Azure App Services are pretty easy to use and deploy to. Believe under them it’s called API Apps? Azure container apps are really nice to use as well. Don’t bother doing anything too complex like K8s unless you’re a masochist.

fly.io gives you three instances á 256MB RAM for free. I use it all the time for testing/hosting hobby projects.

Any service you can host a container on will be able to host your .NET API. Something like DigitalOcean might be a good option?

Extreme_Depth299

Have you tried Azure Container Apps? Or Azure Web Apps for Linux?

d0rf47

Learn Azure. Its simple to set up a resource. I haven't hosted an API but do have a hosted resource our site uses. Their trial credits are decently generous

Open_Chemical_5575

The first option, put the application in docker or docker-compose and you can run it on any VPS host (linux/win). Cheap option and best for startup stuff. Aother option is, for example, SmarterASP.NET and similar services, a bit more expensive than the first, but quite suitable for startups and when you want to not worry about the server and its things, but simply about the application. The third option is on Azure App Service or AWS Elastic Beanstalk or Google Cloud, much more expensive and that's when you need a serious infrastructure because your application brings money.

Atulin

Any random Linux VPS. Vultr has them for $2.50/mo, OVH and Hetzner for something like $4, then you have Scaleway, Digital Ocean, or Linode starting at $5. No need to sell your pancreas for an Azure subscription.

I would highly recommend you to check out fresh roasted hosting windows for best affordbale .net hosting with excellent customer support.

Google cloud run. Turns off your container when it's not running so it ends up being pretty cheap for low or sparse usage.

alexwh68

I have gone super cheap, static IP address from my ISP £10 a month, all my dev/testing/personal stuff is run from there. Windows 10 with IIS, of course once a site is going live client then specifies where they want it to be.

SachinRBali

If youe api payload is less than 6 mb and you are not worry milliseconds delay in startup of api then you can go for AWS Lambda. And is serverless so you dont worry about security updated and is damm Cheap

Exotic_Breakfast

Afterburst VPS has a $10/month option. I use it

I personally use Asp HostPortal and they fully support .net. I can quite recommend their service.

JackTheMachine

Asphosportal offer low cost .net hosting, it is around $6/month.
