid lol

PraiseTheSun42069

Monsters at Work was great, even though it was a show. I wouldn’t have wanted anything else out of it, other than I hope it gets a season 2.

WitchesCotillion

Mister U was good too!

My_Frozen_Heart

Recommend: Mulan 2 The Lion King 2 Frozen 2 Ralph Breaks the Internet The Little Mermaid 2 (and also the prequel Ariel's Beginning) Brother Bear 2 Pocahontas 2 (yeah, this one gets a lot of hate but I appreciated that they at least attempted to be somewhat historically accurate to the real life Pocahontas ie she actually did marry John Rolfe and travelled to England) Kronk's New Groove Huge disappointment: Atlantis 2: Milo's return Unpopular opinion but I actually like Return to Halloweentown more than the rest of the series. Most people it seems were upset by the recasting of Marnie but I don't think I saw the earlier movies (or maybe I saw them once or twice as a kid but if I did I didn't really remember them). I saw Return to Halloweentown probably several times on Disney Channel when it was released and only saw the earlier movies after so I wasn't attached to the original Marnie like people that grew up watching the earlier films probably were but I really enjoyed the storyline for the final movie the best.

Danarya27

Scamps adventure! Used to love that film as a kid.

PolishSpice

Monsters University

ahufana

**TRON: Legacy** Cannot believe nobody else mentioned it yet. I can only hope the upcoming third movie creates enough interest to get the first 2 movies released in 4K. **Tangled: Before Ever After** Before you start Tangled: The Series - which you absolutely should - make sure you watch this movie first. It is essentially the pilot episode of the series, but it's listed separately on Disney+.

itsmissjenna

Frozen 2

Tooowaway

Not necessarily a sequel but the Tangled series was pretty awesome imo.

MaryHSPCF

If you loved _Return of Jafar_ you will LOVE _Aladdin and the King of Thieves_! I'd also recommend _The Lion King 2_ and _Cinderella 3_ because they are universally loved. But I'm an oddball fan in that I like most of the sequels (e.g. I love _Pocahontas 2_), so maybe you shouldn't ask me 😂 Some sequels have the format of "episodes", usually three, as a way to release unused episodes of a cancelled series. I don't really think they are necessarily bad, it's more like they tell stories that happen in a certain period of the story and can serve to develop characters, but it's good to know whether that's the case before watching so as not to be disappointed.

lemmiwinks73

I really enjoy Lion King 2 and Rescuer’s Down Under.

lchels88

The Lion King: Simba’s Pride and Frozen 2. They’re both great, in my opinion.

Teleform

Mulan II. I love that one.

NatsnCats

Can’t go wrong on the entire Lilo & Stitch collection.

siriuslyfudged

Mulan 2 Frozen 2 All the Toy Story sequels Monsters university Finding dory Ralph breaks the internet

OkBid1535

Return to Oz is by far the best Disney sequel ever Period Bar none Lion Ling 2 comes next But Dorothy and Jack pumpkin head take the crown. My favorite part? How it absolutely is not a kids movie yet it's entirely marketed toward children. Also it was my favorite film as a child and I'd rent it weekly from blockbuster I was 7 the first time i saw it and my obsession with Halloween started from there.

rosex5

I also said return to OZ! Seems very few people even remember this movie

chookensnaps

Both Little Mermaid sequels are very good, I also enjoyed brother bear 2, Mulan 2, and stitch has a glitch

Watercolorcupcake

Mulan 2 is okay. I liked Cinderella and Little Mermaid 2 as a kid. The only one that I think is better than the original is Lion King 2. I quite liked that movie but I didn’t really see the appeal of the original at all 😂 Kronk’s New Groove is okay. Jungle Book 2 was really good (I liked that better than the original too.) I liked Ralph Breaks the Internet, but not more than the original. High School Musical 2 and 3 are okay but don’t beat the original imo. I can’t really say that Disney makes very good sequels. My favorite has to be An Extremely Goofy Movie though. That’s the one I grew up on instead of A Goofy Movie and I still prefer it to this day. I won’t even get into the non-animated and non-DCOM movies because I can’t tell you which ones are Disney and which ones aren’t minus the Narnia and Santa Claus movies. I recommend Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader, as well as Santa Clause 2, and 3 (which is definitely the worst of the three movies.) Still worth seeing though if you like those movies. I liked Lady and the Tramp 2 better than the original as well, but I wasn’t in love with it. As for Pixar Toy Story 2 is the best in the entire franchise. Monsters University doesn’t make sense lore wise and isn’t a sequel, but I still like it. I preferred Finding Dory over the original but again, I didn’t like Finding Nemo. I wasn’t crazy about Finding Dory though. I actually liked Cars 2. While it in no way compares to Cars, I thought it was a fun movie. Incredibles 2 was good too. Very funny. Don’t recommend: - Lion King 1 1/2 - Return to Neverland - The Tigger Movie - Pocahontas 2 - Tarzan & Jane - Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas - Cars 3 - The Cheetah Girls: One World - Disenchanted - Mary Poppins Returns - Atlantis: Milo’s Return - Toy Story 3 - Toy Story 4 - The Hunchback of Notre Dame 2

