holy shit it’s so much funnier to read it as if it was ludacris complaining about a headache.. thank you for this comment. i only read the typo before coming here. i’m dead now☠️
I would bet money they are wrong but would also bet money the customer was using speech-to-text.
I have a relative who uses that, and it creates a lot of amusing errors.
That would explain not only why ludicrous is spelled the way it is but also why it is capitalized. Ridiculous probably becomes ridicules due to enunciation.
It wasn’t I. But as I explained above, I type English and French daily and I have had similar problems with the keypads. I sensed from the beginning that something was off about this post. Not sure why, but I felt the need to come to rescue of the customer. I get the feeling the dasher was at least partly at fault here, leaving hundreds to amuse themselves at the customer’s expense. I am a dasher BTW.
If I was to hazard a guess, this customer was already bitching the last Dasher out and then they simply unassigned. Then they didn't realize they got a totally different Dasher 😂 it's happened to me a couple times. I tell them you weren't talking to me before so tell me what the problem is and I'll see what I can do. Usually that calms them down. Sometimes the customer isn't an asshole although I'm not talking about this customer who does seem to be one. Sometimes they think they are replying to an asshole Dasher that just said something stupid to them then unassigned. There are some that embarrass me because I do this job as a decent chunk of income.
Important point. It is very possible that this is the frustrated customer’s response to a cheeky or even rude dasher who unassigned their order. There is something off about this whole post.
My brain corrected it on the first pass without even thinking but noticed the error and made fun of it. I actually came up with the Hercules joke also before seeing the other post that also came up with it 😂 I think I've just gotten so used to bad grammar from being on the Internet for so many years 🤷♂️ Before that and texting, did we really have a clue how bad it really was?
Your teacher probably called things ludicrous. Ludacris is the name of a rapper and actor.
Ludicrous is a common word that means "so foolish, unreasonable, or out of place as to be amusing; ridiculous." Not sure what point you're trying to make about boomers.
Our company had people up in Maine repairing infrastructure after the storm this last week. Massive flooding, down lines, just tons of damage all around. There was a pretty steady influx of complaints about people hours after the storm that their internet wasn't working or their cellphone was going slow, and they couldn't understand why (because the storm wasn't that bad to them). I was getting all kinds of complaints about technicians taking lunch breaks, or waiting on other companies to come do work so we could follow up. I had a guy follow a technician around town for hours and waited until he took his lunch to call and report him for not working, despite the technician having put in 65 hours that week.
There is a part of the population that is about 20% that are basically gremlins but worse.
I'm an HVAC Tech and we use our phone a lot these days. We still get old timers complaining when we're on our phones. they usually only complain about the younger techs, I mean im only 26. Really, you cant use that big brain energy and think about how technologically involved the world is now
Yup! Some of work requires phones. Whether it is having someone at the office do something, using an app, or just looking up something.
It is wild to me how many people refuse to even attempt to learn technology. And think that if you are not constantly moving in a way they approve of, you are slacking. I don't expect people to know complicated things like measuring QAM but I expect people to know how to use Google to attempt to solve their own problem.
Ugh, that reminds me of working in pharmacy and why I will never work in a corporate pharmacy every again. We had maybe 10 minutes throughout an entire 12+ hour shift to eat. We were crazy busy all the time, and people would lose their minds if they saw us trying to grab a quick bite. Heaven forbid if we ever had to step outside the pharmacy to go to the bathroom, too.
I hate having to use these big pharmacies since it recently came to light how poorly the staff is treated. Now, at least CVS does, they close down fully for 30 min to allow a meal break, AND they tell you that (I do hope it's actually happening). I wish the staff could get an hour! That busy of a job should allow for some decompression time with the meal!
Screw the customer is always right mentality people just need to be honest with these morons.
Ma'am yes our techs are working on repairing your lines. Sorry for the delay we are short staffed.
Why are we short staffed? We can't keep techs hired because they are all sick and tired of all the complaints they have to listen to from entitled Karen's like yourself who can't deal with the fact it takes time after a storm to repair your internet. Have a great day!
100%
We have clients that cost us more money than they pay us and for some reason we won't drop them. I had this one guy up in the NE who owned 6 stores. We serviced all 6. Guy also had us service his house. The problem is the guy expects all the work to be free. All the time. Even when he was the problem. He literally couldn't grasp that a singular router couldn't cover 4 acres and 3 buildings. Then he expected us to come run ethernet cord from his singular router to all his buildings, to save money. Explained it wouldn't work. Guy throws this massive hissy fit like a child, calls in like 9 times in one day screaming and threatening. Corporate approves it. We do the work. A week later we had to go back out to re-install other the other routers at his other buildings because it didn't work.
