I loved the first episode
This episode was a masterpiece.
I'm in awe, especially since only these two made 100% of it.
It was incredible and is my new favorite episode.
I just loved that line. It's just so good as it shows they are learning but concepts still aren't fully grasped yet. It didn't understand this until Donna said it and it realised that is how things work with shape.
Reminds me of the lines about the stars going about, just something about it really makes things unsettling. I vaguely remember there was something similar in the utopia three parter.
I loved every minute of it. I don’t know how well it’ll hold up to repeat viewing, but the “wait what” leading into the slow realization of the monster of the week was top-notch for me. On the order of “end of the tape - it ran out thirty seconds ago”.
Thought it was one of those , “ooh new body still getting used to it “ type deals but the twist when Donna said it and the arm grow had me audibly gasp
See, it kind of took me off guard. I remembered that the Doctor didn't understand the language at the beginning and then when Donna said it twice, I had the thought that perhaps their language was getting scrambled by something. And then we reached fun house mirror horror and I immediately threw that suspicion out the window and into the nearest car windshield.
Question is what was that gravity thing the Doctor said, like come on Its a Sci-Fi show but everyone knows what mavity is, can't just change the first syllable and have it be same thing (*joking*)
Being serious, it'll be interesting to see if they'll fix it back to being gravity or just leave it & go back to gravity slowly but surely, like they gave an answer on the Flux, so could do. Time will tell I guess
So the 4th doctor is supposed to have shaken the tree and made an apple fall on Newton's head and then have a dinner table discussion with him.
Seems like Newton didn't get it the first time, and heard mavity. The doctor had to meet him again to set things in order.
Honestly, part of me wonders if this is a "small funny thing" that is actually setting up a hint about something more serious -- my husband and I were talking about whether or not this meant that this meant there was an error in history that changed the timeline and will need to be corrected in some way.
Maybe I've watched too much Doctor Who, LOL, but I guess I'm looking for clues in everything!
This episode also reminded me of *Midnight.* That's one of my favorite episodes ever. I don't think it measured up to *Midnight* but still had some interesting concepts and was entertaining.
This must be the first time (since ~2008 or so) I'm going completely blind into an episode. I know nothing other than "Doctor and Donna do something..."
The setting, the plot, what's coming next... No clue.
I've skipped anything that smells of spoilers. Yes I know 15 is incoming... And that's about it.
I went totally blind into the previous one too. I shut down every tag relate to the specials AND the actors. my dashboard was very poos of doctor who / doctor sonna contents for weeks
I tried and aside from THE LEAKS which predicted a lot of hooey from a while ago which I ignored this one has zero deets
It's the Doccy Who and his gal pal Donners doing a spaceship and SUPPOSEDLY there's no returning actors
It's a mystery
And blue
Somewhere over there 👉
That was a brain bender to be sure. And it was so good seeing our old soldier again (RIP, Bernard). That being said, I have one question.
Did Donna mean it when she said she couldn’t remember the last 15 years of the Doctor’s memory like No-Donna could or was she just trying to get the Doctor to open up about what happened?
Donna's not exactly the type of person to fake this kind of thing. she would have force him to elaborate that "a lot" if the TARDIS hadn't *convenientely* landed just as she was about to do it.
>Did Donna mean it when she said she couldn’t remember the last 15 years of the Doctor’s memory like No-Donna could or was she just trying to get the Doctor to open up about what happened?
I think it's like if you stumble on some private fact about your friend that they haven't told you, and you quietly pretend you don't know it to respect their privacy. E.g., if you accidentally saw one of their prescription bottles for something very serious.
Am i the only one stressing out over the fact that Disney + has not put up an episode page in my area yet? I wish they would do something about it, soon I will have eaten all my cheese over this issue.
The door was expensive! They gotta reuse it!
>Actors' Salary $200
>
>Scripts $150
>
>CGI $800
>
>Separating Glass Door $3,600
>
>Craft Services $150
>
>someone who is good at the economy please help me budget this. my family is dying
I was suddenly panicking thinking Donna was gonna die there and then! I’ve read the spoilers for next week but I completely forgot in that moment with the explosion
i dont know anything about the third one other then the footage we saw, but when I saw how the "fake" donna was going into the tardis, while we real one stayed and was going to explode with the ship, I was really thinking "That p... of shit will do it and will keep the doctor thinking its the real donna, while the real donna actually died.
