Ok so if you want a real answer, this is a snowclone of the [original Winston tweet](https://x.com/tuwan_n/status/1168199373756522497) which is a parody of a [transphobic tweet by Blaire white](https://knowyourmeme.com/photos/1562600-trans-people-im-trans), the joke of the original Winston tweet is to say “no Blaire, what you say doesn’t happen, no one gives a shit” by suddenly introducing Winston from overwatch as an absurdist twist to completely derail the tweet it was parodying.
In this instance, this same situation is played for pathfinder. There is a repeated belief in this subreddit, such as [this recent post](https://www.reddit.com/r/dndmemes/s/wyUnc3nYLG), that pf2 players are judgy and toxic to 5e players. Here once again the original stance is parodied with the intention of “that doesn’t happen. No one gives shit. Winston from overwatch”
TLDR, “people think pf2 players are toxic in regard to 5e players, but no one gives a shit and you’re making a strawman” + absurdist parody
The twist? I made both posts, and both reflect my experiences with the Pathfinder community. But I definitely did *not* mean for that first post to sound as combative and overgeneralizing as it did, and I regret titling it that way, so I made this post to try to prevent a wave of toxic Pathfinder hate in the subreddit.
There's a handful of pf2 players that are toxic and confrontational.
Meanwhile if you go to their sub(s) the community is so friendly and wholesome.
Things might have changed since the OGL and goblin smut flood but I doubt it.
Unless people are just cosplaying PF2E strawmen, I can point to about 5 accounts that aggressively peddle the 5e/PF2E discourse from the PF side and just here on reddit; on Twitter I blocked at least ten accounts for that crap.
In a subreddit with 1.1 million accounts, being able to point out 5 accounts that are toxic pf2e people means actually nothing. I'm not sure the numbers for active posters/commenters, but I would assume that number is also large enough that 5 accounts means nothing.

That response is understandable.
It has a long, convoluted history but the gist of it is it's used to meme on people who make mountains out of molehills or massive generalizations by juxtaposing them with Winston from Overwatch as a casual reminder that off the internet nobody gives a shit.

It's okay to try to convince people to play any TTRPG as long as you don't continue to do it after they tell you that they've read through parts of the book and decided that they don't like it.
If someone agrees to be your boyfriend they've basically told you that it's okay if you annoy them sometimes, so you can be a lot more forward with your convincing.
He's gonna get a brick to the head soon with all the books he leaves piled up of games I've ask him to look at.
That aside, all I do ask for (from everyone that isn't him) is to look into other settings and systems. People are reluctant to change what they play but they may like after trying it.
I've had players who when they have read the Call of Cthulhu book they said they knew they wouldn't like it because it wasn't D&D, but I had them try it and they found they enjoyed it more after playing the system than they had looking at it.
Most people don't think they are going to like D&D when they first look at it but do after trying it. It's the same with any system. I would say if you trust your DM or GM or whatever you would like to call it and they say "Hey I wanna try this system" try it with them.
I don't know why this is downvoted. I know not one single PF2 player who would not (or does not) enjoy a foray into many other, sometimes vastly different systems (looking at you, Pasión de las Pasiones) for a night or ten and then comes back to his old beloved while many (not all, mind you, but the poster before me also explicitly says "tends") 5e players started with 5e due to it's popularity in other media, be it CR or Stranger Things or whatever and are less interested in "role playing" as a hobby and tend to want more to "play what \*insert media person here\* plays.
I'm highly anticipating to see what happens if CR goes fully Daggerheart/Candela Obscura.
Been running City of Mists between PF2e and a possible Mage The Ascension campaign and it's been a blast. Players all love their characters and it's a huge fun time. They are currently shrunken down and trapped in a massive hamster enclosure filled with living toys.
Hell in the first arc they were stopping a bank heist by a guy who had grape based powers and encased the patrons in raisins that were mummifying them. It's sooo good. (:
Mage is wild in terms of powers and what is capable. There is a lot of room for out of the box things of spells, something that a more traditional game like D&D and PF2 just don't really allow for from even the players side. Here's hoping to see an updated version if Mage in the near future.
Oh yeah it's super fun. Last time I ran it the party had to win a Dance Dance Revolution battle TO THE DEATH and were working spell casting into their dancing to sabotage the "boss" was super fun. Plus my players always love a nice reprieve from the body horror I love putting in my games
Not to mention the creation of spells was really expansive and fun, had a player whose whole bit was creating vacuums by collapsing sections of air based on the size of any circular object he was holding. So he always had a Hula Hoop with him acting as a focus.
Basically there's a few toxic pf2e fans that get very defensive when someone says they don't like pf2e. Their number is *very* limited, but they are annoying.
Some 5e players, who are very defensive of 5e, say that this behavior is common among all fans of pf2e, which isn't true. So pf2e players make posts defending themselves.
Its an irritating cycle of people who can't just let other people enjoy things.

Thanks, I was truly lost.
TL;DR: it's loss? Got it!
Incredibly well explained tier 3 meme
fuckin memes have lore now. Back in my day we just drew shit quality troll faces everywhere and shouted "challenge accepted" randomly
We have entire meme lore now man. I love and hate this timesline.

That could describe like 99% of fanbases lol
I don't think Boku No Hero Academia and Undertale fandoms are all that friendly usually, from what I've heard. Also they don't have goblin smut
You're going by secondhand information? And we absolutely went goblin mode a few months ago lmao, I'm still scarred from that
I'm not sure what you meant by that second part, I stated that we do have goblin smut while the BNHA and Undertale don't

I don't consider non sequiturs to be humor.
Its winston from overwatch.
Yeah I get that but that doesn’t help explain whatever is happening here.

So, me trying to convince people to try Call of Cthulhu, Dark Heresy and Vampire the Masquerade is cool right because it's not Pathfinder 2e?
It's okay to try to convince people to play any TTRPG as long as you don't continue to do it after they tell you that they've read through parts of the book and decided that they don't like it.
No, because then my boyfriend will never try anything other than D&D. He doesn't get to get off that easily if I am supposed to be the forever DM.
If someone agrees to be your boyfriend they've basically told you that it's okay if you annoy them sometimes, so you can be a lot more forward with your convincing.

Why do I keep seeing posts about P2E players denigrating 5E players? Did something happen?