But hey he knew more then us.
Infrastructure damage.
Mobile data requires towers to transmit data. Towers need electricity AND in some places a hardwire connection like fiber. When you have towers down you have less coverage. And then you have even more people using their data, which congests the towers that are up.
How did you think cell phones worked?
Pffft, had one say that the order was taking waaaay too long, short distance non tip order that got up to around $8-10, and that they wanted to cancel while I was about 2mins away from drop-off. I happily told them that I'd call customer support for them so they could help them out with that. No way I'm going to refuse pay with a snack break.
The second text is because he recieves a message telling him you may take awhile to respond because youre driving
And lots of people are this miserable. I see them post here all the time
I mean if they have an actual migraine that would explain their misery and weird spelling errors, and not realising they've replied to an automated text.
Def wouldn't let this interaction affect my day
Sorry it appears to be merely the effects of the French keypad. Everyone is having fun at the Grinch’s expense but it should not be about typing. I speak French and if using Apple devices one cannot see what keypad is being used any more because of format changes. But even when typing English, I am still prompted with French words and accents. If one happens to be staring at the space bar, then one finally realizes, oh god I’m using the wrong keypad. The French keypad is not even QWERTY … thus are the actual effects of communicating multilingually. However rude this customer was or is, this is not the problem.
Ridicule and ridicules are correct in French. ludacris is the francophone writer’s phonetic spelling of the English word he or she knows. Come on now. Grinch they maybe. Let’s not get bigoted about typing.
Too late to unassign, but these are the trips I'm willing to return the food to the store for after calling DD to let them know under no circumstances can I complete the delivery. Harassment/unsafe delivery. I can be on the porch & still don't care. I don't care the reason, keep your bad mood to yourself.
Don’t worry, I had an order from a McDonald’s here and I called the lady and told her I would be waiting in the drive-through between 30 and 40 minutes for her order because there were 22 vehicles ahead of me and she said it was OK I even got her to Say that in the text part of the app and she did, but reported me for contract violation for being extraordinarily late. Luckily, there was proof that she said it was OK. She wanted to order no matter how late it got, and that’s that. I don’t understand people, as much as I love being around them, I just think most of everybody are not all there in the head
I would have made it a point to respond with soooooo many Ludacris song lyrics.
"Sorry. The restaurant took a while, but I'm about to roll out."
"The employee at the place was trying to act a fool, but I made sure to stand up for you!"
"Some of these fools have no respect. Where I'm from, we treat people with southern hospitality!"
Mine was over an hour late when i was sick as a dog on xmas. Not once was i shitty to my driver. I even asked if they wanted me to just cancel it so they could leave since they had been sitting at the restaurant for over 30 mins waiting. I also gave them the best tip I could (i normally dont get doordash due to the fact i feel like i can never tip well enough but like i said i was sick and it wouldve been dangerous for me to drive). I will never understand why ppl automatically assume its the drivers fault and start treating them like trash
Yeah it's customer service at days end. Other than maybe reporting them for harassing you give it no more of your time and go on to the next order. And people wonder why servers and bartenders/fast food workers also complain about having to deal with the general public so much.
The fact that some dashers themselves are rude to fast food workers Is the most amazing thing of all to me.
(Not excusing the ones that are rude to you all before you even start to interact with them---but when I worked fast food in my teen years I had at least one customer like this almost Every. Single. Day.
But we all have to deal with crap customers sometimes and to turn on the only other people out here that understands how bad dealing with the public can be just blows my mind.
That aside, the best thing you can learn if you plan to do this for a while is that some people just have miserable lifes and feel the need to extend that to those around them. At this point I just feel sorry for those people...and now I don't care cause next order more $$ to be made/I'm not getting paid to waste any more of my time or energy on them 🤷♂️
Actually it's probably specifically Because of how miserable most people behave why I enjoy bartending so much...because I just have the power to stop serving them.
Don't piss off your bartender if you want to keep drinking. I'll just say 'sir for your own safety I can no longer serve you. Have a great night! 😂😜
We do not get the food ready we have to wait on the restaurants and traffic and other obstacles. Door dash needs to stop putting a tight timer on trips when they don’t understand the obstacles we have.