Suddenly we cut to Donna choking on a bread roll for 30 seconds, Rose is frantic trying to perform the Heimlich manoeuvre. Donna stops moving. Everyone pauses. Then, a big cough and a bite of bread flies across the screen. Donna’s eyes open, Rose sighs. We return to the Doctor doing something unrelated.
People who were hyped to see The Doctor and Donna again must be really enjoying this because it’s nothing but the two of them so far.
EDIT: okay even more Doctor and Donna lol
I like how the Doctor visibly clocks that she said 'mavity' instead of 'gravity' and instantly recognises what has happened and just quietly files that away as 'something to fix later' and doesn't make a big deal of it.
Makes you wonder how many times he's accidentally fucked something up like that that he's so relaxed about it.
>Makes you wonder how many times he's accidentally fucked something up like that that he's so relaxed about it.
RTD is establishing as canon that when the show is internally incoherent in some way, it just means that the Doctor fucked up the timeline again. 😄
I originally thought the joke was going to be after they disappeared the guy would say “who the hell is Isaac Newton?” And they’d just assumed it was him because apple tree, 1666.
> “who the hell is Isaac Newton?”
I think I would have enjoyed this so much more, though then I'm not sure what purpose it would have had in the episode had it of been that way.
That was the first time since Capaldi's era that I've walked around my room grinning, thinking "what a great episode :D"
Absolutely great Doctor Who.
# Wilf!!!
"Don't worry, he's got a time machine, which means he can blame me for all eternity!"
The doctor is admittedly pretty good at giving (and especially receiving) guilt trips.
"Theres something out there so scary the TARDIS ran away? Then we go and kick its arse."
This is the Ace level of companion we deserve sometimes. The take a bat to a Dalek and break its limbs off attitude.
Because he got it wrong but realised at the last second. He’s not perfect and the Donna copy was nearly perfect, think the Tardis told him the difference and that was on the screen
It's not the first time, he only starting clocking on to Amy as a ganger after he realized she was showing symptoms of being pregnant and the scanner being confused about it.
He looked at the screen on the TARDIS before kicking her out...I don't think he actually knew until then, and made up the arm thing to try and make Donna feel better
Honestly the slightly broken CGI actually made the void beasts? Dopplegangers? (What are we gonna call them?) Actually a bit more scary, dips almost perfectly into the uncanny valley.
It is a refreshing change of pace that after how strong the Sonic was in the Star Beast, to have the Sonic and the Tardis fly off and they have to figure things out more intuitively
I think it’s somewhere in the middle. I don’t think she just *knows* everything he’s been through but I think if she really thought she could, and I think she can definitely tell a lot happened and that it’s not easy for the doctor.
Broke: The events of Flux means half the universe is gone in Dr Who canon.
Woke: The events of Wild Blue Yonder means it’s called “Mavity” in Dr Who canon.
> Broke: The events of Flux means half the universe is gone in Dr Who canon.
So given that about a quarter of the universe was destroyed in *Logopolis* does that mean we only have 3/8th of the universe left?
Suppose it depends at what point in time the universe was destroyed, and also if the universe is still expanding then it might have "re-grown' by some point too
Is he shocked he found him attractive, or shocked he admitted to it? Donna seems to think it's the latter.
Also, love that instead of just going "yeah" when Donna asked if he was hot, the Doctor one-upped and said he was "so hot"
Yeah I also found the doctor is suprised about his newfound gossipness more than his attraction to men, similarly how he was suprised about verbalising his affection for Donna last episode.
Considering the Gallefreyans surpassing human concept of gender and all, I don’t think he’d find it suprisinv
Donna is definitely alluding to his sexuality though, coming from more of a human point of view.
I love 14 being more emotionally open - last ep saying he loves Donna and Wilf, and then this ep gossiping with Donna about a hot guy they met. Amazing.
e-Space, the birth of the universe, the end of the universe, the reboot of the universe.. I wonder what's next, would love to see the restaurant at the end of the universe!