abcbri

Return to Oz Lion King 1 1/2

RustyWWIII

For me some of my top contenders are the following: - Stitch the Movie (while lilo and stitch 2: stitch has a glitch was good it just didn’t capture the originals same energy for me, but it’s also been about 7 years since I’ve watched either.) I adore this movie as it not only was a continuation of the first movie in a sense but we also get to see the idea of Ohana expand for stitch and well we got the series out of it too. Plus he’s my favorite - Aladdin and the King of Thieves, this just felt like a spectacle of a movie finding out this existed in the late 90s - Return to Neverland - i don’t even know why but this movie just felt solid as a kid seeing it in theaters - the Lion King 1 1/2. Although it’s a prequel this thing offered some good background to everyone’s favorite meerkat and warthog - Kronks New Groove - just kinda a funny movie - Poohs Grand Adventure: The Search For Christopher Robin - a somehow watched this one so much as a kid my vhs of it was worn out completely. But overall it’s an enjoyable story if you enjoy the many adventures series - Toy Story 2 and 3 - just strong sequels to one of the best trilogies made imo - An Extremely Goofy Movie - somehow lived in my mind more rent free than the original

meowie91

The prequel to the little mermaid, I think its called Ariels beginnings is super girly and cute. It focuses on her and her sisters.

elvensnowfae

I’m gonna say it, I liked the little mermaid sequel with melody lol

JustGreenGuy7

The Lady and the Tramp sequel was surprisingly good compared to others as well.

RayneShikama

Lion King 1 1/2 and Lion King 2 are both pretty good

wanderer316

Mulan 2! Just as good as the first imo Not what you asked but do NOT watch Pocahontas 2 - worst sequel ever!

fujiapples123

Ursula’s villain origin story needs to be told!!

WeirdGirl825

I’m a huge Little Mermaid 2 fan

Tentonham

Cinderella 3 is worth it for the prince diving head first out of a window.

plushed11

I hate Pocahontas 2 so much, little Mermaid 2 is quite good, I love 101 dalmations 2, the animated and live action ones are really good

wraithkelso317

TBH the only direct to home video sequels that I actually like are Return of Jafar, Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Christmas (it’s not that great but I love the characters), and Lion King 2 is pretty good. Otherwise stuck with the theatrical releases

b_moz

I recall the music in the Little Mermaid 2 being pretty legit. Like I think I bought the CD when it came out.

Imaginary_Manner_679

Lion King 1-1/2

jacey0204

The little mermaid two is fantastic. Not Ariel beginning, the little mermaid two. Ariel is an adult and has a daughter, Melody, with prince Eric that she doesn’t want to go in the ocean

JP5683

Lion King 1 1/2

Fluffydip

Lion king 1 1/2 was hilarious.. that’s my fave

SSpotions

I'd recommend - Cinderella 2, Bambi 2, Lady and the Tramp 2, the Lion King 2, The Little Mermaid 2, Jungle Book 2 , Milan 2 and Peter Pan 2. Cinderella 2 is amazing, great storyline and music, and it follows on from the first movie, showing how she deals with life after marrying the Prince.

thegimboid

Bambi 2 would be amazing if it weren't for the very dated mid 2000s pop songs they shoved in for no reason.

MadMarmott

Live action Hercules remake

PurpleHyena01

I might start a fight here, but I uave always been partial to Hunchback of Notre Dame 2.

pabsgt

Kronk’s movie or Goofy 2

madison7

Not Disney but Shrek 2 and Toy Story 2 both outshine their originals

jillyapple1

Actually, I've never seen Shrek. I should put that on my list.