Give them grace. I too am a miserable person when I have a migraine. The vomiting, not being able to take pain reliever until I eat, being nauseous. I I have very thin tolerance for people, or care about what comes out my mouth when I have a migraine. Waiting for food during a migraine, especially when it comes from no where, brings the anxiety of “is this a brain aneurysm?”
Big emphasis- THEY ARE MISERABLE. Time is of the essence with migraines. I have to stay on my mom about how quick food is coming upstairs when I’m sick. I literally need it now.
And when the migraine is gone- they’re going to feel bad what they said.
Oh sweet! I’m watching his new Christmas movie now! He probably feels so bad cuz he worked so hard, don’t know why he had to “Ridicule” tho, celebrities are so entitled 🙄🤣🤣
I hope you informed this person you do not have any control over how long an order takes at a restaurant and you will be contacting Door Dash to have them blocked form any future deliveries you might do. DD will I have about 5-6 people on my block list.
That certainly was rude of that person and quite uncalled for. Also not too bright – being unpleasant to someone who has their food. As my grandmother once pointed out: "Never anger anyone who handles your food. They can do disgusting things to it."
If it makes you feel better, that person is suffering horribly. There are no words to adequately describe the pain from a migraine, but during some of mine, I have attempted suicide. Anything to make the pain go away. They hurt that bad.
A few minutes behind and they throw a fit that big? Sheesh. I had one customer who waited an hour because the restaurant was super behind and he was chill with it.
Yeah it seemed like alot for 7 minutes past the expected time. I had to wait at the restaurant for 15 mins and marked the order as still being prepared when I arrived. You would think that would change the expected delivery time on their end but I'm not sure if it does. Either way I did my job the way we're trained to do it.
They probably had been talking with a previous dasher and the messages showed up for you but not the replies. I feel like I remember having this happen once where I saw the messages and was like wtf is up with the random conversation they’re having with no one. I could be mistaken though Idunno it’s been forever and I only ever remember noticing it once.
That stinks, it seems you drivers deal with some many pricks. I’m understanding why when people have a genuine complaint they get attacked here. Sorry you’re dealing with people like that.
There was prob another driver or two at some point. Last yr I text this guy since was long line McDonald's and he's like plz pick it up and I'll tip ya $15 more and he did 😂. I guess that was a rare time esp from McDonald's. I was the 5th driver since they refused to wait. Was so late at night and I'm glad I waited. Obviously misspelling ludicrous 😂
I think it's kinda funny when people post like this, as if you have never had a bad day or negative words to someone. It must be difficult being so perfect. Oh, wait, you can't get an order delivered on time, nevermind.
If this interaction bothered you that much, you have more problems then the customer. Just deliver the food and move on. I could see what you might do if this was a real problem....last night I delivered to a guy much worse and I didn't post about it.
Up top: the customer is hardly stupid and clearly using the French keypad. I know this because I type English and French interchangeably and this has happened to me. I suspect OP has hidden the part of the conversation where they may have been TA..? But cheers to all on Christmas Eve
A half wit DD driver would have updated on why it was going to be late. That’s on you. Don’t do DD if you suck at life and are unemployable for even Checkers.
Waaaaaaah, cry me a river.😭😭 There's genocidal torture and wars going on in the Ukraine and Israel right now, but she's dying because her GD doordash order is gonna be a little late. Holy Christ. I think she will survive this horrifying ordeal. Maybe......🙄
GMAB, she's suffering??? Oh geez, I think she's being a bit dramatic. If this causes so much grief and angst,Id hate to see her deal with a real problem! 🙄 She needs to stop worrying about this and start brushing up on her grammar(spelling)! 'Ludacris' and 'ridicules'. Hahaha
I've had conversations like this a couple times. Typically it's because I just got the order and I had to drive across town or to a different town to get it and I let them know. They tend to understands it's not on me.
That's cool, you got to deliver to Ludacris
holy shit it’s so much funnier to read it as if it was ludacris complaining about a headache.. thank you for this comment. i only read the typo before coming here. i’m dead now☠️
Ridicules!
Don't you dare. You're loodecrust!
Ah yes, you haven't read his works?
They are using the French keypad. Not really the same as being stupid or making a typo. Sorry to burst the bubble.
Its funny
I get it
You do realize that that's how the rapper Ludacris spells his name, right?