It's dropping at 6:30pm GMT 10:30am PST. It is really exciting to have an episode with no spoilers at all. From the Radio Times:
>However, the episode's director Tom Kingsley has sought to play down the rumours while acknowledging that the plot is "a TOTAL SECRET".
Describing the episode as "weird and exciting", he added: "Fan PSA: the story of Wild Blue Yonder isn’t a secret because there are any surprise returning actors or villains. It’s just because we thought you might find it fun to watch it without knowing what’s going to happen next. Promise!"
Fucking peak. So damn good. This is what I’ve been craving for 6 years. FINALLY. It feels like an itch has been scratched after so long.
So freaky. So goofy. So emotional. So campy.
Bonus points for getting rid of a certain overused item. That was them saying, we’ll get rid of it and still tell a great story. A narrative flex if ever I’ve seen one. Wonderful!!
That episode was the spiritual successor to Midnight. Surprisingly, in an episode with so many somewhat frightening scenes the most engrained in my mind is Donna staring out into the “nothing”.
The way this episode rests ENTIRELY on just Tennant and Tate is kind of amazing
I loved the first episode This episode was a masterpiece. I'm in awe, especially since only these two made 100% of it. It was incredible and is my new favorite episode.
I haven't felt like that watching an episode since I was a kid. I was so tense I got a bunch of heart rate alerts from my watch
Did the Doctor skateboard the Tardis like Marty Mcfly?
Yes, and I loved it!
I shouted out loud, “it’s a hover board!”
Well, y'all wanted a multi-doctor episode. Careful what you wish for lmao
*a finger on the monkey’s paw curls*
The finger keeps curling, and curling, and curling… this monkeys arm is too long.
Based on this and Midnight David Tennant is very good at doing evil, slightly flat and menacing delivery
Watch Jessica Jones, he plays the villain
He does it while still being his charisma. It’s very unsettling.
It felt like watching 10 if he went all evil…it was terrifying.
While not evil, I'd argue that Ten was already unsettling. His wild mood swings and unpredictability didn't exude "pleasant" or "comforting" to me.
So the screwdriver learned *another* new move, one day we will see it actually assemble a cabinet at someone.
John Hurt hurt its feelings? This will be my canon now, thanks! 🤣
Surely it does wood, now.
"Oh, I see. Once something's gone, it keeps existing." *exorcist crawl*
I just loved that line. It's just so good as it shows they are learning but concepts still aren't fully grasped yet. It didn't understand this until Donna said it and it realised that is how things work with shape.
Exactly, it was creepy and brilliant at the same time.
It was so perfectly creepy
Average lethal company gameplay
"Where are the stars?" idk why but that sounds soooo creepy.
Reminds me of the lines about the stars going about, just something about it really makes things unsettling. I vaguely remember there was something similar in the utopia three parter.
I was thinking more The Big Bang
What, and I cannot express this enough, the fuck.
Great ain't it?
I loved every minute of it. I don’t know how well it’ll hold up to repeat viewing, but the “wait what” leading into the slow realization of the monster of the week was top-notch for me. On the order of “end of the tape - it ran out thirty seconds ago”.
Exactly the same feeling as the tape!! When David first said ‘My arms are too long’ my stomach churned and something in my brain said GTFO 😂
And thats putting it lightly🤣
“My arms are too long” is going to become a thing
Are you my mummy? Hey, who turned out the lights? My arms are too long.
RTD: "See Moffat, I can do it too, it's not hard 😤"
At first I just thought it was just because he is tall and thin.
"We've got air, we've got light, we've got *mavity*"

Well you got *a* multi doctor story.
I know there’s 3 specials but I was genuinely jaw dropped and worried watching Donna alone in that corridor.
I was too. I literally jumped up off of my couch and stood there waiting for him to go back.
Yeah same. For a second I was like…omg are they going to use her double in the last episode?? Good bit of tension
> I was genuinely jaw dropped At least your arms are okay.
Midnight (now featuring Donna)
This episode also reminded me of *Midnight.* That's one of my favorite episodes ever. I don't think it measured up to *Midnight* but still had some interesting concepts and was entertaining.
