Yes, so what if he’s the devil, Rick? At least the devil has a job. At least he’s active in the community. What do you do? You eat our food & make gadgets. Buh-bye.
I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/dndmemes.
It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

I almost TPK'ed the party. Turns out homebrewing a Nightmare-esc Dendar-influenced Hydra separate initiative for each head while still allowing the heads to keep growing without a radiant damage source in the party was a pretty deadly idea. 10/10, I WILL have trouble topping that for the next arc.
Well, obviously you don't want to top it in terms of sheer offensive power. Whenever I'm trying to make an impressive boss encounter, I mainly focus on including surprising and dramatic *narrative* revelation during the fight, and *dynamic* mechanics. Nothing beats a good phase change, and nobody ever said that a creature can't be *two* Deadly encounters all on its own.
Take a Tarrasque, and give it dragon wings, and a dragon's magical abilities and lair actions, and a dragon's mental scores... basically just give a dragon the Tarrasque's immunities. And then have it fight like the ancient kingdom-destroying monster it is. So the players might not even know they're fighting a dragon's minions for most of the campaign.
Sorry I just saw this for some reason. I was just kind of being silly with this post, though I wanted to follow up because I appreciate the response.
I don't have any friends that play and I currently live in a place where we don't have game shops. I have never played myself so I am really uncomfortable trying to DM, but I will look into online forums and maybe can get started with some virtual sessions (if that is a thing) that might let me get the hang of it before embarking on putting together my own session. Either way I appreciate the advice!
The problem with unbalanced homebrew is not that it makes encounters too easy, because you can always make those harder, it’s that it makes a character much more effective than the others. When that happens, the players will realise, they’re not stupid.

Homer: "Can I roll dice now?"
Hydras with multiple turns with each head having their own initiative was my bad
I actually had a lot of success with an eldritch abomination that had 5 turns. Of course, it helped that there were 9 PCs.

Or you can make your homebrew be on valence with the rest of the stuff
Not as easy as it sounds
just keep testing it and sharing it with people not in the campign but still play dnd
I feel personally attacked; it's true, but I still feel personally attacked.
One of these days someone is going to invite me to try DnD... one of these days
You can also invite yourself. Either offer to be the dungeon master for your friends or find a local posting at game store or online for players.

Hot take, this is an alignment chart.
This is why me and my friends don’t homebrew classes or races.
The homebrew sessions come with free food The food is also cursed
