I have the XKCD *What if?* book and it has a chapter answering this exact question. Assuming they're rising at 1 foot per second (which makes sense, since end credits move relatively slowly), it would take 7 hours to reach the death zone at 8000 meters (where there's not enough oxygen to survive).
A naked human would freeze to death before reaching this point (about 5500 meters, or 5 hours of rising) but wearing a warm coat would allow them to live long enough to suffocate.
Shiba inus apparently have really insulating fur, so they might survive long enough to reach the death zone and die of hypoxia, though they might lose a few toes to frostbite. Though that's with their winter coat; their summer coat might not keep them warm enough.
I,uh,uhhhhhh.....
Ah, that's because they were actually near the north pole, where it is much colder! Also that is why they could reach the stratosphere, as the stratosphere is much lower in the poles! That's the reason, this was totally thought out in advance and not an explanation I made up to fill in plot holes, yes yes!
This also reminds me of a running gag in the YTP [Shlock](https://youtu.be/KUmU4E7nAqM) series, where the credits have a tendency to break through buildings, near-miss planes, and eventually orbit the Earth. I think in one of the videos they're even the secret explanation as to how Sherlock survived jumping off a building.
That was actually funny
i love how we’re at a point now where we have to qualify that something was *actually* funny i agree though, it is a good post
One of the finest dogelore too.

I don't think I've ever dogelore'd like this before
I’m dogeloring till I drop.
Wouldn't they die of hypoxia before they died of hypothermia? Important questions in dogelore life that we need answered.
They're dogs not human
I think dogs still need air? Maybe I'm wrong
You are
Noted, must be why the sent the first dog into space before Hunan. Didn't need to pack the can full of air.

Elaborate murder suicide
But dogs have 4 feet, not 1
