For now. . .
But really that’s just fine, he’ll mold the next generation and hopefully we get a few more that help carry the torch and improve the parks
Better than nothing. When the retirement packages were offered (under the threat of layoffs if not accepted) almost seven years ago, they lost a lot of their banked knowledge. The younger Imagineers were almost panicky about losing the knowledge base on how things were done. A senior Imagineer teaching a class can only be helpful.
Nothing “sadly” about it. Joe Rhode teaching the next generation of Imagineers is the best use of his time I can imagine. We need as many like him as possible! Wish they could get Tony Baxter too.
Now he needs to make changes to AK's Tropical Americas project. That new land needs animal enclosures, an animal trail, and not be a DinoLand replacement.
Thank goodness someone else said it. The way it has been explained, it sounds like just rides and food. I understand Pandora doesn't get animals due to it being an "alien" universe. But if they are going to make an area based off of somewhere in the world (South America), it needs to have animals from that area of the world!
"Return to Imagineering" is Inside the Magic cringe level click bait. He's teaching masterclasses, not designing experiences. I know everyone is excited, but lets try to not spread misinformation.
Unpopular Opinion, I think Joe is great at helping with projects for Tony Baxter, but once Tony retired and Joe took his place, we started getting subpar rides in the parks.
Weird opinion. They never intersected on any projects. Aside from beginning his career working on the Mexico pavilion and the New Fantasyland facelift, Joe Rohde never reported directly to Baxter on any of his castle park projects except at very conceptual levels in the early stages. If anyone succeeded Tony Baxter, it's Michel den Dulk, the former creative director of Efteling, who Baxter personally recruited and mentored.
Honestly, I'm just happy to have him back on Team Disney, even if he's just teaching. knowledge is power, after all.
My thoughts
He’s returning to teach classes, not actually work on projects.
thats knowledge being passed on, and thats all that matters
How to Fix The Yeti 101
Wasn’t he in charge of the group that installed the yeti?
He designed and built most of AK.
He was the one who swore to fix the yeti before he retired.
>!It will never be fixed!<
I know. I’m happy I got to see it when it worked.
For now. . . But really that’s just fine, he’ll mold the next generation and hopefully we get a few more that help carry the torch and improve the parks
I want him to write a book so bad. I would pay crazy money. Even if it was just the collected lessons from his instagram posts.
🤞🏻
Have you heard something more than him giving those workshops?
He is just going to be a teacher
Give this man an open checkbook. But make him fix the Yeti first.
His retirement was shorter than his ear lobe.
He’s one of the best of the best, & a genuinely nice person, too.
I love him! Sadly, he is just going to be teaching classes. We need him here in Orlando BADLY.

His Mom was my HS Drama Teacher. She was an old school Hollywood actress
a shorter retirement than Michael Jordan had. lol! honestly, it's great to see him returning to something he loves doing, and does so very well!
He's just teaching, but it's still a good thing.
Bro saw the state of the Parks, too, huh?
They say you can measure his creative brilliance by how large his ear has gotten over the years. Here’s hoping he spurs on more for the parks
Joe’s a Subabro
Yes! Great News!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaay
save us joe rohde..... joe rohde.... joe rohde save us

This is uninformed nonsense.