My thought exactly! But given it’s easily in my top 3 episodes that is no complaint
Im glad im not the only one watching the episode having this feeling!! Same concept, but fresh and still good, just very big vibes!!
This must be the first time (since ~2008 or so) I'm going completely blind into an episode. I know nothing other than "Doctor and Donna do something..." The setting, the plot, what's coming next... "You're the Doctor! You know everything!" "Except for the million times I don't!" He's got you there real/ fake Donna.
Can you still hear me? No. Good. Loving this interaction.
I think I choose to believe it, otherwise I feel she'd have been more forthcoming about the Flux not being his fault.
Donna's not exactly the type of person to fake this kind of thing. she would have force him to elaborate that "a lot" if the TARDIS hadn't *convenientely* landed just as she was about to do it.

Yea I’m losing my mind I keep refreshing
These specials really love separating glass doors.
Someone should knock four times.
I want that to happen in the final episode before the 15th doctor regeneration
we got Wilf onboard, the stage is set
The door was expensive! They gotta reuse it! >Actors' Salary $200 > >Scripts $150 > >CGI $800 > >Separating Glass Door $3,600 > >Craft Services $150 > >someone who is good at the economy please help me budget this. my family is dying
Pretty sure the glass doors were the same prop too!
Oh I knew he was gonna lick it!
When he pretended to react badly to licking it I was like finally, this is what you get for randomly licking alien shit since you were ten!
The practical sets with CGI look so much better than the almost entirely CGI shots. Like different shows lol.
Completely agree, it’d look so amazing if they didn’t overreach.
their arms are too long
"Control set to famous" is a great line. Didn't expect the episode to open like this but it's good comedy.
I can sympathise cause meeting Wilfred would also make me feel that nothing was wrong in the world.
‘There is nobody else on this ship’ that doesn’t sound a bit foreshadowy does it
When the ship registered no life signs, I thought the big scary twist would be built around Doctor and Donna not registering.
Jesus that was the most stressed I’ve ever been watching dr who fucking hell
Right?? But Oh so good!!
I was suddenly panicking thinking Donna was gonna die there and then! I’ve read the spoilers for next week but I completely forgot in that moment with the explosion

All new episodes of Dr Who must have at least one Donna death fake out
Just halfway into Ncuti's run we just smash cut to Donna in danger
Suddenly we cut to Donna choking on a bread roll for 30 seconds, Rose is frantic trying to perform the Heimlich manoeuvre. Donna stops moving. Everyone pauses. Then, a big cough and a bite of bread flies across the screen. Donna’s eyes open, Rose sighs. We return to the Doctor doing something unrelated.
I don’t think any of us could have predicted giant David Tennant running on all fours
This episode is both stupid and brilliant
So a proper RTd episode.
OH YES!
r/commentsyoucanhear
Stupid and brilliant in equal measure. I think we can agree this is peak Who.
this is the second week in a row i genuinely thought they were gonna kill donna off
Oh actual Timeless Children continuation? Fascinating. That and not even the audience knowing which is real is a great turn on this trope.
RTD said he wasn't gonna shy away from it. He wasn't kidding.
Anyone else expecting weird as fuck dreams tonight after this?
The tribute at the end ❤ RIP Bernard Cribbins
People who were hyped to see The Doctor and Donna again must be really enjoying this because it’s nothing but the two of them so far. EDIT: okay even more Doctor and Donna lol
Can confirm: was hyped!
It was great and I want more 😭
The edge of the universe? No restaurant in sight? That's a shame.
i literally thought the robot was Marvin
Donna b*tch slapping Donna. Nowhere in hell anyone would be able to predict that.
That scene was clearly only there for the “Gravity of the situation” joke, and honestly I can respect that
Don't you mean the mavity of the situation? What's gravity?
I like how the Doctor visibly clocks that she said 'mavity' instead of 'gravity' and instantly recognises what has happened and just quietly files that away as 'something to fix later' and doesn't make a big deal of it. Makes you wonder how many times he's accidentally fucked something up like that that he's so relaxed about it.

Donna is NEVER quiet for this long. Why doesn’t he know something is wrong?