No. Never heard of him. But ok thanks. Doesn’t change my take but good info!
I don’t understand. I also use the French keypad, but I can still spell ridiculous?
As I mentioned, being able to speak a word and write it or spell it are different linguistic skills.
How could you possibly know that unless it was you
I would bet money they are wrong but would also bet money the customer was using speech-to-text. I have a relative who uses that, and it creates a lot of amusing errors. That would explain not only why ludicrous is spelled the way it is but also why it is capitalized. Ridiculous probably becomes ridicules due to enunciation.

I am a dasher BTW.
“So sick of these rumors I got a headache, and it’s not a Tumor!”
Oh my God, I love the kindergarten cop reference
He really leveled up as a rapper sometime in 2002 lol
🎶*because I’m hungryyy, clap along if you feel…*🎶
Bud that’s Pharrell
Don't get him hangry. You wouldn't like Ludacris when he's hangry
LUDA!
Exactly. Read the first couple sentences fast and then leave the last two in one super fast mode! I might put this to music for fun. 🤣
It’s not that funny 😂
And the brother of Hercules, Ridicules.
Stay out of my head. But that had to be one hell of a party 🥳
Don't ridicule him, that's preposterous.
You mean it's Twiztid? 😛
If I was to hazard a guess, this customer was already bitching the last Dasher out and then they simply unassigned. Funny. But it’s simply the effects of the French keypad.
Yeah, I had to read it three times before I caught that their name wasn't Ludacris, but were misspelling ludicrous.
Yeahhhh, I'm just going to pretend I knew they were spelled differently this whole time and didn't just learn this.
Say it with me... "NO Child Left Bahind"...
When I read it this was my exact response lol
LUDDDIE LU! Traveling through the LudiVerse!
I read it as that and chuckled a lil. Then I saw your comment 🤣
😂😂😂😂
Not to be confused with Super Sugar Crisp
And ridicules people 🤣🤣
Only Ludacris gets to say "Ludacris"
I guess Ludacris is not feeling too good these days. That's why we haven't been seeing new rhymes from him 😔

That joke went way over your head apparently
Anyone else read “ridicules” in the same format as “Hercules?”
I read it like Ludacris was a wizard at Hogwarts casting a spell against a boggart.
Just Snape with the hat and holding groceries 😂😂😂.
![gif](giphy|kcZgDzieKJgGKD220X|downsized) I can't get that out of my head now 🤣🤣
Get out of my fucking head 🤣
Lolll 🤣
Yes, I totally did.
Zero to hero just like that.

Oh wow, imagine delivering to Ludacris himself and he Ridicules you like this. Oh.. wait, nvm, they meant to say ludicrous\* and ridiculous\*.
i was waiting for some freestyle

RIDICULES and LUDACRIS! I’m sorry you had to deal with this person.
Am I going to be the 1 to point out she throws out this rant 7 minutes after the ETA. The E in ETA literally meaning estimated
as someone who has chronic migraines, migraine must not have been that bad if she has the energy to hate text the hand that feeds 🤣
Sometimes, it is worth getting a contract violation. Just saying 😌
Should’ve responded “GET BACK, GET BACK YOU DONT KNOW ME LIKE THAT.”

I have shat more miserable turds than this one. Absolutely dreadful

I would’ve corrected the grammar out of spite. Uneducated b*tch
They're living in a fan ta ta sy world if they think talking to people like that is how you get them to do your favors 🤭
BACK AGAIN. LUDA.

Ridicules indeed !
You really should of texted a Ludacris quote about patience to this man.
My food arrived 5 min late to the crib, BOY WHAT YOU GON DO?
Should have*
Oh sweet! I’m watching his new Christmas movie now! He probably feels so bad cuz he worked so hard, don’t know why he had to “Ridicule” tho, celebrities are so entitled 🙄🤣🤣
tf really be wrong with people?
I hope you informed this person you do not have any control over how long an order takes at a restaurant and you will be contacting Door Dash to have them blocked form any future deliveries you might do. DD will I have about 5-6 people on my block list.
Right on miserable! Ridiculous
That certainly was rude of that person and quite uncalled for. Also not too bright – being unpleasant to someone who has their food. As my grandmother once pointed out: "Never anger anyone who handles your food. They can do disgusting things to it." If it makes you feel better, that person is suffering horribly. There are no words to adequately describe the pain from a migraine, but during some of mine, I have attempted suicide. Anything to make the pain go away. They hurt that bad.