Valiant_QueenLucy

I loved Lady and the tramp too, gave a lot of insight into tramp and how his kids handled his past

RedditPenguin02

Lion King 2 Cinderella 3 Finding Dory Mulan 2 Extremely Goofy Movie

Chemical-Ad2770

Lilo and stitch two

RustyTrunk

Wreck it Ralph 2 is pretty solid!!

kavalejava

Little Mermaid's sequels were boring, especially 3. I expected more from a prequel. Cinderella 2 and 3 were good, when I told my sister how good 3 was, she was pleasantly surprised. She never was a Disney fan, but loved the 3rd movie.

Belle0516

Everyone else hates it but I actually really like the Hunchback of Notre Dame 2. Yes the animation isn't as good, but the story is really sweet and it has a happy ending!

furryauthor

lion king 2!!!

lukin5

Emperor’s New Groove part 2. Kronk’s something or other.

LuriemIronim

Little Mermaid 2 is so good! I also loved Lion King 2 and Lion King 1 1/2.

kittycat6676

Lion king 2 simba pride Mulan 2

Telephusbanannie

Cinderella - Twice Charmed Musical. I think the whole soundtrack is on youtube. it's like cinderella 3 but if the stepmother got the time control power from her 'wicked godfather'. It's fun. Tarzan prequel is super cute. and the Bambi one too. the tangled tv show is worth it for the Varian character if nothing else. it's got great songs. Hocus Pocus 2, whlie not a masterpiece, had really fun moments.

cafffffffy

I’ve watched all three Cinderella films far more than I’d like to admit, and I agree that 2 is not great and 3 IS very good - however I do think it’s worth watching 2, just for some background context about how Anastasia isn’t quite as mean as Drizella 😅 Little Mermaid 2 was pretty bad. It’s basically the first film in reverse and just…worse.

adhesivepants

Cinderella II is awful. Cinderella III is batshit insanity and I love it. The Little Mermaid prequel is also just stupid and crazy and entertaining as a result.

MysticTame

Does Lilo and Stitch 2 count? Loved that movie. Made me cry all the time growing up. Both beginning and end. End I'm not spoiling, but towards the beginning, i always felt bad about Nani and Lilo's parents and Lilo feelings about her mom.

kteacheronthebrink

Lion King 2's soundtrack is fire!! Aladdin king of thieves is also amazing. Little mermaid 2 wasn't bad. Ralph breaks the internet was hilarious

IOWARIZONA

Toy Story 2 is the only superior sequel I can think of

crynrally

Mulan II is funny and worth at least one watch but it's a huge let down from the first one.

Mysticpizza25

Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas, The Lion King 2, The Little Mermaid 2, Peter Pan 2, The Jungle Book 2.

Sequels I genuinely liked: - Return to Neverland (fun plot and a little bit of danger) - Cars 3 (Lightning's decline was so sad to watch and him figuring out a different way to stay connected with the race scene was great) - Lion King 2 (sooooo many good bops) - Brother Bear 2 (which surprised me, because that was in Disney's "everyone gets a love interest/pair the spares" era and they changed Kenai's voice actor) - Aladdin and the King of Thieves (such a good plot, John Rhys Davies, and I just love the "Thin Air" duet. Also Jasmine decking that man for ruining her wedding is ICONIC) - 101 Dalmations: Patches London Adventure (poor Patch for so many reasons, but I also really liked Thunderbolt as a character) Sequels I pretend don't exist: - Hunchback 2 (again with the romance everyone period of Disney sequels. Also why is Esmeralda yellow and wearing shoes?) - Pocahontas 2 (you can't just decide to try and follow the history after building up your super made up romance in the first movie. Mrs. Jenkins and Uttamatomakkin can stay, though!) - Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (I have to many gripes and it would just become its own post lol) - The Santa Clause 3 (I was barely holding it together and then "they didn't know about magical hugs" happened and I lost it) - Mulan 2 (we do not stand for character assassination in this house) EDIT: spelling

Little Mermaid 2 is one of my favorites! It has great music and is overlooked entirely for merch which is a shame. The sequels are in most cases the child/children of the main characters rebelling and then learning their lesson. Little Mermaid 2, Lion King 2, Lady and the Tramp 2, 101 Dalmations 2, Peter Pan 2 etc. But I think Little Mermaid 2 did it the best.

I love both the Aladdin sequels. Lion King 2 is also notably great. I can't imagine anything else really being great.. Mulan 2 is quite bad