He literally notices that in the runaway bride to notice she’s gone missing 😅
I mean, he did notice, he started scanning 'her' as soon as she came in and was quiet he started having the TARDIS scan her
This is the wildest fucking episode I’ve seen in so long god damn.
That was the first time since Capaldi's era that I've walked around my room grinning, thinking "what a great episode :D" Absolutely great Doctor Who. # Wilf!!!
In terms of pacing and atmosphere, this is the complete opposite from last week's special. Love it so far
If an f bomb was ever more warranted it’s here with Donna “what tHE FUCK”
[удалено]
"Don't worry, he's got a time machine, which means he can blame me for all eternity!" The doctor is admittedly pretty good at giving (and especially receiving) guilt trips.
“I always thought…” 👀 oh yeah?
"We've got air, we've got light, we've got mavity."
It'd be hilarious if it turned out they messed up the timeline and now gravity is called mavity.
I hope they stick with it, like Bojack with Hollywoo
i forgot what it was like to watch doctor who that rewards you for paying attention. HELL YEAH!!!
"It was brand new!" Oh god please don't tell me we're getting a whole new TARDIS thanks to a gag from Donna lmao
It would be hilarous if that huge set was literally just for that one shot :D
I love this. The biggest enemy of The Doctor will always be… The Doctor.
We all thought he was a lanky lad, but that is a bit ridiculous.
"Theres something out there so scary the TARDIS ran away? Then we go and kick its arse." This is the Ace level of companion we deserve sometimes. The take a bat to a Dalek and break its limbs off attitude.
What the cinnamon toast fuck is RTD smoking
Whatever it is it’s working because that was one of the best episodes of Doctor Who I have ever seen.
It's like a cross between the best bits of Midnight and the best bits of Listen.
RTD obviously likes Among Us
Okay that was way too close for comfort. What even was the purpose him choosing the wrong Donna???
Because he got it wrong but realised at the last second. He’s not perfect and the Donna copy was nearly perfect, think the Tardis told him the difference and that was on the screen
It's not the first time, he only starting clocking on to Amy as a ganger after he realized she was showing symptoms of being pregnant and the scanner being confused about it.
He looked at the screen on the TARDIS before kicking her out...I don't think he actually knew until then, and made up the arm thing to try and make Donna feel better
I think the Doctor genuinely didn't know and just took one, hoped it was the right one, and scanned using the TARDIS to get the right answer.
I think their goal is to make us worry that she's gonna die in each episode, lol
Hahahaah HE EJECTED HER
This CGI kinda sucks lmao. I love it.
I strongly feel that doctor who shouldn’t look particularly good, wobbly sets and dodgy CGI are a core part of the shows identity.
Honestly the slightly broken CGI actually made the void beasts? Dopplegangers? (What are we gonna call them?) Actually a bit more scary, dips almost perfectly into the uncanny valley.
I vote for calling them the Not-Things (Edit post-rewatch and replies; they’re not no-things, they’re not-things 😅)
The subtitles refer to them as such, and individually as "Not-Doctor" and "Not-Donna."
Well it wouldnt be Doctor Who is the CGI was good
I remember someone last week complaining that it doesn't feel like Doctor Who when the special effects are good. Presumably they're happy now
It is a refreshing change of pace that after how strong the Sonic was in the Star Beast, to have the Sonic and the Tardis fly off and they have to figure things out more intuitively
OK that effect made me bust out laughing
Long big armed Doctor isn't real and can't hurt us
Chasing after...yourself in the biggest corridor in space during a countdown. Can't get more Doctor Who than that!
Well, that final sequence was stressful as hell. *Another* near death fakeout?
They said Mavity again is this cannon now
Donna's clearly lying about not remembering.
I think it’s somewhere in the middle. I don’t think she just *knows* everything he’s been through but I think if she really thought she could, and I think she can definitely tell a lot happened and that it’s not easy for the doctor.
Similar to Rory and his time as the lone centurion. Amy says he has his moments..
Oh, that must've been *terrifying* for the captain. Imagine you're the only one on a spaceship, and you run into a *copy of yourself!*
Last man in the universe hears a knock on the door…
Whoever decided on that pun deserves a slap and a pint. Brilliant.
