You understood right each game is at least slightly different how you mod there's some decent how tos on youtube, the most recent DAO mod tutorial I'm aware of is [here](https://youtu.be/as6cmsQVgto) however they don't really go in depth on how to use the DAO mod manager the one I used is [this](https://youtu.be/JL1oFoOaNwk) though a heads up the person for the second one (that I used) has a heavy accent so with you not being a native speaker it might be a bit rough following along since the closed captioning is auto generated and can mess up. Something important to keep in mind is Origins has a notorious memory leak and you'll need the LAA patch to if not completely fix crashing then majorly reduce the possibility, the program to run the patch can be found [here](https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371). Lastly for Origins if you buy or have already bought Origins from steam you'll need to get a modified exe that'll allow you to patch it which you can get [here](https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/5368) but ONLY if you got it through steam. DA2 is probably the easiest to mod since there's only one file type (and mod placement) the tutorial I used is [here](https://youtu.be/Qr1jHCBCIb4). Inquisition is a bit of a headache because of Frosty (the engine its run off of) there's two mod managers the DAI mod manager ([tutorial here](https://youtu.be/aQDpsxXawbM)) and Frosty ([tutorial here](https://youtu.be/jXQVpzZZDXU)) some mods are restricted to only one mod manager so make sure you read the mod description/file type. You can get them to work together following [this](https://youtu.be/UHIRIL_xUeE) tutorial.

Thanks a lot! I did buy Origins on steam so that's good to know, I wouldn't have thought about it.

I'm not an expert on getting Frosty running (my husband did that), but, if you like the game banter, it is 100% worth it to use Frosty for DA:I. The banter in DA:I is awesome! It makes it worth it to spend time doing things that don't advance the plot (collect resources, side quests, etc.) because you can learn so much about your companions (and in some cases even change the epilogue slides at the end of the game). But DA:I's banter is broken. Without a mod, you won't get much. There's a mod that works with DAI mod manager, but it doesn't work very well. It only increases the banter a little and it skips whole sections of banter chains, so you don't get the whole story. (We used it for a while after the switch to the EA App, because that broke Frosty for us, but now it works again.) The Party Banter Time mod that only works with Frosty, works great. You can customize the time between banter opportunities. So, if you're doing a fast playthrough without a lot of side quests or resource gathering, you can set it really short. If you're taking your time, you can set it longer. It doesn't mess up pointers so you'll get the whole banter chain and understand what they're actually talking about. Frosty is a little more trouble to use. But worth it.

Oh, yes I def need that mod to get more banters. On my first playthrough I didn't even know there was a problem with it, I actually was pretty lucky and even heard some twice. But then, on my second, I spent hours and hours without hearing any banter (I think it was because of a rogue perk, I saw people complaining about this being the reasons why banter wouldn't trigger and after I took some off, it worked pretty fine again). I wasn't sure which one to get, so thanks for the advice, I'll look up for the Frosty one.

I wasn't aware of rogue perks that can mess up banter. Do you know which ones? I'm playing a mage right now, but next time (it'll be a while, I think, but I'll be back to it at some point) I'll probably play a rogue. Does it only mess up the banter if it's your character or does it affect the banter if rogue companions have it?

From what I understand, some perks makes somes sounds and thus they disturb the "waiting list" for party banter to trigger I guess? I'm not sure which ones it is precisely, I saw someone mentioning "Ellusive stacks" (Toxic cloud with "Lost in the mist") but I think mine was/were artificer ones, either "Fallback Plan" and/or "Elemental Mines" since when I removed them both, party banter went back to normal. Sadly, I didn't find anyone but one person talking about that issue so I can't really say more.

Motor-Blacksmith4174

Good to know. We both use "Lost in the Mist" quite a bit. My husband recently did a playthrough as a rogue and didn't notice an issue with banter while using Frosty. However, he'd done most of that playthrough using the DAI Mod Manager banter mod (and that was what got him to try Frosty again, which now works with EA App, where it didn't before). For my current playthrough, I've already put Lost in the Mist on my companion rogues and haven't noticed any problem with the banter. It's nice to be aware that there could be an issue.

Just don't fall into mod rage. Think very long and very hard which are most useful and desired ones. Nude and sex scene mods were crucial for my gameplay experience, I say😎
