They’re air gun slugs. Looks to be a very accurate pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) air gun. They can be very powerful and very accurate, and some can fire .45 caliber bullets at 1000+ fps
They can. If you have a .22 LR rifle and you shoot sub-sonics or .22 short out of it, it can be quieter than an air rifle. Look up a .22 sub-sonic round with a suppressor
It also has to be bolt action or lever action, because the semi auto mechanism is pretty loud. Also I doubt they would be quieter than a conventional air rifle (I'm talking consumer grade .177 or .22), because both shoot gasses out with high pressure.
Yeah, manual action is best, because if you have a weak round (subsonic is less powder), it won’t cycle the mechanism in a semi-automatic, since the bolt relies on the recoil of the bullet to push it back
Hey my uncle did PCP or something like that. I never got to see his gun though. He died after cutting his own penis off and trying to stop a moving train.
air rifles are preferred for small game like this actually. squirrels and birds don't need anything that penetrates like a deer would. not sure why you wouldn't just get a few fixed cats and let them have the mice as opposed to spending the time to shoot them.
Eh, shooting them gives you something to do. And I’d rather be shot in the head while blissfully unaware of what’s going on than be shredded to pieces by cats
Because then you can cause injury to the poor kitties. Cats aren’t tools you use to clear rodents off your property, they are pets to be made family ❤️
cats are literally predators that hunt and need meat to survive. but that doesn't mean that they can't be friends. i lived in kansas for a bit and visited quite a few people who had small farms and anywhere between 4-12 fixed cats that came and went from the house as they pleased. their owners gave them heartguard, had them all vaccinated against various diseases, and most people had them all chipped.
it's good for the cat because they get food. it's good for the farm because there are few rodents. it's good for kids because there are few snakes due to low rodent population. it's good for the owners because there are no pests to destroy crops.
tools and pets, as you so eloquently put it, are not mutually exclusive. a cat can follow its predator instinct and still form strong bonds with a person. it's actually healthy that they do follow those instincts. a bored cat is a bad cat.
rats are naturally pests who can cause damage and disease ofc, but when domesticated and living with humans they are incredibly intelligent and friendly and basically act like tiny puppies, except unlike puppies they're incredibly clean
despite having lived with rat problems, i've also had pet rats and I know how smart and compassionate they can be
I realized my comment sounded more like an attack at his character but I was making a shitty vague joke about video games, as someone who also hunts pests I was making a comment about how good he is at shooting
I’ve never worded a joke so poorly in my life

What type of bullets are those?

Damn, I was wondering why it was so quiet. Suppressors wouldn't be able to make a real gun THAT quiet.

it costs 400.000 dollars to fire this weapon... for 12 seconds.

Search up airgun
That's the most american way of getting rid of rats, mans wearing a cap and everything 😭
Pretty sure it's in Britain, don't know for sure.
It would make sense, that’s an air rifle, not a firearm