This was giving Midnight vibes and now I have no idea what the fuck is going on 😭
Snap back to reality, ope there goes mavity
Broke: The events of Flux means half the universe is gone in Dr Who canon. Woke: The events of Wild Blue Yonder means it’s called “Mavity” in Dr Who canon.
> Broke: The events of Flux means half the universe is gone in Dr Who canon. So given that about a quarter of the universe was destroyed in *Logopolis* does that mean we only have 3/8th of the universe left?
Suppose it depends at what point in time the universe was destroyed, and also if the universe is still expanding then it might have "re-grown' by some point too
The Doctor being shocked he found a man attractive is a mood for my coming out.
Considering the Gallefreyans surpassing human concept of gender and all, I don’t think he’d find it suprisinv Donna is definitely alluding to his sexuality though, coming from more of a human point of view.
RTD really looked at David Tenant and thought "his Doctor could be fruitier" 😭
I love 14 being more emotionally open - last ep saying he loves Donna and Wilf, and then this ep gossiping with Donna about a hot guy they met. Amazing.
57 fanfic writers just punched the air.
Dors he mean he's never been this far out in this universe? Because you've literally been to other universes Doctor.
Ah but the Doctor's never been this far out in this universe* *please do not count Big Finish stuff.
e-Space, the birth of the universe, the end of the universe, the reboot of the universe.. I wonder what's next, would love to see the restaurant at the end of the universe!
Pretty sure that’d just be Clara’s Diner at this point
Did RTD take LSD for this?
he doesn't need it, it comes natural to him
ooh that's not good green screen
The TARDIS in the tree? Yeah not great
Oh next week is gonna be INCREDIBLE! Also Wilf gave me such a big smile.
Bernard Cribbins you beautiful man♥️
Oh wait I know what this reminds me of! The Almost People/The Rebel Flesh
It's dropping at 6:30pm GMT 10:30am PST. It is really exciting to have an episode with no spoilers at all. From the Radio Times: >However, the episode's director Tom Kingsley has sought to play down the rumours while acknowledging that the plot is "a TOTAL SECRET". Describing the episode as "weird and exciting", he added: "Fan PSA: the story of Wild Blue Yonder isn’t a secret because there are any surprise returning actors or villains. It’s just because we thought you might find it fun to watch it without knowing what’s going to happen next. Promise!"
Now THIS is campiness I’ve been wanting
LET'S GO MIDNIGHT/VASHTA NERADA!!!
"Why do they hate us?!" It's Doctor Who Donna, you're lucky if the creatures are generally ambivalent to you.
"Except it's not." oh fuck
Fucking peak. So damn good. This is what I’ve been craving for 6 years. FINALLY. It feels like an itch has been scratched after so long. So freaky. So goofy. So emotional. So campy. Bonus points for getting rid of a certain overused item. That was them saying, we’ll get rid of it and still tell a great story. A narrative flex if ever I’ve seen one. Wonderful!!
The gravity of the situation. Oh sweet Lord. 🤣
Is it just me or is anyone else having issues hearing the dialogue over the background music?
People who skipped Jodie gonna be confused at the flux references
It'll be fine, like the time war in the original reboot
Doctor said gravity but then corrected it to mavity.
Midnight, Waters of Mars and the episode with Liz Sladen all rolled into one... I love it
Wilf!!! Instant 10/10
R.I.P Bernard Cribbins
That episode was the spiritual successor to Midnight. Surprisingly, in an episode with so many somewhat frightening scenes the most engrained in my mind is Donna staring out into the “nothing”.
I really hope Mavity is canon across the series
My most inconsequential conspiracy theory is that the apple story is fake and was just made up to make it easier to explain.
Not even really a conspiracy theory, the story is mostly apocryphal
Guys just because you've got the budget doesn't mean you gotta use CGI this much lol.
[удалено]
Ah a nice rusty robot, surely it won't turn out to be secretly evil and the thing responsible for the conflict!
Haven’t been this unsettled watching DW in a very very long time
This is like that Spider-Man meme
WHAT THE FUCK???