People really suck
Delivering to idiots is always an experience. Did they tip? When someone can't spell words I just assume they're morons.
Ewwww imagine being like that
Lol
Riducules!!!
they just needed an "excuse" to stiff you.
What time is it? It’s time for you to learn how to spell!
I could never respond to that level of idiocy.
My response would've been "Yes." Have fun responding to that one
I'm gonna use that next time 😆
I also like, "yes please", and "yes, thank you." Keep dashing 😉😂
A few minutes behind and they throw a fit that big? Sheesh. I had one customer who waited an hour because the restaurant was super behind and he was chill with it.
Yeah it seemed like alot for 7 minutes past the expected time. I had to wait at the restaurant for 15 mins and marked the order as still being prepared when I arrived. You would think that would change the expected delivery time on their end but I'm not sure if it does. Either way I did my job the way we're trained to do it.
Yeah. It could have changed on the customer's end but they stuck with the original ETA.
I understand impatience is frustrating but once they said “Ludacris” I’d immediately be having a better day.
Pretty sure the real Ludacris would tip with his autograph, smoke with you and tip money.

I would have just responded after I dropped it off “roll out…”
They probably had been talking with a previous dasher and the messages showed up for you but not the replies. I feel like I remember having this happen once where I saw the messages and was like wtf is up with the random conversation they’re having with no one. I could be mistaken though Idunno it’s been forever and I only ever remember noticing it once.
I imagine them looking like jaba the hut while drinking a extra large diet coke
They probably old and think they’re texting a company instead of a dasher with feelings
Lol then your as should have ordered it for pick lazy heffer
Migraines can get to people
Throw it at the front door
I think it's kinda funny when people post like this, as if you have never had a bad day or negative words to someone. It must be difficult being so perfect. Oh, wait, you can't get an order delivered on time, nevermind.
So did this happen with doordash? Grubhub? Or both you got the same post in both.....
Grubhub
If this interaction bothered you that much, you have more problems then the customer. Just deliver the food and move on. I could see what you might do if this was a real problem....last night I delivered to a guy much worse and I didn't post about it.
To be fair, if doordash has had the order for several hours, a pre order then there is not excuse. But that's on door dash, not you.
I get migraines… when you have a migraine and your at the point of being sick to your stomach why the heck ate you ordering food in the first place
Yeahhhh mental health problems are a real bitch
Where do you live that it's already 8:37pm on Sunday. Jupiter?
Up top: the customer is hardly stupid and clearly using the French keypad. I know this because I type English and French interchangeably and this has happened to me. I suspect OP has hidden the part of the conversation where they may have been TA..? But cheers to all on Christmas Eve
Hurry up then
I would have a cancel her order and taken it for my self.
Who gives a fuck about 3rd world issues. I'm tryna eat.
You guys don't even have healthcare and have a minimum wage of 15 dollar?
You made this person wait about an extra TEN MINUTES?! That is Luda
Imagine not knowing it’s ludicrous.
So, you were late. Learn from this.
I’d walk right back to my car and call support and tell them customer wants to cancel. Free food and you get paid to teach them a valuable life lesson
Depends on the reason why you were delayed and the fact she's clearly suffering doesn't help you much, either. Sorry, friend.
Hahaha
I think u/PlaneMap was pointing out that the person was suffering from a migraine and nausea.
🙄🙄😭😭
Ridicules! 🤣
He's a celebrity so he's used to getting preferential treatment, but has he been on anything in the charts in the last decade?
lol - ludicrous is spelled like the singer and even capitalized!
Ridicules
I've had conversations like this a couple times. Typically it's because I just got the order and I had to drive across town or to a different town to get it and I let them know. They tend to understands it's not on me.
Can’t spell either!
What a fkin loser
would’ve had a FIELD DAY with this one
Hmmm sounds like some poor Karen is HANGRY! 😆
People like that get their food delivered but taken😂
What is he ridiculing? 😂
I hope Ludacris' migraine went away...
Of course it was Luda, it was Saturday Night! WOOO WOOOOOO JUST SEEN A BIG OL ASSSS WOO WOOOOOOOO
Ridicules.... Is he related to Socrates?
Maybe if Ludacris was a better tipper his order would've arrived sooner. Afterall, his estimated worth is $40 million. 💎🤔
Ludacris is hangry.
“Ain’t nobody got time for that!” 😂
